The Wedding Witch is the 3rd book in The Ex Hex series. It follows Bowen Penhallow (the brother of Ryhs and Wells) as he attends a wedding on behest of his dead friend Declan but while he is there, he runs into his coworker Tamsyn who is there trying to acquire an object that will finally allow her to retire. A wedding mishap and strong magic transports them to 1957 and they need to correct a wrong to get themselves back to their time.
I absolutely adored The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse, so I was very excited to read The Wedding Witch. This book gave Back to the Future vibes in the best way. It is set during the Yule season, making it feel festive and cozy at times. Bowen and Tamsyn have a really fun relationship with some great banter (Also the smut scenes were so good). The other books takes place in Graves Glen and that cast of characters, this book takes place in Wales and has an amazing supporting cast that had me laughing. While you can read this book without needing to read The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse first, I highly recommend those. Not only because they are fantastic but because it does give some added context to the story
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for giving me this ARC in return for an honest review.
Erin Sterling has done it again with her latest installment in the Penhallow series! This time, the story follows Bowen Penhallow as he seeks to fix a long-regretted mistake. He hires Tamsyn, a human acquirer, to help him find magical objects. Their working relationship takes a turn when a spell transports them to a Yuletide celebration in 1958, forcing them to navigate their feelings for each other while trying to return to the present.
The book is festive, whimsical, and delightfully spooky, perfect for cozy reading. Sterling's characters are engaging, and the story is beautifully written, with appearances from beloved characters like Rhys, Vivienne, Wells, and Gwyn adding to the charm. The plot picks up pace around 100 pages in, with small twists that keep you hooked. Bowen and Tamsyn's chemistry is palpable, and their journey is both emotional and entertaining. Fans of "The Ex Hex" and "The Kiss Curse" will find this book equally enchanting. Erin Sterling continues to deliver cozy, captivating tales that leave you wanting more.
Erin Sterling has done it again!
We’re back with the Penhallows, but not (really) in Graves Glen. This time, the story follows Bowen Penhallow, searching for a way to fix a long-regretted mistake that took a friend away from him. He hires Tamsyn, a human and an acquirer (who may be familiar to some from the series), to find objects for him. After months, Bowen is smitten but Tamsyn has a “no bosses” rule. What is a guy to do?
When the friends ghost (out of body form? Idk) appears and begs Bowen to go to the wedding of his true love, the last person he expects to see there is Tamsyn.
When yet another spell is cast, Tamsyn and Bowen find themselves in an impossible situation and have to find their way out of it, all while battling their feelings for each other.
Erin Sterling really has a way with these characters. I never feel bored, it was quite the opposite. I was hooked immediately. I love these characters and the story was beautifully written. The supporting characters had personality that made me want a spin off for their stories as well. I hope this isn’t goodbye to Graves Glen and these characters!!
I’ve been waiting years for this one!! Was so excited to see it available for request on NetGalley. It’s festive and whimsical, and I could not even wait for the holiday season to read it.
Were back with the Penhallow family, this time following Bowen, who I was always so curious about when reading of him in the other books! I loved the mystery and how everything wrapped up in this book. It was fun to see the past characters too (rhys and vivienne, wells and gwyn). They are such a hilarious group. I will say though that wells and gwyn’s story remains my favorite. But it was nice to see why Bowen was struggling with that happened in his past.
I absolutely love Erin's books and this series, so I was stoked to receive another ARC. Yet again this book has the perfect amount of coziness and humor. Love the characters too!
This author is great at writing a story that has a few small twists but is cozy. This story follows Bowen Penhallow and Tamsyn as they navigate their working relationship. This story was everything that the kiss curse and ex hex gave us plus more. We did get visit appearances from the old characters we know and love. 100 pages in and this book started to really pick up the pace. I won't give any spoilers but I will continue to read this author for my cozy reads another solid book Erin!

