Excellent addition to the series that is pushing the plot much further. This series and narrator are always so good and recommendable.

I listened to the audiobook of A Botanist’s Guide to Society and Secrets by Kate Khavari and narrated by Jodie Harris. I requested this title, not realizing that it was the third book in a series I had never read! However, it did not stop by enjoyment of the book. I hope to read the rest of the series and will read future installments.
I consider this a cozy mystery, and while there are moments of on-stage violence, the nature of this novel is very mellow. Who would have thought plants are worth killing people for? Khavari certainly causes readers to realize the importance of plantlife/the environment and how entire ecosystems could be destroyed if a person or government were to use the knowledge in war or for other unsavory reasons.
The ending leads me to believe we will get more of Ms. Everleigh, and the books, and I am excited to see what happens next. I would recommend this series.

Thanks NetGalley for the audio ARC to review.

I enjoyed this addition to Saffron's adventures than the last one. The plot was more well rounded and it was nice seeing more personality from some of the other characters. I enjoyed how the brother was written in and using the MC and side characters. Elizabeth is bad ass and I hope to see more of her. I also hope we get even more Alexander.

As always I adore the narrator. The production of this one was much better. The tone was even, there were no seam rips. I was thoroughly emerged all thanks to the narrator.

This book was an interesting read. It has interesting characters and a good setting. While I liked the book, it was hard at times not having read the series.

I want to start off by apologizing for a late review. I didn’t want to rush through this audiobook. Just like book one and two this book disappointment. The narrator does amazing job keeping me into this book. Saffron is still my favorite strong female character.
I missed being in this world after reading book two last year. But I am so glad that I finally got the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.
A new but old character named Bill shows up towards the end of this book. I don’t know if I could say goodbye to these characters that I have grown so close to. What new mystery could Saffron and Alexander get themselves into. I don’t want to give too much into this review. Without spoiling too much.
I really want to thank Netgalley and author allowing me the opportunity to listen to amazing book. I highly recommend this book and book one and two.
My reviews will be up everywhere.

I like the idea/plot of this book but I found myself extremely confused. It just didn't flow for me. Maybe if all three books were read closer together it would make more sense. I was not as engaged as I like to be and really wanted it to end. It felt slow and there were lots of twists and turns that I struggled to follow.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for ARC

As much as I wanted to like this book, I found myself bored and waiting for it to end. Perhaps it is because it is the third book (do not read as a standalone, it leaves the reader wanting) or because I found the protagonist, Saffron, to be insufferable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advance copy of this audiobook

Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy audio book of Botanist’s Guide.
3.5 stars rounded up.

This is 3rd in a series and it seems there will be more! What a fun cozy mystery. I especially liked the character of Saffron. She was very likable. Some of the events were complex and a bit unbelievable. I would definitely call this a cozy mystery and not so much a thriller. It got a little boring at times. I loved the 1920s London setting. And Jodie Harris did an amazing job as narrator. She kept me engaged and I loved all the accents she did for the characters. Very enjoyable read.

As mentioned this is 3rd in a series but it was my first. There were some allusions to events that happened previously, but it didn’t take away from this story and I believe it can be read as standalone (as I just did!) but I will also be interested in going back to number 1 and reading Botanist’s guide to Parties and Poisons.

Ooh this was my first book by this author and I loved it. The mystery was intriguing, the romance was well developed, the characters were all interesting (including their field of study).

Saffron and Alexander are quite a pair. She has to pull info out of him and he is still as protective and jealous (this caused a rift in book 2). But they clearly take a step closer to a more permanent commitment. The murder mystery was done well. It was fast paced and the murderer was surprising.

Now onto catch up on book 1 an and 2 and cannot wait to see where book 4 will go.

Kate Khavari’s "A Botanist's Guide to Society and Secrets" is the third enthralling addition to her mesmerising historical mystery series, featuring the brilliant botanist Saffron Everleigh. Set in London in 1923, the story follows Saffron as she returns from Paris and is quickly drawn into a complex murder investigation. Her former love interest, Alexander Ashton, asks for her help when his brother, Adrian, becomes a suspect in the poisoning of a Russian scientist working for the English government. Her unresolved feelings for Alexander add an intriguing layer of personal conflict as she delves into the mysteries surrounding the dead scientist. The plot thickens when her best friend Elizabeth’s war-hero brother, Nick, arrives in town and takes an immediate interest in Saffron. As she learns more about Alexander's secrets and Nick's mysterious background, Saffron and Elizabeth begin to suspect that Nick might be hiding more than he lets on.
When another scientist is found dead, Saffron bravely agrees to go undercover at the government laboratory. The stakes are high as she risks her career and safety to uncover the truth. The plot's twists and turns keep readers on the edge of their seats, leading to the revelation that some secrets are better left undiscovered.
Khavari’s writing is vivid and engaging, capturing the essence of 1920s London and the intricacies of botanical research. Saffron is a compelling protagonist whose intelligence and determination make her a standout character in historical mystery fiction. The interplay of personal and professional challenges adds depth to the narrative, making it a rich and satisfying read. I rated this book three out of five stars.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook. I have absolutely loved who they chose as a narrator for this series.
Saffron has returned from her botanist convention in Paris and now must face her decision to not participate in government work and is immediately whisked into a new investigation. After previously saying he would report her if she continued doing investigations, Alexander now must ask Saffron for her help to prove is brothers innocence. And of course one part of an investigation is never enough excitement for our Miss Everleigh, Elizabeth's brother Nick has suddenly popped up and is acting quite strange. With a second Scientist being found dead, Nick enlists Saffrons' assistance even more, but there appears to be a lot of secrets Nick is holding back. One big mystery is how Alexander and Nick know each other and why does their feel like their is animosity between them. Saffron must use her questionable methods, full determination, and knowledge of plants and poison to get everyone out of this mess.

