Two Mothers a psychological thriller by Kathryn Croft has more than one twist to it and was an absolutely amazing read.

Two best friends Rachel and Holly both Mothers are going to need to stay strong as the fate of their young daughters are going to be in jeopardy and they both have husbands whom they can no longer rely upon but only themselves.

Rachel's daughter Evie died and she only has her husband Damien and son Logan who she is very protective of and is grieving every single day for Evie and her relationship with Holly is strained as she struggles to make contact with Holly and Luna as Luna reminds her of the Mother she could still be if Evie had not died.

Both husbands have a secret that they are keeping from their wives but as time passes by secrets will no longer be secret.

This thriller was unlike any I have ever read. It was quite emotional and focused quite a lot on the psychological aspects of the human mind. It's twisty and fast-paced and will keep you guessing until the last page. The characters are lifelike and so well done. You can feel as if you know them, experience what they go through. And the writing style — simplistic but not basic it was smooth like butter. So, so good. Highly recommend to all looking for a good thriller. If it is a single thriller you read this year, make and it this one because it is just that good.

Holly is horrified when her 2 year old daughter, Luna, is snatched in the middle of the night. Best friend, Rachel, is there to support and understands what Holly is going through as she lost her daughter not so long ago. Luna is found days later but then Rachel goes missing. Soon there are signs that Rachel took Luna. Will Rachel work out what really happened?

This story sounded really intriguing and like it would be a good mystery. This took the reader on an entertaining ride, that makes you keep trying to guess what’s happening. The main characters are well written and you immediately feel their emotions, although I didn’t fully connect with them. There are a few good twists and the story takes an interesting turn but I found the pacing quite slow which meant that my interest wasn’t fully held. This was a good domestic crime novel and would definitely suit a lot of thriller readers, however it is likely one that I won’t fully remember. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

I got to read the eARC of this one on NetGalley thanks to Bookouture!

This thriller was a wild ride! I constantly thought I had it figured out, but just did not- this psychological thriller was done so well.

Going into the book, I thought there'd be some situation where one mother steals another woman's baby, which is not the case but instead you get a totally gripping story of a woman who is portrayed as unstable by her husband, and her best friend might not know everything about her.

I was glued to my couch reading this one. Some characters I hated and felt like they could've been left out, but in hindsight might have added to the emotion in the book. Get ready to trust no one in this book!

Fans of Lisa Jewell and Shari Lapena should definitely pick this one up!

This was one of those books I picked for reading without any plans to do so until just a moment ago. I saw it on Netgalley, liked the description, and requested it from the publisher, got approved, then started reading it.

From the moment I saw the description and the cover, I was intrigued to know the whole story. The 'What's, Who's, and Why's' kept me hooked from even before the beginning until the very last chapters (which IS exactly what the point of thrillers is supposed to be, I know. But we all know how disappointing it is to have figured out the ending of a THRILLER way before the ending from some books or the other). The story maintained a good balance between the characters and plot, both holding their own aspect of importance while still being entwined together to keep the readers wanting to know more.

I would have loved to shed light on my thoughts on some of the characters of the book in the book, but I'm not sure how I can do it without giving away spoilers, so I'll just say that I love how each character in the story has their flaws and demons.

When the story ended, I didn't even realize it and was scrolling to the next page for the next part but when I realized that it was The End, I was disheartened for a moment because I was expecting something else from the ending, but after letting the whole story sediment in my mind, I realized it was the 'right' ending, not the sugar-coated fantasy ending one would want, but something that would likely happen.

Overall, I liked the book, and would suggest this to anyone who wants to try a thriller with twists, turns, and revelations from the first page till the last!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Rachel is struggling to live a normal life after her 2 year old daughter was tragically struck by a motor vehicle accident and died. She must go on for the sake of her young son Logan and her husband Damien. She tries to ease her pain by helping her best friend, Holly with her own 2 year old daughter Luna who was also her own daughter's best friend. One day Luna goes missing and the entire town is out looking for her and doing everything to bring her home safe. As quickly as she went missing Luna is miraculously found but then Rachel goes missing. Are the two bizarre circumstances connected or is this a coincidence. Some start to think that Rachel may have had something to do with Luna's disappearance and then felt guilty about her actions. This was a great read and I really enjoyed the story line and the characters. Enjoy!!!

I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down. The emotional rollercoaster was intense and intriguing. I got so much insight and revealed secrets from the 2 different point of views. The writing style is captivating. Once I thought I had figured it out, the story turned around and surprised me with more. Thriller vibes for sure, but with it’s own twist. Loved it so much!

