The Wedding Witch - 3⭐️

I’m so sad that I didn’t love this one! I was absolutely obsessed with the second book. Cute & whimsical with some time travel thrown in. Fast read with short chapters. Something just felt superficial or not three dimensional.

This was a delight! I was reluctant to read this one, as I was not a huge fan of The Ex Hex, but this felt like a huge improvement. The plot was super fun and fast moving, I instantly rooted for the couple, and Erin Sterling's writing made me laugh out loud. This one follows Bowen Penhallow, member of powerful magical family, and Tamsyn, who isn't witch but works with them often, as they go on a romantic time traveling adventure. It somehow takes place during not one, but two weddings, and follows a very quirky family of witches on their spooky but also charming estate. I loved how obsessed these two leads were with each other, and I loved just how feel good the ending was. My one complaint is that this isn't quite Christmassy-enough. The author is taking on a lot here - weddings, ghosts, time travel and the holidays, and one of them is bound to fall to the wayside. Still, this was very fun and sweet and would do the trick for someone looking for something outside of the traditional holiday romance norm. I think this series would be a good addition to our library collection.

Thoughts

The Wedding Witch is the third book in the adorable Ex Hex series and this one is a bit of a holiday crossover as it takes place as Yuletide (around Christmas). Despite the cutesy cover, this really did not give as much 'holiday read' vibes and I think it could be read any time in the fall or holiday season. Despite it being part of a trilogy, I believe that this can be read as a stand alone since there is no direct connection to The Ex Hex or Kiss Curse except some mentions of other characters. This book follows Penhallow brother, Bowen, a recluse who lives in a cabin in Wales, and a promise that he made to his friend Declan to solve a problem by attending a Welsh wedding at Yuletide. Bowen and his employee, Tamsyn, both attend this wedding celebration, but for different reasons. When something creates a huge challenge for them, they must work together to get back to the present, despite the sparks flying between them.

This was a cute read and I loved being back in this cozy world with the Penhallows. However, I felt like the pacing and the chemistry with this book was just really rushed. I did not buy into how quickly Bowen and Tamsyn went from feeling the need to resist their feelings toward each other to complete acceptance with it. I am a huge sucker for time travel in books, but felt like that was the only super intriguing or interesting part to me in terms of the plot. The last 25% of the book felt especially rushed to me and I do not often say this, but I felt like it could have been a little longer.

If you are looking for a cozy holiday book, this might not be it, but if you enjoy the other books in this series, this is a great way to round it out, be back in this world, and take a fun little detour to another part in this family's history.

A cute little witchy book. It was fun to see more characters in this world get their love story. This book doesn't feel like a seasonal read s much as the other two.

The final installment of Erin Stirling’s Graves Glen series is a charming witchy holiday romance set during Yule and Christmas. Bowen Penhallow, a serious witch in Wales, hires American Tamsyn Bligh to help him find rare magical objects to solve a personal tragedy. Though Tamsyn has a rule against mixing business with pleasure, their attraction is instant. When Tamsyn takes on a job at a witchy wedding, they must work together to break an ancient curse.

I really enjoyed this book. The steamy scenes are well done, and the holiday setting makes it a cozy read. It’s a quick and delightful romance full of magic and heart!

Another very cute read by Erin Sterling! I have read every book in this series and love them all! They are cute little adventures with eccentric characters and fun plot lines. Fair warning, they are a bit woke, but still very fun and cute! This one was a good, fast read with a fun back to the future theme. Every one of the characters were fun and their own personality. These books are always the best for this time of year! A great read for fall and spooky szn!

This was my favorite out of the series! Probably because of the time travel aspect which was confused but made the series interesting. Also that Bath Scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A cute feel good holiday book. Not my favorite of the season, but an easy read. A little unrealistic at times.

I love that this installment of the Graves Glen series had a twist! Also, I love the Fake Dating trope, so this book had me on description alone! An absolutely fun, heartwarming, funny, and steamy read for the winter season!

This was a super fun and delightful way to end the Graves Glen series. I enjoyed Bowan and Tamsyn’s opposites attract/ Grumpy x Sunshine vibes. They had great banter and chemistry. It was a unique storyline and one I could easily follow (sometimes fantasy/magical storylines can be very confusing) and had a fun/surprise ending. It was nice to see all the Penhallow and Jones witches as well as the unique small town of Graves Glen.

Characters find themselves at a witchy wedding at an estate in the Welsh countryside. Tamsyn and Bowen each have their own interests but find themselves drawn to one another as well. They’re hit with a spell that transports them back to the estate in the 50’s and have to work together to get back to present day.

This was a super cute read with fun characters and a creepy-ish estate setting. I’ve enjoyed this series!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Erin Sterling, and Avon for providing this free ARC. This is my honest review! This published on October 8th.

This book was very boring and did not capture my attention at all. I have plenty of other witchy books to read so moving along. Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Sterling's witty banter and vivid descriptions bring the world of witches and magic to life. The historical setting adds a nostalgic touch, and the characters are both endearing and relatable. While the plot may be a bit predictable at times, the overall charm and cozy atmosphere make it a fun read for fans of romantic fantasy.

I wasn’t sure if this was supposed to be a fall book, like the first two in the series, or a winter book—I think it ended up being both. This is definitely not a Christmas book, but it is a witchy time-travel romcom that happens to take place around/leading up to Yule/Winter Solstice/Christmas Eve.

This story was short, medium paced, and does work as a standalone.

✨banter
✨one bed
✨time travel
✨witch x human
✨grumpy x sunshine
✨boss x employee

Bowen Penhallow has spent ten years trying to solve the disappearance of his best friend, Declan. He ends up hiring Tamsyn under an exclusive contract to find special artifacts that could help in his quest. When December shapes up to be a quiet month for Tamsyn while Bowen is with his family, she decides to take “one last job” and ends up at the same wedding as Bowen…the wedding of Declan’s ex fiancé. One thing leads to another and both Bowen and Tamsyn end up in the year 1957 with no clue how to return back to the present.

4 stars.

Such a charming read and perfect edition to follow-up to the Ex-Hex and The Kiss Curse!

This one felt a bit more compelling, engaging, and just realer than the other 2. The pacing was nice, the characters were a delight, and the connections were incredibly well done. The time travel is really well done and just overall hilarious. The tension is palpable, the angst is there, the dialogue is witty and enjoyable... and did I mention, there's only one bed??? I didn't know the tropes/microtropes going into this one and REALLY enjoyed that aspect! The spice is believable, the humor is there, and it just made for a fun read. Would be absolutely perfect to read for Halloween or the Christmas season as it has both, and does both truly well!

Thank you to Erin Sterling and NetGalley for the Arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is my favorite book of the series. I loved Bowen and Tamsyn. I feel like their relationship was so effortless and the angst was minimal and I liked that. I really enjoyed the time travel aspect as well.

Thank you for the eARC of this book! I have enjoyed the whole series but this might have been my favorite. It perfectly combines magical realism and romance for the perfect, cozy, fall read. Here are my thoughts:

One of the standout elements is the time travel aspect, which is woven into the plot. Sterling's imaginative approach to magic adds depth and intrigue, enhancing the narrative. The way the various threads of the story come together by the end is satisfying, providing a sense of closure.

Character development is well-paced, allowing for growth and transformation that feels genuine. However, the romantic relationship unfolds rather quickly, which might leave some readers wanting a bit more buildup. Despite this, the chemistry between the characters is palpable and adds to the overall charm of the story.
