I had high hopes for this book but I just really didn’t like it. The premise was so far fetched that I could not get invested. Jasmine and Trent were terrible and we didn’t get enough time with Stephanie. Overall a disappointing book

Stephanie and Jasmine have nothing and everything in common. The two women don’t know each other but have boarded the same plane. Stephanie is on a business trip and Jasmine is fleeing an abusive relationship.

After a few days, they text their friends the same exact messages about the same man―soon, the messages become stranger and more erratic. And then the two women vanish. The texts go silent, red flags go up, and panic sets in.

When Stephanie and Jasmine are each declared missing and in danger, it begs the question: Who is Trent McCarthy? What did he do to these women―or what did they do to him?

Twist upon twist, layer upon layer, nothing is as it seems. The Business Trip takes you on a descent into the depths of a mastermind manipulator. But who is playing whom?

I’m so grateful to have received this arc.

Unfortunately this book fell a bit flat for me. I was really hoping for more with the ending but ultimately it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

I normally like multiple POV books but this one took it to the extreme with so many it was too much and made the story feel choppy. Trent was also the worst, I get that he was supposed to be unlikeable but this was another extreme that didn’t need to made. At this point I don’t really care what happens to anyone in the story so I’m going to call it quits

Wow! I loved The Business Trip! I especially enjoyed the multiple POV's. I love how a certain character changes throughout the book. You think you're cheering for someone who may or may not actually deserve the cheering. I apologize for the vagueness of that sentence. I just don't want to give anything away. This book was easy to read and I ended up flying through it. I couldn't put it down. The twists and turns were well written. I was a little underwhelmed by the ending but the storyline was entertaining and addictive.

I get the feeling that the author was unsure of her characters and never had true parameters of their characteristics. Jasmine is a battered girlfriend with no money but for a plane ticket to leave her boyfriend. Next scene Jasmine is coming up with additional funds to pull of a fake identity, what? Also let's add twist upon twist that makes zero sense.

Stephanie and Jasmine are both going on a trip but for different reasons. One is a work trip and the other is escaping a domestic violence situation and neither know each other. But then they end up on the same flight and a plan is hatched by one of them without the others knowledge. When their friends and family both get text messages that are oddly similar and involving someone named Trent there is something suspicious about it since neither woman knows each other. When these friends and family start to investigate they realize things might not be what they seem and these two women might be connected in a different way.

This was a great book and kept me on my toes and I didnt want to put. down. I thought the way that it changed between the perspectives was smooth and easy to follow. I thought it was really well connected at the end and I could follow the story easily.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy! Jesse Garcia wrote The Business Trip with many twists and turns. Great read!

This book was a pretty fast paced thriller. There were many twists and turns. While they were predictable, I really enjoyed the book as a whole. At first the multiple POVs were hard to keep track up but as the story progressed it was easier to figure out who was who. I would recommend this read if you are wanting something quick and twisty.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This book was good up until the last 10% of the book. I lost interest it was a big eye roll. Time line inconsistencies doesn’t make sense.

This is about two girls who get on the same plane. One is getting away from an abusive relationship and one is actually going on a business trip. What actually happens on this business trip is what you will have to pick up this book.

I couldn’t turn my pages faster enough for thgis book. The grip it had on me and the psychological hold it had was unlike anything I read, and then the ending.

The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia is an unexpected take on a mystery/crime novel. The main character seems to be running away from domestic abuse, but nothing is exactly as it seems. This book is full of twists and turns you will never see coming. It is definitely a unique take on this genre. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

The most amazing plot twist of this book is that one of the female main characters was able to achieve a punk rock look shopping at j. jill .

This book was ridiculous. It started off pretty good. I didn't think it would turn into the train wreck that it did. I started skimming about halfway through especially during the Trent POV parts. Stereotypical characters to the point of being ridiculous, and I don't think Jasmine would have been able to pull off all she did without a hitch. Not that good.

Bravo for this debut novel. This reader found it very unique. Each character is introduced with a first person POV. The first two, Jasmine and Stephanie are two 40 ish, single women. What else do they have in common? Both want to change their lives. Jasmine is fleeing from an abusive boy friend. Stephanie from a boring life. They meet on a plane flying from Madison to San Diego. After that everything goes wonky. Pay attention, because nothing is as it seems. Without giving away any spoilers, there are so many twists and turns, so at the surprise end, I found that I had to go back and read some chapters again.

I was gifted with an Advanced Reader's Copy. This is my unbiased, voluntary and honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of The Business Trip—it was engaging, well-paced, and had me totally hooked. Jessie Garcia did a great job setting up the story and characters, and I was excited to see where it would go.

But the second half took a turn that felt weird and confusing. The plot started to lose focus, and I found myself wishing it had gone in a different direction.

The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia is an absolute page-turner. It is smart, sassy, and full of sharp twists that kept me guessing from start to finish. Garcia nails the tension and chemistry between characters while weaving in just the right amount of humor, drama, and unexpected heart.

What starts as a seemingly routine work trip quickly unravels into a rollercoaster of secrets, ambition, and emotional surprises. I loved how the story balanced fast-paced plotting with deep character moments, making it impossible to put down.

Jessie Garcia has a fresh, compelling voice and The Business Trip proves she knows exactly how to keep readers hooked. Fun, thrilling, and surprisingly moving.

This one’s a standout.

This was fun, although I do feel part 4 begin to drag I was still mostly entertained throughout! 3.5 stars

I was really enjoying The Business Trip; the pacing was solid, the tension kept me hooked, and the characters were engaging. But then came the final section, and things truly went off the rails. The twists stopped feeling grounded, and the plot lost all sense of believability, which unfortunately pulled me out of the story. That said, I appreciate the opportunity to read this ARC—thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press. I'd still be open to reading more from this author in the future.

This was a wild ride. Jasmine is in a dangerous relationship with her boyfriend and decides to leave one night while he's sleeping. she quietly gathers her small contents in a suitcase and leaves the trailer and calls an Uber to take her to the airport. she plans to go to Colorado to start over. meanwhile Stephanie has a work conference in San Diego that she's getting ready for the next day and she has to fly through Colorado. from here on out nothing is as it seems and people in both of these women's lives get messages from them that don't make sense and fear is a motivator in their next move. there were so many twists to this book and although there were many things that I didn't quite believe could really happen I did like this book and think that it was very fast-paced and well thought out.