Rachel and Holly are best friends. They are both mothers, but Rachel’s daughter Evie was tragically killed in a hit and run accident a few months ago. With the help of Holly and her daughter Luna Rachel healed. But some say that Rachel spends too much time with Luna and when Luna is abducted all fingers at point at Rachel. But when Luna turns up and Rachel disappears. They think with guilt after taking Luna. Holly knows that her friend wouldn’t do that and will do anything to find out the truth.
Two Mothers by Kathryn Croft is another fabulous thriller from the author. This is slow to start with. But it is a well thought out story with is full of twists, secrets and lies. I thought it was quite heartfelt too how two people close to each other, but their lives are so far apart. This is a great read that I really enjoyed. 5 stars from me.

A page turner of a thriller! I was captivated by this mystery and trying to figure out who took Luna and what happened to Rachel…I didn’t guess it though! I know I’ve got a great mystery when I can’t put it down and NEED to know what happened, which was definitely the case for #TwoMothers.

An absolute blinder of a thriller, I was hooked from the very start and couldn’t put it down!

Told from the POV of Rachel in the past and her best friend Holly in the present, the story follows the two women’s journeys following the tragic death of Rachel’s daughter, her need to spend time with Holly’s daughter, Luna, for comfort and then Luna’s disappearance.

There is a lot going on in the background; Rachel has told nobody about her abusive marriage, Holly is conflicted at work, one of Rachel’s students has been falsely accused of a crime, and there is so much more. The plot is insane! So much crucial detail and it comes together brilliantly with so many twists, my head was spinning!

Nothing is as it seems and everything you might assume will be turned on its head!

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Kathryn Croft and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

The two mothers are Holly and Rachel. Both have lost their young daughters - one forever. Is one Mum implicated in what has happened to the daughter of the other? And are either or both of the flawed husbands responsible for all that is going wrong? And how does the teenager accused of rape and the “killer driver” fit in.? This is another speedy read from Kathryn Croft that keep the reader guessing all the way through to a (slightly abrupt) end

Two Mothers is a fast paced thriller.
I’ve read a couple of books by Kathryn and with another to add to the growing list, I’m pleased with my reading journey.
Holly and Rachel are mothers and best friends.
One has lost her daughter in a traumatic accident.
To help with her grief, Rachel spends a lot of time with Holly’s family.
Then the others daughter gets child napped.
Soon after Rachel disappears.
A coincidence or not……
Holly will do anything to uncover the truth and when she does, it shocks everyone….
The plot had me hooked and with short chapters and good writing, I flipped through the pages with ease and excitement.
Told through today and the past, the distinct dialogue of the two main female protagonists made for gripping reading.
With a collection of characters that are interesting, moments of tension, a twist, some surprises and a wrapped up ending, all making an enjoyable reading encounter.

Two Mothers by Kathryn Croft is a story that will grip your heart and keep you guessing. I especially enjoyed how this was written between both mother's point of view, you can't help but feel for each of them as they navigate grief and friendships that are affected by it.
Holly and Rachel are best friends and so are their daughters Evie and Luna, but when a tragedy takes Evie's life in a car accident nothing is ever the same. Holly and Rachel's friendship is put through the test, and Rachel seems to take an uncomfortable interest in Holly 's daughter Luna. So when Luna goes missing all eyes are on Rachel but Holly sets out to prove Rachel's innocence.
I loved how this story made you connect with the grief of the two mother's, and how they both struggled to work through it. Holly's determination to the absolve her friend was a beautiful testament to their bond. Though the ending left somethings unresolved, I really enjoyed the storyline and it kept me interested through out.
Thank You Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A child goes missing...did the mother's best friend take her? Fast-paced story, but some of the characters were a little lackluster.
A good thriller to dive into this summer.
Thank you, NetGalley, and the publisher for access to this eARC.

My Rating: 4.25

In Two Mothers by Kathryn Croft, we follow two points of view - Rachel and Holly.

Rachel and Holly are mothers and best friends. Rachel lost her daughter Evie in a tragic accident. Holly's daughter Luna goes missing.

Did Rachel kidnap Luna?
Is Rachel's grief such that she would chance losing her son?

Two Mothers has so many twists and turns that you will get emotional whiplash. I will not go into too much detail because this is a book that you need to experience all the things for yourself. I definitely recommend Two Mothers by Kathryn Croft if you enjoy twists and turns, friendship drama, a web of lies, and so many interconnected parts and pieces that all come together in the end. WHEW! The journey you are about to go on if you pick up this book!!!

Content warning: child loss, mention of rape, domestic abuse

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review Two Mothers by Kathryn Croft.

Amazingly well written a d thoroughly entertaining. I felt some of the characters weren't very true to life, others a bit underdeveloped and the rest well perfectly brought to life lol. I loved the premise, there was so much tension built throughout and I had more quirstiins with every chapter. I couldn't finish it quickly enough
