NecroTek by Jonathon Mayberry is straight up ‘Lovecraft meets Alien’ and being a reader with zero Lovecraft experience, this thing threw me for a giant spinning loop. I went in relatively blind and was hooked from the very first chapter.
-A revolutionary teleportation device suffers a catastrophic disruption upon its launch which throws its massive space station along with all its inhabitants literally to a new dimension.
This ‘lost in space’ premise is Gold to me. I was 100% invested in this dynamic crew and their terrifying predicament.
But …
When the 💩 hit the intergalactic fan and things got all Lovecraftion, I kinda’ tuned out. Waaay too cosmic and mythos for me.
All in all though, it’s an entertaining story and the audiobook is well done; I am just Not a fan of Gods in Space.
Any and all Lovecraft fans will eat this up! And it’s book one of a series too 💥
