This was the cutest. The logic in some of the plot and the time travel was not the greatest, but I truly did not mind. I love this series so much and this was a great ending to it!

This was a cute and fun read! I didn’t know this was the third book in a series until after I finished it– and I plan on reading the first two installments (it can be read as a standalone for those who haven’t read the other books). I really like the main characters, use of humor, and the interesting circumstances that the main characters Bowen & Tamsyn find themselves in. The resolution of the story was a bit rushed – but overall it worked. Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for the eARC.
I remember enjoying the first two books in this series, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. This felt, in a weird way, unfinished. The plot was really nonsensical and did not utilize the time travel premise well. The romance, after an initial good start, progressed way to quickly and left me struggling to believe the emotional connection between the characters. The ending felt contrived and a bit stupid.
More than being annoyed, I'm more surprised at the lack of quality. There is no reason for the third entry in a series to be this amateurish.
I did like the dual pov, and nothing in this was offensively bad. I would just advise keeping your expectations low.
I read this book through NetGalley.
Still the witchy goodness I expected, but I think I missed the setting of Graves Glen. It was nice to see characters from other books though
**HUGE thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins Publishers for allowing me to read this ARC**
This is definitely my favorite book in the series! I loved the plot and the banter between Tamsyn and Bowen was fantastic! I devoured this book! I can not wait until this book comes out for all to read!
Another witchy little treat from Erin Sterling! Although The Wedding Witch was a little slower for me than the other two titles in the series, I enjoyed it! I liked that it took place away from Graves Glen because I don’t think that setting would have worked for Bowen, given he’s such a hermit. I also really enjoyed getting to know some new characters in the story. Of course, the happy ending was great and I liked the way everything turned out.
The pace was a little slow at the beginning, but it did pick up. The ending felt slightly rushed, but I’m not sure where changes could have been made to prevent it. Great character arcs and dialogue between the two MCs. Their relationship felt genuine and there were shared experiences where we watched it grow, so it didn’t feel like insta-love. Side note, Erin Sterling/Rachel Hawkins has *such* a way of writing sassy senior women—I simply adore her older characters!
Overall, it’s a 4/5 for me! My only ask is that we get an Emerald book now because I want to know about her adventures. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review The Wedding Witch. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you NetGalley and Erin Sterling for this advanced copy of The Wedding Witch to review.
Overall: 3/5 Stars
The Wedding Witch tells the story of Bowen, the final Penhallow brother and Tamsyn, a human who gathers magical objects for him. They both accidentally attend the same wedding for different reasons, and go through quite the journey in the process.
Pros:
- Cute premise
- lovely vibes
- quirky side characters
- more of previous characters in their happily-ever-afters
Cons:
- I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the characters. Felt forced.
- Didn’t love the time travel aspect
- Not sure the title really fit what the story was actually about?
I enjoyed the series as a whole, but honestly this one felt pretty weak compared to book 1 and 2.
I was thrilled to get an ARC of this series!
Bowen Penhallow, a loner who studies dark magic, is roped into attending a Yuletide wedding by his friend, the ghost, Colin.
Tamsyn is not a witch and but deals with magical artifacts and works for Bowen. After a secret, she sees the wedding as her chance for a money and a new life!
Bowen and Tamsyn surprisingly meet up at this wedding and it is a fun moment!
Little did they know, they would end up being sent back to 1958. They are stuck and have to work together to return to the present, all while dealing with the house's spooky history and their amazing chemistry!
This cozy read will be perfect for the fall and the holidays.
Bowen and Tamsyn's dynamic is classic grumpy-sunshine, and their instant attraction and “meet cute” was so fun!
I loved that we had previous characters form the other books in the series!
The Wedding Witch has the perfect mix of mystery, romance, and coziness to have you not wanting to stay in all weekend and read!
Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyage for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I'm always down for a witchy read no matter the time of year, but this one will be so fun for Fall.
lloved the time travel and fake marriage aspects.
It had me laughing the whole time and turning the page to see what would happen next. Not to mention a very very fun bath scene that had me blushing and kicking my feet.
I loved seeing the other characters from the series and their cameos. Bowen was the perfect grumpy witch and I loved his backstory. The way he looked at Tamsyn and loved her was everything. I really enjoyed this one!
Like the other books in this series, this one was a very cute romp through a world where witches are totally normal and the witchy things they do are commonplace. I loved Bowen, he is my exact kind of MC. Grumpy, tortured, soft on the inside. I loved the brief look into the past characters lives and the way things were wrapped up with the Panhallow brothers.
