The Young World by Chris Weitz is a gritty, post-apocalyptic adventure set in New York City, where a mysterious illness has wiped out all adults. It follows a group of teens fighting for survival in a world without rules. Led by Jefferson and Donna, they face harsh realities, forming alliances and confronting dangers. The mix of action, suspense, and humor makes it engaging, though some characters feel stereotypical. Overall, it’s an intense, thought-provoking read for fans of survival stories and dystopian YA with a dose of realism.
I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.
I'm sorry it has taken so long to review this title. I absolutely loved it and appreciate being able to have the opportunity to read it. Thank you.
This was a fast-paced, well developed YA novel. I enjoyed it!
I'm sorry, I can't provide a proper review. It was hard for me to get into this book and only got about 30% into it before it was hard for me to continue. I've tried several times to get back to it but the writing isn't a style that I enjoy so I can't get back into it. I'm so sorry.
