"The Wedding Witch" by Erin Sterling is a captivating blend of romance and magic that kept me thoroughly entertained. The story follows Bowen Penhallow, a reclusive witch who prefers studying dark and ancient magic on a Welsh mountaintop. When his ghostly friend Colin convinces him to attend a Yuletide wedding at a grand estate, Bowen reluctantly agrees.

Tamsyn Bligh, a non-witch who makes her living selling magical items, is also attending the wedding with hopes of making a big score. Bowen, an occasional customer and the star of many of Tamsyn's fantasies, becomes her unexpected partner when a powerful spell and a wedding mishap transport them to the past, to the Yuletide Celebration of 1958.

The characters are well-developed and endearing. Bowen's journey from a loner to someone who opens up to love is heartwarming, and Tamsyn's resourcefulness and charm make her a delightful heroine. Their chemistry is palpable, and their adventures in the past add an exciting twist to the story.

One of the highlights of the book is the seamless integration of magic into the plot. The spells and enchantments are imaginative and add a fun twist to the romantic storyline. The pacing is well-balanced, with just the right amount of tension and resolution to keep the reader hooked.

However, there were a few moments where the plot felt a bit predictable, and some of the magical elements could have been explored more deeply. Despite these minor issues, "The Wedding Witch" is a thoroughly enjoyable read that will leave you smiling.

Overall, Erin Sterling has crafted a charming and magical tale that is perfect for fans of romantic comedies with a supernatural twist. I highly recommend it for a cozy, feel-good read.

Probably my favorite of the series! Very cute & quick read. The magic and time traveling had me intrigued in this one. A little behind on my ARCs, but I couldn’t help saving this until Christmastime (thank you NetGalley & Avon Books!)

Witchy, ghosty romcom in October? Say less! We travel back to Graves Glen by way of Bowen - the middle, bearded Penhallow brother - on his quest to right a ghostly wrong from his past. Witty, swoony, and the perfect mix of romance, spells, and sibling love, The Wedding Witch was a great third act in Graves Glen!

I really liked this book. I love how this series has grown on me. I didn't like the first at all but I have loved the second and now third! The writing was fun and the romance was romancing in this one. Two thumbs way up!

The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling is the third installment of the Graves Glen series. This one centers around the 3rd brother, Bowen, and his jump into romance with a woman he foes into business with, Tamsyn. A little magic, a little time travel and another fun holiday romantic comedy type book. If you liked The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse, check this one out!

This was a really satisfying conclusion to this trilogy! I'm loving this trend of witchy/paranormal/contemporary fantasy romances, and this series might be my favorite of the bunch. I loved Bowen and Tamsyn's story, and the time travel aspect of this one made it really gripping. The stakes were high, but not so high as to be uncomfortable. Great read!

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series and I liked this one but not as much as the other two. My main problem was that I found the main relationship to be very underdeveloped. You get their first meeting and then some text messages and emails from their time in between and then the time travel and then they're in love with each other. I would have loved some more time during the in between to see how they fell for each other.

My favorite parts in the book were when all the brothers and the characters from the previous books were together. I LOVED seeing them all together.

3.5 stars rounded down.

I am a massive fan of “The Ex Hex” series … however, this one felt a bit lackluster to me.

Maybe it’s because I’m not into love-bombing/insta-love tropes. However, this story felt too kitschy to me. :(

3.5 on storygraph. I think this book would have benefitted by being longer. I think too much of this book was set in the past and we didn't get to see enough of the couple when they arrive back in modern times.
One thing I love about series like this is interaction with the previous MC's and I would have also liked to have more of that.
Even with the above criticisms, I ended up adoring the main couple and their relationship, I thought they were adorable. Everything ended tied up in a neat little bow, which is my favorite kind of story. I had a great time and will continue reading from this author.

Grumpy Meets Sunshine in a Spellbinding Romance

I absolutely adored The Wedding Witch! Erin Sterling does a fantastic job bringing the grumpy/sunshine dynamic to life. The characters were vibrant, and their chemistry was undeniable, making every interaction a delight to read. The banter was sharp and witty, perfectly complementing their opposites-attract connection.

The story’s pacing kept me hooked, and the magical elements added just the right touch of whimsy. While the romance was sweet and swoony, the spice level was moderate—enough to heat things up without overtaking the story.

If you’re a fan of well-rounded characters, sparkling banter, and a touch of magic, this book is a must-read! I’ll definitely be picking up more from Erin Sterling in the future.