I will say though, this book is best when not thought about too hard. I know it's meant to be a cozy fantasy story, but the explanation is usually just "magic is crazy." How did the time travel work? They saved a whole person and that didn't alter the timeline at all? If the broach was magic in their time, how did it get to be that way if it was only made magic because they were back in time in the first place? See what I mean? If you think too long about the validity of it all, it kind of falls apart. And while "magic is wild" is probably a true statement in this universe, I would still have preferred a little more information.
Anyway! Super cute and a worthwhile read.
Erin Sterling starts with some grumpy sunshine, adds in a good dose of time travel and a dash of “opps, only one bed” to craft a clever spell that will keep this book in your hands until you finish. Well, unless you get distracted by some mistletoe.

As always, the books in this series are so cute and cozy. I loved this one with a perfect Yule (not Christmas!) setting. It's a fast read, and the plot doesn't dig too deep. If you haven't read the first two in the series, this could totally serve as a standalone, as it was in a different setting.
I adored Tamsyn, a ballsy delightful main character. The banter between her and Bowen was delightful. It's pretty insta-love if that turns you off.
Like others have noted, my only big issue with this book is how rushed the ending was. Questions were left unanswered, and things felt resolved a little too quickly.
Good vibes all around though, and perfect if you're looking for something to curl up with for a few hours on a cold day.
Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sending this eArc!
4/5 stars
This was a cute, cozy romantasy that follows the first two books in the series. This would be a fun book to read during the Yule/Christmas holidays. We follow another Penhallow brother (Bowen) and Tamsyn Bligh during a heist that takes a turn. There are ghosts, magic, and time travel. These two characters come together quickly and I would have liked to see more of a build up in their relationship between their time between the prologue and their meeting at Tywyll House. Some of the side characters are so much fun. I love how the ending came together and it was cute to see characters from the first two books here, although they are not necessary to read to understand this story.
I was given a copy by the publisher via NetGalley (thank you!) and all opinions are my own.
The Wedding Witch, the third in The Ex Hex series, features the final Penhallow brother, Bowen as he tries to rescue a friend while denying his attraction to Tamsyn Bligh. This opposites attract, witchy romance gives cozy vibes, serious humor, sultry steam (oh no, there's only one bed) laced with time travel. A perfect autumn read, fast-paced, snuggly, and delicious.
Fans of the Ex Hex series will love this tale of the third Penhallow brother. Witches, time travel, true love... the perfect combo in this cute Christmas story.
I was so excited about when I heard that there would be a third book in the series featuring Bowen Penhallow. I adored the first two books, and this one was just as great!
The Wedding Witch follows the connection between Bowen Penhallow and Tamsyn Bligh. At first a working relationship which turns into more. The characters were so adorable with fiery attraction and sarcastic banter throughout. I'm not usually into stories that have time travel, but it worked in this story.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
I love this series so much. It might be June but I was so invested in this Christmas witchy book. There’s fake dating, workplace romance, time travel and one bed. 🤩 I loved the atmosphere of the haunted manor and the all of the funny ghosts and spirits. This book was so much fun. I highly recommend.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for a review.
This past week and a half I have been immersed in Erin Sterling’s witchy world, reading the two books that came before this one. While this could theoretically be read as a standalone, it definitely is better if the first two books have been read first.
I’ve been intrigued by Bowen since the first book. The elusive mountain man Penhallow brother, full of mystery and intrigue? Right up my alley. I loved finding out what made him go all lonesome, and then begin to realize he loves Tamsyn and wants to be part of her world/his brothers’ world. I also really liked Tamsyn, which I was surprised about because in the first book, I wasn’t a fan of hers. But learning more about her helped a lot, and their adventure in the past made me really enjoy their relationship.
I absolutely loved this book! It’s so rare that a series gets better as it goes, but this one definitely fits the bill!! This is a super fun, magical witchy adventure with swoony vibes from start to finish! I highly recommend the whole series!
Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
I loved this book! Snatch it up if you are looking for a charming witchy romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the Winter Solstice setting in a Welsh castle, the time travel, and the witty banter.
The best part of a romance are the characters, and Bowen and Tamsyn have off-the-charts chemistry and I adored both of them. This is a fun and spicy read.
This is my favorite book on this series. Although I recommend reading the two previous books in the Ex Hex series for maximum enjoyment, I believe this could easily be read as a stand-alone.
