Okay, I thought about DNFing this multiple times. Like a lot of times. I didn't think the back and forth between the guys was cute and I just thought Duncan was an ass and Ben just didn't know how to communicate.
Overall the book was interesting and I did finish it. I just maybe not recommend. It wasn't worth it.
I got an e-arc of this book on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a fun read. I’m not a huge reality dating show fan, but occasionally I will get in the mood to binge a season of Love is Blind or the like. This seemed to follow a scenario that could easily pop up on one of these shows. The main character had to decide between two guys, and the reader gets to follow along to see if she makes the right choice. The conflict seemed to be drug out a bit, but overall it was a good read and I would give it a 4 out of 5.
This book had me in a chokehold! It felt like I was watching the tv show in real life. I was so engrossed!! Molly and Ben are seriously the cutest! I struggled a little bit with reading it in parts it seemed repetitive. It was a fluffy read and very cute though.
thank you thank you thank you to kathryn and the team of One More Chapter for this e-arc
Words can't express how much i adore this book
it's so cute and absolutely the best book for the summer
no thank you next for this one
it is here to stay
I’m obsessed with all things reality TV, so I assumed this book would be a major hit for me. Unfortunately, that was not to be. I fully expect a lot of readers to love this, and I truly encourage you to give it a try! Freeman has created a lighthearted read that a lot of people will probably enjoy. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this one? I’m not sure, but I really had to push myself to continue once I hit about 30% of the way through.
For some reason, I think had I been watching this play out on an actual TV, I would’ve loved it a lot more. Would I have thought it was completely scripted? Absolutely, but there’s something about reality TV being extra cheesy that doesn’t play out as well for me on the page. I’m not saying I never love a light fluffy romance with a healthy dose of cheese on occasion. I have read and loved more than my fair share of that! This one just fell flat for me. I think that’s in large part because I found a lot of the characters to be immature, and Molly’s faith that she and Duncan were going to end up together even after he “temporarily” broke up with her to be on a dating show was beyond frustrating. My handwritten note for that chapter: “oh, honey.”
That being said, I do think Freeman is a talented author (far better than I could ever be!), and I would likely give her another try.
Molly’s boyfriend Duncan dumps her to take part in her favourite dating show to boost his social media following but promises it’s all just going to be for show and that he loves her. The producers invite her to join the show and she expects to be matched up with him but ends up matched to her Ex Ben instead…..
This had a lot of potential and some funny moments but fell slightly short for me. I really liked Bens character but personally found Molly’s character frustrating most of the time to the point that it affected how much I enjoyed the book. I know some people will enjoy her character though. A good one for lovers of reality dating shows!
aww this was super cute! i’m not the biggest fan of second chance romance, but a dating show was a clever format. i really loved both main characters and their banter. I need more from this author !
I neglected 90% of my responsibilities and binged this in one day. Normally I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope but it was so incredibly important to the relationship and character development. Im a sucker for reality daring shows and this hit all of the reasons I love them. Immediately went to find more of Kathryn’s books - her writing style clicked with me immediately. LOVED this!
This was cute and I ADORE a good reality TV romance, but unfortunately Molly was incredibly frustrating to me, especially at the beginning. I loved Ben, though! I didn't enjoy Duncan and all of the baggage that he gave Molly, but it was cool to see her overcome her problems. And I loved the ending!!
This was so cute! I love this author's stories! She's so good at bringing out the feels, the emotions and the sincerity of characters.
If you enjoy Married at First Sight, you'll enjoy this as the premise is really similar.
Oh my goodness I am literally obessed with this book and it is definitely one of my new favourites.
I really loved the characters in this. The whole story was fantastic and really kept my attention. This is a book I definitely didn't want to end. Absolutely amazing. I'll definitely be recommending this book.
I read this as an ARC on NetGalley
When you are used to being left/abandoned, your self esteem takes a hit. That is the case for Molly who chases after who she thinks she is destined to be with only to discover that sometimes who you need is someone completely different. Someone who will lift you up instead of tearing you down.

