I really had such a good time with this. I laughed, I said aww, I wanted to cry, I felt the chemistry and connection and I really enjoyed all the kids (which is something I don't always say). Ben is a sweetheart and adorable. The enemies to lovers really shined through. It is a fantastic debut from Amy and I can't wait to read what she does next!
Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin and Netgalley for access to an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the arc of this book. All opinions are my own.
I really loved this one! I am not the best at writing reviews sometimes, but sometimes books take you by surprise and this one did just that. I got invested a few chapters in and couldn't put it done. It was so good! I highly recommend this one.

Juliana is a single mother trying to return to the workforce after a long hiatus and the loss of her husband in a tragic accident. Juliana and Ben have been enemies after an embarrassing first encounter at work, leading to Juliana overhearing a hurtful comment Ben makes. Two years later, they are constantly trying to one up each other. Juliana learns she is up for a promotion, but will have to work very closely with Ben to obtain it. They decide to call a truce, and as they continue to work together, their chemistry becomes undeniable.
I loved this book SO much - I am such a sucker for enemies to lovers and I think this was incredibly well done. I am obsessed with these two. Their banter was so much fun, and their chemistry and sexual tension was off the charts. I thought Juliana was a great main character, and she went through a lot of development by the end of the book. She did get a bit annoying with her constant back and forth, and I'm surprised Ben was as patient as he was to be honest. BUT I think Ben Thomas may be a new book boyfriend for me because DAMN, I love that man. I think it would have been amazing to have a dual POV from his perspective - the angst and longing would have been SO GOOD. I also ADORED the daughters in this book, they were so sweet and I loved the family dynamic they had.
This reminded me so much of The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, so if you are a fan of that book, I highly recommend this one!

*Let's Call a Truce* by Amy Buchanan is a heartfelt novel that explores the complexities of relationships, forgiveness, and personal growth. The story revolves around two characters who, after a period of tension, decide to navigate their way through their differences and find common ground. Buchanan's writing is sincere, and she does a great job of capturing the emotional nuances of the characters' struggles.
However, while the themes are compelling, the pacing of the book felt uneven at times. Some parts of the narrative dragged on, and the resolution came a bit too quickly for my liking, making it feel less earned. Additionally, while the central conflict is relatable, the character development didn’t feel as deep as I had hoped.
Overall, *Let's Call a Truce* is a nice, uplifting read, but it could have benefited from a bit more depth and tension to make the emotional payoff more impactful. It's an enjoyable story but may leave readers looking for more complexity.

Not normally a fan of office romances but this one worked. I loved the banter between Juliana and Ben. As well as the extreme hate to love. And what made it all work was the fact that it was indeed slow burn. Hate to love works the best when the plot is slow burn. As the characters go from hating each other to be friends to finally more.

What a fantastic debut, with so much heart!
This romance has one thing at its core, and that is picking yourself up after the devastating loss of a partner and learning how to move forward. Juliana is the epitome of that, and I couldn’t be more proud of that. She was a stay at home mom who had to reenter the workforce after the loss of her husband. She was fun to read as she navigated entering back into the workforce while still being the sole provider for 2. It also created delicious tension with Ben.
Overall, I almost would have liked a few chapters from the perspective of Ben, mainly to understand his motives and decisions. While his friend was able to provide some of this behind knowledge, I felt like it would have been more impactful with his own voice.
Can’t wait to read more Amy Buchanan in the future!
Thanks to St. Martins Press and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 I’m actually obsessed. Juliana was annoying at times with how much she went back and forth on whether she wanted to pursue a relationship with Ben but I loved them together and their relationship with each other’s kids? Dead

This one was an entertaining read, but a little forgettable. My only real takeaway is that man did not grovel enough.
Thank you Amy Buchanan and Netgalley for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

I love a good workplace enemies to lovers romance, but this one just didn't quite hit the way I wanted it to. There was no cheating, but still way too much OW drama for me.

DNF. Haphazard editing and far too much tell rather than show kept forcing me to put the book dow, so I gave up

Let’s Call a Truce by Amy Buchanan is a total delight from start to finish. Juliana is the kind of character you can’t help but root for—a fierce, funny single mom juggling life’s chaos with grit and humor. And then there’s Ben, who’s the definition of rugged charm, bringing just enough edge to keep things exciting. When these two collide, the sparks are undeniable, and their banter? Absolutely hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud at their sharp comebacks and witty exchanges.
The found family theme adds so much heart to the story, grounding the romance in something deeper. While the heat between Juliana and Ben definitely burns hot, it’s balanced by moments of genuine connection that kept me invested. This book is the perfect mix of humor, heart, and just the right touch of spice. An absolute must-read!

This is a romance story with an enemies to lovers trope. Juliana and Ben are coworkers and after an initial meet cute they then get off on the wrong foot. Two years later their animosity is still there. They end up calling a truce when they have to work together on a project and soon realize they like each more than they had admitted. Juliana and Ben are both single parents and that adds another element to the story. This book is well written and an enjoyable read.

I was expecting a cute enemies-to-lovers story but there is so much heart in this one! I was pleasantly surprised to find the depth involved in this book. I loved the characters and their story. This was sweetly surprising and full of off the charts chemistry!

Workplace enemies-to-lovers romance that touches on of grief, parenthood, and professional ambition. Perfect blend of humor, romance, and emotional depth that had me laughing and crying as I was reading. The chemistry and banter had me hooked from the start, and the emotional aspects laced throughout ripped my heart out and glued it back together.

A work place romance with lots of banter with enemies that become lovers? Sign me up. Let’s Call a Truce has made it to my top favorite reads. I really liked that it sets the premise and that after two years they still have their hate towards one another. The unexpected secrets coming out kept me on my toes because it really shocked me.
Amy Buchanan became an auto buy author because her writing style and characters are memorable.

A very interesting read. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this book. It wasn't really for me, but I am sure that it will be loed by the right audience.

I hated this. The FMC was so immature. I couldn't stand the rivalry between the two coworkers. This attempted to be The Hating Game and missed the main point of THG: the chemistry. The characters had none. The FMC was constantly looking for reasons to leave/be mad and I got so tired of hearing from her.

I’m sorry to say that this book didn’t really work for me. I felt that it was too long for the relatively simple plot, and it all felt like unnecessary filler.

I wanted to like this book so bad, the premise sounded great and I like the cover. Unfortunately this wasn't for me, I struggled through almost the entire book with all of the work talk, the banter between them is the only thing that kept me going.

When Juliana's husband, Jason, passes away she has to go back to work to avoid losing everything that they have. With the help of a friend, she lands a role at a firm that is the perfect fit for her. Unfortunately, not all are thrilled to have her there. Ben, a colleague, thinks she may be in over her head due to having two children and trying to maintain a steady career.
Slowly, Juliana and Ben find themselves with chemistry that neither of them are quite ready to pursue. A lot of longing looks, sassy quips, and tension. Juliana's youngest daughter has a new best friend at school and her dad just so happens to be Ben! Juliana and Ben grow closer. Until eventually everything comes to a sudden halt with the return of Ben's ex-wife who "wants to work things out" after leaving him with their daughter.
Will true love win or will an old flame ruin everything?
