Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

In this suspenseful read we follow two mothers, Rachel and Holly, who both have children around the same age. Unfortunately, Rachel's daughter passed away unexpectedly and has been struggling processing. While Holly has tried to be supportive while also balancing family life along with building up her career as a journalist. Holly is given a case to write up that ended up opening up many avenues that take her to her friend Rachel, who coincidently is missing. So many twists and turns. I thought the connections were well done and progressed nicely though out the read.

TRIGGER WARNING: child death, psychological and physical abuse
Holly is caring and supportive when Rachel's daughter dies in a tragic accident. And when Holly's daughter goes missing, Rachel goes out of her way to search for the toddler and be there for her friend. But then Rachel goes missing and Holly can't help but wonder if her best friend stole her child...
Two Mothers is an emotional psychological thriller that deals with some very tough subjects. The death of a child is handled sensitively but is still naturally upsetting.
Holly and Rachel are close friends and had daughters the same age. But now Rachel's daughter is dead and Holly's is missing. Rachel's disappearance sets the rumour mill into action but Holly is desperate to believe the best in her friend despite the evidence to the contrary.
The book is written in the third person throughout from Holly and Rachel's perspectives in the present and past. I felt immersed in both timelines and didn't know who to trust. Holly is a journalist so is experienced in investigating which leads her to doubt her friend.
Poor Rachel is treated terribly by her husband and his family but is too scared and proud to tell anyone. Holly doesn't know who to trust as secrets begin to be revealed. I wanted to know more about Rachel's plan as this element of the plot seemed underdeveloped. I admit that I felt a little dissatisfied by the ending as I didn't think characters got the resolution that was anticipated.
Two Mothers is a tense and often dark psychological thriller that deals with upsetting scenarios.

3/5⭐️
I would give this a 3.5 max rating, it was definitely a different plot compared to cookie cutter thrillers you usually read. I liked the characters, felt the ending wrapped up pretty quick but luckily had a very different ending to what I was expecting

WHOA! What a brilliant thriller! I was entranced from the very beginning until the very end. This story is told from two mothers' POVs - Rachel in the past, and her best friend Holly in the present. Rachel's daughter tragically passes away, and Rachel relies on spending time with Holly and her daughter Luna to help her make it through her days. Luna disappears, and Holly can't help but wonder if Rachel had something to do with Luna's disappearance.

While these two mothers navigate their complex friendship, they are each navigating trials in their personal lives. Rachel and Holly are two strongly developed characters. They are each complex and dealing with trials along with their fragile friendship. These two mothers are fueled by their love for their children as they work to uncover the truth. Short chapters and well fleshed out writing propelled this story, and kept me grossly intrigued by the developments. I just had to know what was going to happen. The twists were jaw dropping! I'm so glad to have been introduced to this author.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

OH. MY. 5STARS!! This book had me hooked from the very first page! I could not put it down!! I shut out the world and taken up by this book! Perfectly written, well introduced characters.....The plot thickens! Thank you Kathryn Croft!

I always look out for Kathryn's new books and they never fail to disappoint. This one was no exception.

The moving story centres around two couples, Rachel and Damien and Holly and Elijah. Rachel's daughter died a year ago and the grief for everyone, especially Rachel, is still raw. Holly will do anything to keep her own daughter, Luna, safe, but when she disappears suddenly, could Rachel really have taken her? But when Rachel then goes missing herself, more secrets begin to be revealed....

This twisty, emotionally charged thriller hooked me straight away and I fell in love with the realistic characters and the dark secrets hidden in their lives. The twists and turns within the story means you never quite know who to believe or trust and this definitely kept me turning the pages!

The story kept me thinking about it for a long time afterwards, which is testament to the impact it had on me.

Highly recommended.

Thanks to Kathryn Croft, publishers Bookouture and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

NetGalley Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Two Mothers:

Two best friends, Holly and Rachel had daughters of the same age. One daughter dies and then the other goes missing.

Honestly, it’s really hard not to give too much away in the review. But my first book by Kathryn Croft had me hooked! This thriller was told from the point of view of both Holly and Rachel. I enjoyed this.

I usually have a good sense of figuring out who did what in these kind of psychological thrillers however, I was thrown for a loop and was completely wrong! Kept me guessing the whole time!

I will say some trigger warnings: a lot of mental health concerns and also domestic abuse. But in the end, I was happy how the book ended and at the same time really sad it was a good read, and I can’t wait to continue reading more of her work!

Thank you to NetGalley, Kathryn Croft and Bookouture for providing this AMAZING ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a well crafted and twisty thriller that had me turning the pages to find out what happens next.