I finished this with 24 hours. I loved the mystery in book 3! I have enjoyed all the books, but book 3 is my favorite! I loved the story of Sapphire's dad woven into this mystery, as well as her grandpa. Also, I am swooning over Alexander and Sapphire! I need more of them in book 4!

I received an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

The narrator did a fantastic job as always at bringing Saffron and her adventures to life. I love that this book picked right back off here book two ended. I think that as this series goes on Saffrons development stays steady and I love that. I also was thrilled that Elizabeth is more involved in the story. I always loved her in the first two books and it was fun to get to see her character more. The men as always in this book are a hot mess. And I say that in the best way. There is always some shenanigans to be had in the cast of men in this series. This series still remains one of my favorites and I think that they just keep getting better and better!

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced access to this audiobook.

I love audiobooks and have listened to Kate Khavari’s previous books in the Saffron Everleigh series so I was excited to continue the journey.

Narrator Jodie Harris did a great job with the narration. It was a nice mix of different voices for each character without being too over the top.

This story picks up not long after the second book ended and once again Saffron finds herself involved in a police investigation. The plot thickens as she finds out that the case involves a government research lab and its connections to Saffron through contacts, new and old.

Elizabeth is more prominently featured in this book and we are introduced to a few new characters that I imagine will play a larger role in future books.

I recommend this book if you enjoy mysteries, historical setting, and plants!
Looking forward to the next book already!

Saffron Everleigh Mystery returns with another murder investigation in the world of biology (that's my extent of knowledge in the domain). We wouldn't normally think about the subdivisions in this domain, but God - there were so many. The author has made it so easy for a novice like me to understand the terminologies that the whole research on bacteria/mould/fungi was unambiguous.

Our botanical researcher protagonist is presented with an opportunity to investigate her Ex's brother, who is currently suspected of murder. No sooner has she stepped into the mystery, another Russian scientist turns dead. As she navigates through the tangling mystery, her safety, career and the lives of several other scientists seem to be at stake.

A lot of characters, sideline stories and plot twists will keep the brain cells of the reader engaged. The mystery was fairly interesting with layered obstacles along with a unique narrative style. The series has been promisingly good with each mystery.

Saffron Everleigh is once again in the thick of things. A couple members of a horticulture crew have mysteriously died. Ashton’s brother is suspected and Elizabeth’s brother, Nick, turns up in town. Saffron and Elizabeth find their flat a popular place as the puzzle pieces start lining up. Is there a greater conspiracy behind these murders?

I love the voice of Saffron. The narrator does a wonder job of giving all the characters the spunk and flare they deserve to paint a broader picture of not just the characters but the world they live in. Highly recommend.

This third novel in the series was also well done. The gentleman in Saffron’s world cross paths with this newest mystery and she figures out what she is looking for in them. The mystery brings in some interesting botanical themes and addresses issues that were very important in research in the 20’s. Always a good read for a science-y type person like me. 4 stars.

Another enjoyable addition to the Saffron Everleigh Mysteries! Kate Khavari always keeps me guessing until the end and her characters are complex without being frustratingly so. I’m looking forward to the next installment!

Glad we got past the love triangle of book 2! Alexander is perfect for Saffron. Took away 0.5 star because apparently although Saffron is an amateur detective who has solved multiple crimes, she was also completely and inexplicably blindsided by the fact that someone who is questionably involved with investigating a murder is part of a shadowy government organization. Thanks to NetGalley, Kate Khavari, and Penguin Random House for an ARC!

Saffron is one of my favourite female leads. She is smart, honest and irresistible. But dear author, leaving us in such limbo at the end of the book is not fair. I hope we'll not have to wait long for the next book.

This time I listened to the book in audio format. Jodie Harris was a great choice for narrator. Her performance was exceptional.

I love this series, and this was a great new addition that captured what I loved so much in the first book.

I love following Saffron Everleigh and Alexander Ashton as they get into hijinx and solve mysteries. I'm a sucker for this type of series in general, but these books are written so well and I adore the characters. I look forward to the next installment!

I'd recommend this to anyone who likes a good historical mystery (set in the 20's), botany/science, and has enjoyed a series by CJ Archer or Victoria Thompson with a slight twist of Gail Carriger for flavor.
