What a beautiful picture book.
I picked it up because of my love for fiber arts and stayed for the absolutely beautiful illustrations and touching story.
This is a beautiful story, well worth a space on any child's library.
Cute little story of loss and grief. The littlest weather lost her mom - and while their grief isn’t as “fresh” their new neighbors is. The little weaver and her father comfort him in the best way they know how, weaving. This heartwarming story is good for young kids who may have lost someone close to them. Illustrations are pretty.
Oh my heart! Absolutely adorable and sweet book. This book excellently deals with grief that most other children's books are unable to accomplish. The pictures are so beautiful and soft. Even as an adult I felt a sense of comfort reading this book. I will recommend The Littlest Weaver to any parent or guardian who has a child dealing with loss.
Such a sweet story with beautiful illustrations! It's a lovely lesson of empathy, and kindness, and patience, and overcoming grief. All told simply for children to understand, without it having to be too deep or too sad.
This book is sadly wonderful. A father and his daughter are Weavers. It’s just the two of them. One day a new man comes to town and takes up residence in a local cabin. He had lost his family and is still in the unhappy times. Weaver and the father know if they can weave the right rug they might be able to help the father come out of his grief and live again. This book will have someone who needs it and will greatly appreciate it.
The Littlest Weaver by Robin Hall is a beautifully written and illustrated story about community in the Appalachian Mountains. A young girl and her father see a neighbor in need of friendship and cheering up. The Father-Daughter duo decide to weave him a rug to show them they care. I love The Littlest Weaver from beginning to end. The beautiful writing and illustrations really sweep you into the story. I highly recommend The Littlest Weaver by Robin Hall! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
This book is so cute, and extremely emotional but perfect for teaching young ones about accepting others and working on understanding what they are going through. Loss is a tough subject for anyone but this wonderful children’s story makes it a little easier to look at. This beautiful tale shows us we are not alone even when we feel like we are. This story is beautiful and so are the illustrations I think this is perfect for anywhere from daycare/classroom settings to a story to read at home.
This was such a good story! I was drawn to the book initially by the pictures—I’ve always been a sucker for good pictures! It looked like the kind of book my sisters would enjoy, so I got it to read to them, and it turned out to be a favorite.
The story is really sweet. I loved watching Laurel working with her father; that was probably my favorite element of the story. Then, seeing how they saw a need in someone else’s life and worked to reach out to the other man to help him through his grief—that was super special! I also loved the creativity involved in the story; that was special, too.
If you’re looking for a gentle, uplifting picture book to share with your children, this could be an excellent option. I loved the vibrant colors in the illustrations and the way the setting was portrayed through the artwork. The story itself is put together in an interesting, easy-to-read manner, which is appealing to younger children. After I finished reading it to my sisters, they begged to be allowed to go back through the book and study all the pictures, and several days later, one of them asked to be allowed to read it again. Recommended!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, and this is my honest opinion of it.
Hermoso..
A beautiful and sweet story full of soft pictures! My daughter and I really love it! I highly recommend it

A little girl and her Pa weave rugs together. One day she sees a lonely man and finds how deep his lonliness runs. With her Pa’s help they create a rug just for him to bring some happiness to him.
What a beautiful story on kindness, on loss and on using your talents to help others. As she found out he’d lost his whole family, like she’d lost most of hers she wanted to make him feel better and designs such a beautiful rug just for him.
I loved her and her Pa’s relationship, they just had each other but they were so sweet together creating all these beautiful rugs. She shows so much empathy, love and kindness towards this stranger who was all alone and it was so lovely.
The illustrations were really beautiful, seeing her and her Pa weaving the rug for the lonely man, seeing them going to his house, seeing the change they made in him, it was all so beautiful to look at. This is a wonderful story and so worth reading, it shares so many important messages and it’s very adorable read.
This picture book has gorgeous, soft illustrations with lots of scenic details, and it tells a sweet story about grief, loss, and the importance of art and community. The sad themes may be too much for some sensitive kids to handle, but this is a great story about enduring and embracing life again after losing someone you love.
This book has gorgeous illustrations and poignant narrative. It's a gentle approach to themes of loss, friendship, and kindness, It is a touching reminder of the power of art to heal and connect us. It’s a story that warms your heart like a woven blanket, perfect for children and adults alike who are navigating the delicate threads of grief and remembrance.
The Littlest Weaver is a beautiful and heartwarming story about grief and loss, looking out for your neighbours, and healing through art.
I was drawn in by the beautiful soft illustrations, but was blown away by the sensitivity and empathy of the story. I think this is a beautiful read to share with children coping with loss, or who know someone who is. The gentle compassion and caring shown by the young girl and her father was so moving. The illustrations beautifully brought to live the mountainous small town setting and the warmth of the characters.
Thank you Familius and NetGalley for a copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.
This book is set in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, following a young girl named Laurel. I absolutely loved this story and the illustrations, it’s the perfect read to add to a young reader’s collection.
Laurel and Pa’s kindness was very well portrayed when a stranger movies in nearby. I loved the amount of friendship and the weaving element in this story.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with access to read this book!
Set in southern Appalachia, we meet a young girl named Laurel who lives with her Pa. They don’t have much living in the holler but they have so much love to give.
When a new stranger moves in nearby, she noticed the same sadness in his eyes that she has for her late mother.
The stranger is standoffish at first but quickly warms to Laurel and Pa’s kindness. Laurel notices a doll on the table with nobody to play with it. Laurel has a special gift for weaving. She weaves the man a story rug full of love for his deceased young daughter. A new friendship is created between Laurel, Pa and the new not so stranger.
This beautifully illustrated story is packed with empathy, kindness, and love.
Thank you to NetGalley and Familius for allowing me to read and review The Littlest Weaver.
The Littlest Weaver is a story about a young girl and her father, who weave beautiful rugs. The girl is grieving her mother & recognizes that grief in another man in the town as well.

This story touched my heart. I wish I could rate it more than 5 stars.
It's a beautiful story that shows how showing compassion and care matter so much to those that are grieving. That our own loss and sadness can help us show others how to navigate theirs.
Lovely illustrations. The story brought tears to my eyes.
Adding this one to our order list at the library.
I absolutely loved this book! It was so sweet. I liked that it was set in the “hills and hollers of Appalachia’s great Southern Highlands”, and I also really loved Laurel, she was such a kind, sweet little girl.
This is a great little book to have in a child’s library, to teach them about kindness and how life was long ago. I loved the fact that Laurel was persistent and kind to the newcomer.
The writing was excellent, and the illustrations were gorgeous!
I can’t recommend this book highly enough!
A cute story for young children who are either dealing with the loss of a loved one, or perhaps have someone in their life dealing with that sadness and in need of compassion. This story can be used to guide children through those big emotions of loss and sadness or as an example of showcasing kindness and compassion in their lives.