Molly thinks she’s in a good place with her boyfriend, Duncan, until he suddenly drops a bomb on her: he wants to break up to pursue an opportunity to advance his business by appearing as a contestant on the popular dating show, The One. The premise of The One is that contestants date for four weeks, at the end of which is a wedding, where they must choose whether or not to say “I Do”.
Molly follows Duncan onto the show, hoping to be paired with him for their love story to play out. When she arrives, however, she is paired with Ben, who also happens to be her ex.
💭My thoughts:
Unfortunately, this book was not my cup of tea. I didn’t find Molly likeable, and both Ben and Duncan had major red flags. Molly seemed to be more interested in getting married - to whoever would marry her - than having a loving, caring relationship.
The POV is third person, and it felt quite repetitive, overusing the same words, and repeating similar events. The writing style was not my favourite, and I found myself struggling to finish this book.
TW: overdose, suicide, psychological abuse, abandonment by a parent
Reality TV plots are always a guilty pleasure for me, so I was excited for this one. I felt that the setting was great and the writing style with a dual POV added dimension to the plot development.
However, I found the novel was extremely repetitive, with Molly and Ben continuously having the same conversation/argument each chapter. I also struggled to like Ben - especially when he struggled to enjoy a face mask in a spa, because he was a man.
I have read some mixed reviews but I enjoyed this book! It gave off easy summer reading vibes and definitely kept my attention. Some parts were repetitive but otherwise a well written novel!
I wasn’t sure I would enjoy the reality tv aspect but it was great. One thing I would’ve liked to have is a little more info about life outside of the show, such as relationships with friends and that sort of thing.
Thank You, Next was exactly what I expected it to be and exactly what I wanted to read when I started it. It was a great light read and I devoured it.
I loved Molly and Ben's story. I enjoyed both of their character's growth as the story progressed.
I cannot stand Duncan. His attitude really did comes across to me as "I don't want you, but I also don't want anyone else to have you". Completely selfish and up himself.
Both Ben and Molly had a few personal issues they had to work through in order top get to where they were at the end of the book.
For me the storyline was a little too slow for the majority of the book. The chapters were very repetitive. The end is what saved the book in my opinion.
Thankyou netgallery and Kathryn Freeman for the chance to review this book. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't put it down. What a fun read. This book contains language and sex scenes (does not overwhelm the book though). I enjoyed both Ben and Molly both which have their own traumas and troubles to deal with. This book does discuss death, child abandonment and adoption.
The novel “Thank you, next” is set on a reality dating show. This aspect immediately drew me into the urge of reading it. Molly is in love with Ducan who gets the opportunity to take part in the TV show. He says “Yes” and breaks up with his girlfriend Molly, who thought that he might marry her one day. When she also gets the chance to take part, she wants to do everything to win her lover back and marry him at the end of the show. Unfortunately, she is not paired with Ducan but Ben.
The story reads like a dating show. I loved the references to the dating show and that I had the impression of actually being part of the TV team filming. The author wrote especially well and made the characters relatable and funny.
Molly’s background story was very interesting. The woman had serious struggles in the past which explained her behaviours well. So did the stories of Duncan and Ben. My sympathies to the protagonists changed throughout the plot which I was very keen on. The story was complex and did not give the ending away on the first few pages and therefore drew me into reading on. I enjoyed the reading time.
To sum up, I loved the dating aspect and also the way the author put everything in the novel. I would definitely recommend this book for all dating show lovers.
This book is based on the main character Molly going on a reality show to try and win back her ex who dumped her to go on this show. Once she gets there the guy who broke her heart 3 years ago was also there.
This book is written in third person: it’s been a while since reading a book written in third person and I didn’t mind it. It was different but it didn’t get on my nerves but be warned because not everyone likes that writing style.
The things I didn’t like about this book is just the miscommunication and the being stuck in the past and not being able to move on even if it’s for the better. It’s just a pet peeve for me and it is actually quite common especially in dating shows so I think the author did a good job at writing it like a reality show.
But overall a good and quick read that was interesting and I do recommend this book to anyone who likes reality shows and second chance romance