Loved this one! Great and fun read. Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for my ARC.
Thank you, NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager Publishing for this ARC. I am a great fan of Erin Sterling’s work the Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse, and this book did not disappoint!! I truly love her writing. It is fun, exciting and it keeps you entertained throughout the entire story. I love the two main characters. Their banter and romance was so sweet and gave a warm and cozy vibe to the story! I will definitely be rereading this book during the winter holidays. If you enjoy fantasy and witchy vibes and time travel, this is definitely the book for you. I also really enjoyed that the author included the two characters from the previous books. I just would’ve loved to have more information toward the end of the book but overall it was another great read from this author. I will continue to read more from her !
Banter & time travel?? Consider me sold. I loved this for the banter but it stays cozy and warm through the whole book. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did! I wish there was a little more backstory or development but it was still an amazing read for a lazy Sunday. Definitely will recommend to everyone
Erin Sterling always makes wickedly delightful romance stories that are bewitching!
I love how the female main character is not a witch but is still part of the witching world and with the captivating Bowen Penhallow. The plot is fun, silly, captivating and follows the cute charming town. I have been waiting for this one. Bowen has a secret- back in college his best friend, Declan, disappeared, only to reappear to Bowen as a ghost. Bowen has been trying to figure out a way to bring Declan back, which now involves Tamsyn. Bowen and Tamsyn end up at the witch wedding of the year in Wales and, after a spell goes terribly wrong, end up back in 1957. This story was so much fun! I love the banter and the time travel and the off the charts chemistry. I love the hilarity of the plot and the banter that goes on with them because it added so. much to their chemistry. It sets the time around Yule and will be the perfect cozy romance to read in the fall. It is perfect for fantasy and witchy fans that love a good time travel plot line and I cannot recommend this book enough! It is a must read!
The Wedding Witch is book three in the Ex Hex series by Erin Sterling, and it brought all the cozy, witchy aesthetics I loved in the previous two books. This book was light and fun, full of banter and wit from both main characters. I also enjoyed revisiting the couples and setting from books one and two, although I would’ve liked to see more of them.
Despite the warm vibes, atmospheric setting, and great characters, I felt like something was missing. Bowen and Tamsyn are both amazing, but their relationship was lacking, in my opinion. It was very rushed and insta-lovey, with barely any buildup. They had one in-person interaction, didn’t see each other for a year, and the next time they’re together, Bowen is in love with her. I found it off-putting and I was honestly confused where these strong feelings came from.
I’m giving the book three stars because I liked the characters and the setting, but there was definitely something missing with the romance and it didn’t capture my attention like the first two books.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins for the chance to read this ARC of The Wedding Witch.
This book is the story of the third Penhallow brother, Bowen, and the return of the free-spirited Tamsyn. After sparks fly between their first meeting, they settle into a staid and appropriate boss/ employee relationship, only to get caught up in the past when they are both called to a mansion, Bowen to attend the wedding of the long-deceased and turned-ghost Declan, and Tamsyn who is hoping to get one last big score.
I enjoyed getting to know Bowen's story though it didn't seem like the author delved as deep as I wanted her to on his backstory. And the time travel parts, which are admittedly hard to pull off successfully, didn't seem well thought out. Tamsyn and Bowen's story was cute and the series remains enjoyable.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the e-arc.
📣 a friends to lovers workplace romance with a time travel spin!

Bowen Penhallow. Brooding & brawny & blushing. Three amazing b’s. Also, he’s a Welshman 😎😍😍.
I don’t really see how the title of The Wedding Witch comes into play in the plot very much but this witchy romance by Erin Sterling is adorable & came into my life just when I needed a fun read.
Bowen Penhallow is looking for magical artifacts for a noble, if misguided, reason, & Tamsyn is the acquirer he hires (& pretty much immediately falls for).
Despite the fact that their mutual falling is apparent to the reader from their first meeting, there’s still a great sense of anticipation with this one. It doesn’t lose its zest.
With amusing family dynamics, a heist plan, a time travel twist, & a cariad reference or two, this fun & hot witchy romance delights 🪄.
4.5 ⭐️. Out 10/08.

This was the cutest. The logic in some of the plot and the time travel was not the greatest, but I truly did not mind. I love this series so much and this was a great ending to it!
3.5 Stars
This was a cute and fun read! I didn’t know this was the third book in a series until after I finished it– and I plan on reading the first two installments (it can be read as a standalone for those who haven’t read the other books). I really like the main characters, use of humor, and the interesting circumstances that the main characters Bowen & Tamsyn find themselves in. The resolution of the story was a bit rushed – but overall it worked. Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for the eARC.
I remember enjoying the first two books in this series, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. This felt, in a weird way, unfinished. The plot was really nonsensical and did not utilize the time travel premise well. The romance, after an initial good start, progressed way to quickly and left me struggling to believe the emotional connection between the characters. The ending felt contrived and a bit stupid.
More than being annoyed, I'm more surprised at the lack of quality. There is no reason for the third entry in a series to be this amateurish.
I did like the dual pov, and nothing in this was offensively bad. I would just advise keeping your expectations low.
I read this book through NetGalley.
Still the witchy goodness I expected, but I think I missed the setting of Graves Glen. It was nice to see characters from other books though
**HUGE thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins Publishers for allowing me to read this ARC**
This is definitely my favorite book in the series! I loved the plot and the banter between Tamsyn and Bowen was fantastic! I devoured this book! I can not wait until this book comes out for all to read!
Another witchy little treat from Erin Sterling! Although The Wedding Witch was a little slower for me than the other two titles in the series, I enjoyed it! I liked that it took place away from Graves Glen because I don’t think that setting would have worked for Bowen, given he’s such a hermit. I also really enjoyed getting to know some new characters in the story. Of course, the happy ending was great and I liked the way everything turned out.
The pace was a little slow at the beginning, but it did pick up. The ending felt slightly rushed, but I’m not sure where changes could have been made to prevent it. Great character arcs and dialogue between the two MCs. Their relationship felt genuine and there were shared experiences where we watched it grow, so it didn’t feel like insta-love. Side note, Erin Sterling/Rachel Hawkins has *such* a way of writing sassy senior women—I simply adore her older characters!
Overall, it’s a 4/5 for me! My only ask is that we get an Emerald book now because I want to know about her adventures. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review The Wedding Witch. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you NetGalley and Erin Sterling for this advanced copy of The Wedding Witch to review.
Overall: 3/5 Stars
The Wedding Witch tells the story of Bowen, the final Penhallow brother and Tamsyn, a human who gathers magical objects for him. They both accidentally attend the same wedding for different reasons, and go through quite the journey in the process.
Pros:
- Cute premise
- lovely vibes
- quirky side characters
- more of previous characters in their happily-ever-afters
Cons:
- I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the characters. Felt forced.
- Didn’t love the time travel aspect
- Not sure the title really fit what the story was actually about?
I enjoyed the series as a whole, but honestly this one felt pretty weak compared to book 1 and 2.