When friends have young daughters but one of the girls is killed in a tragic accident the relationship between the women changes. As the remaining daughter Luna is the light of her parents lives and her abduction from her bedroom leads her mother down a path of danger and discovery.

This is far from predictable and the ending is really fast paced; the culprits are slowly unmasked with unexpected motives.

I would recommend this to those who enjoy a good domestic thriller and a page turner.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book! Two mothers who are really good friends with daughters about the same age when tragedy strikes. The last half of the book was engrossing, and that twist, just wow! Well done, and totally believable.

Thank you Negalley, Kathryn Croft and Bookouture for the eArc of Two Mother's

I found Kathryn Croft's books on Audible uk some years ago and have always enjoyed them so I was delighted to receive an Arc of Two Mother's .
This was no exception and is a great medium paced psychological domestic thriller. Two best friends, Rachel and Holly, who had children around the same time. Bonded through friendship and family, nothing could get in the way until Rachel's daughter dies in a tragic accident. Holly slowly pulls away from Rachel feeling uncomfortable being around her. Feeling that being around her daughter, Luna won't help Rachels pain. Truth be told, Rachel finds being around Hollys daughter Cathartic. One night, Luna goes missing after being taken from her bedroom and people start to point fingers. Several days later, Luna is returned by Rachel goes missing.. Everyone is convinced that Rachel was responsible for Lunas diappearance. Holly, however, will do anything to prove her innocence and realises that she didn't know Rachel as much as she thought she did.

I sat and read this in 2 sittings and is a definite page turner. The POV's of the book is from both Rachel and Holly. Rachel is predominantly in the past, building the picture of her life upto her disappearance and Holly is the present. Both are in first person which for me, makes bonding with these characters easier. All the characters are well fleshed out and I found I Loved/hated/ Like to hate with lots of emotions invoked throughout the book. The pacing of the narrative is spot on and nicely balanced with the character building. Again, the psychological build up, the twists and the final pay off was well timed and unique. Be warned, there are parts that may actually make you cry!

Ill definitely be purchasing the audio version

5 stars

This was a five-star thriller for me! It's about two women who are friends with little girls the same age, one of the girls dies and then the other is kidnapped. Everyone thinks the grieving mother did it, but then when the little girl is returned unharmed and the grieving mother disappears, it becomes apparent that something far more sinister is going on. The story goes back and forth between the POV of both mothers, while giving us pieces of their pasts alongside their current lives. There was so much suspense! There were so many twists! This book was absolutely fantastic, I couldn't read it fast enough!

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC of Two Mothers, in exchange for an honest review.

I think this is the fifth I've read by Croft to date and they just get better and better.

Two Mothers is a fast paced 'now and then' thriller that's narrated from the POV of two women, best friends Rachel and Holly.

As with any story that involves a missing child, there's an added layer of angst and the hope they'll be found safely.

Although the characters were credible and well written, I found I couldn't form any emotional attachment to them because I didn't know who I was able to trust.

An enjoyable, emotive read, full of twists and turns. The ending was a bit of an unexpected shocker mind.

Rachel and Holly are best friends, their daughters Evie and Luna were best friends too, then a year ago Evie was tragically killed when she was hit by a car on their way home from the park and Evie's family are still grieving their loss. Rachel insists that being close to Luna helps ease her pain, then Luna is snatched from her bed in the middle of the night and Rachel promises Holly that they will find her, two days later she is found in a nearby park, but then Rachel is reported missing, was she responsible for Luna being snatched and now she can't face the consequences, or is there something far more sinister going on here? Holly is certain that her friend is not responsible and, when she receives an anonymous note telling her to stop asking questions, she’s determined to find the truth, and Rachel…

Losing a child is every parent’s worst nightmare and these two mothers are living this nightmare, the only difference is that one is never coming back. Two Mothers is told from the perspectives of both Holly and Rachel and across two timelines; Before and After and is an emotional rollercoaster from the very start. I sympathised with both mothers during this story and took an instant dislike to Rachel’s husband, Damien with his controlling ways. This latest book by Kathryn Croft has it all and then some, it’s a fast paced read which had me hooked right from the first page and didn’t let go until the unexpected, but spectacular ending and I devoured this story in a matter of hours. This author is a favourite of mine and she certainly knows how to weave a great tale and this one was no exception, just as I thought I’d figured it out she threw in another curveball and sent me off in another direction wondering what had just happened. There are some very delicate subjects covered here, including coercive control and abuse, and Croft deals with these both sensitively and with integrity. Another fabulous five star read from this author.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Amazon and Goodreads.