📚 #BOOKREVIEW 📚
The Wedding Witch (The Graves Glen Series, Book 3) by Erin Sterling
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Pages: 285 / Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: October 8, 2024

Bowen Penhallow has lived a lonely life locked away studying ancient magic all by himself. But it wasn’t always so. He had a best friend named Colin, who died in a magic spell gone awry, which Bowen blames on himself. So when Colin’s ghost begs him to attend the Yuletide wedding of his old girlfriend, Bowen can’t refuse. At the wedding, he runs into a work associate of his that he secretly harbors feelings for. And before you know it, the two are transported back in time to the Yuletide Celebration of 1958 and they have to figure out how to get back to the present.

This holiday witchy romance has it all: a Christmas wedding setting, time travel, witches, ghosts, and magic. Plus grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, one bed, and a fake relationship! I read the first book in this series but not the second, but I think you can easily dive into this one as a standalone.

Thank you, @ErinSterlingBooks, @Avonbooks, @HarperVoyagerUS, and @NetGalley for my gifted copy.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I love this series and was so excited to get to read the next book. I think you could read this as stand alone.

It took me a moment to get into this one, but I think that’s on me—I went in expecting a fall read when it’s actually a Yule-themed story! The storyline was cute, and I loved the cozy winter vibes. It made for a fun, low-stakes holiday read. While the beginning left me a little confused, things quickly fell into place, and the pacing picked up nicely. I’d rank this as my least favorite in the series so far, but I’d still be excited to read a fourth book if one is in the works!

This one is hard for me to review. I generally enjoy Erin Sterling’s books. The first two books in this series were good, so I was looking forward to this one. Sadly, overall this was a bit of a miss for me. While I enjoyed the relationship between Tamsyn and Bowen and the Yuletide setting, the plot had a lot of holes and the ending was too deus ex machina for me. The whole Declan story line was all over the place. For something that was supposed to be a central part of the story it could easily be removed and not change anything. In the end the whole book felt rushed and needed more fine tuning.

We're back with the Penhollows and Joneses, but with this third book we are transported out of Graves Glen.
A haunted castle, lost love, second chance romance, with a bit of a mystery to solve.
The chemistry between Tamsyn and Bowen is fantastic. This book had so many laugh out loud moments, which besides the romance was my favorite part of this book. I really enjoy this series, and I'm hoping there's another book in the series. However, this last romantic match-up seems to tie most of the main characters together.
Thanks so much to Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager publishing for this ARC!

I’m a big fan of Rachel Hawkins’ mysteries, so when I found out she wrote witchy, paranormal romances as Erin Sterling, I was intrigued. The Ex Hex, the first in the series, was not my favorite, so I skipped its sequel, The Kiss Curse. But after reading the synopsis for The Wedding Witch, I was willing to give Sterling another chance.

A couple of things up front…First, I think it’s really easy to jump into this book without having read the others in the series. There are brief references to characters and moments from the other books, but you won’t be missing much if you read The Wedding Witch first. Second, this book counts as both a Halloween and Christmas book, and you’d be fine reading it in either season.

In terms of the book’s content, Sterling always does a great job of incorporating comedy into her writing. There’s always a fun sense of humor and levity in her romances, which makes them the perfect titles to pick up when you’re looking for something light and relaxing . For this story in particular, I loved the ‘Parent Trap’ and time travel elements of the plot as those parts of the story made the book stand out from other witchy romances.

However, that lightness is often at odds with the more mature romantic scenes Sterling incorporates, which sometimes makes this series feel like a Halloweentown story with an R-rated twist. I know that works for a lot of people, but for me personally, it makes the story feel very disjointed.

I’m not sure if I’ll read more of Sterling’s romances, but if you enjoy cozy stories, with equal parts humor and steam, you’ll really enjoy this series.

The Wedding Witch is out now. Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the whole Ex Hex series. They were cozy, fun and adorable. I loved that Bowen fell head over heels so quick for Tamsyn. I loved their text message banter. The time travel was a fun addition. This is a good Christmas read. Would highly recommend this book and whole series for witchy vibes, charming characters and time travel.

Thank you for the gifted copy.

Is this really the final book in this series??? I'm so sad!

I love the witchy holiday energy from this book, and it was a fun in between spooky season/Christmas read. The banter and dynamic between Tamsyn and Bowen was fantastic, and there's one particular scene that was FIRE! I enjoyed all the tropes - time travel, forced proximity, ONLY ONE BED!!!! Watching Tamsyn and Bowen try to get the brooch and get Bowen's grandparents back together was fun, because I wasn't quite sure how they were going to pull that off!

I think one of my favorite parts was the end though, when a certain old woman made an appearance. I don't know why, but it made me really happy!

So much fun! And I didn't even know it was the third installment. I didn't need to. I liked the dynamics and the trivial, light romance. With gothic magic and cozy Christmas vibes, it was everything I needed right now. Our couple had awesome chemistry, and I totally see how they would work together—even in the real world, that would make sense. And time travel? Oh, I loved it!
