thanks to netgalley for the arc in exchange for a review!
this was a short + cute graphic novel about friendship and i thought the story was really charming. I didn't see the "twist" (if you could call it that) coming and i was surprised but happy with the very ending!
unfortunuately, my arc was really low quality (like, almost see the pixels quality) and there was a huge blue and yellow watermark in the center of every page, which made it really hard for me to appreciate the arc---which honestly was the main reason I picked this up in the first place, look at that cover! maybe this book will work as a paperback so i'm giving it the benefit of the doubt with four stars. but if every copy looked like this, i would be really sad :(
This is a cute and realistic story about a girl who stands up for a classmate which causes her to be bullied too. After the classmate she stood up for transfers out she also transfers schools. When she gets there she is scared of things happening again. Though someone left a letter under her desk, she goes on a hunt to find all of the letters and on the way she makes new and old friends alike.
This is probably my all time favourite webtoon. The characters, the pacing, the story and the drawing style... everything is STUNNING. It's just so, SO GOOD. Everyone needs to read this.
Your Letter is the story of a girl named Sori Lee who moves back to her old town and starts finding mysterious letters.
I loved this book so much! I did not stop once I started it, I needed to find out how it was going to end. I loved the story itself and thought was pacing was amazing for keeping you on edge the whole time.
I loved the characters, they were all so well done. It showed their faults and worries, and made them feel so real. Sori and Dongsoon both had so much character growth and I loved them so much.
I am not generally an emotional person, but this book made me cry. I really cannot put into words how amazing I found this book.
This was a super cute graphic novel. It follows a girl named Sori, who is bullied after standing up for another student and ultimately has to transfer schools. In her new school, she finds a letter in her desk guiding her to make friends and learn about the new school she is attending so she can have a more positive experience. As she makes a new friend, they search for more letters together and ultimately uncover the mystery of why these letters were written in the first place.
The artwork in this graphic novel was great. I was expecting it to be a bit brighter, because the cover is a super bright blue, but the tones are quite muted (more greys and lighter shades). I really enjoyed the story of this mystery of who is writing letters to try and help Sori, and the friendship she made along the way.
The one downside was that I was a bit confused by the beginning of the book, and I wish there was one or two more panels at the end to give more of a conclusive story.
Overall, I think this is a perfect novel for teens who may be struggling in school, as it has a positive message and provides hope that there are ways to overcome bullying and uncertainty. I highly recommend!
4/5 stars
Thank you to netgalley and Yen Press for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.
A sweet and heartwarming story of friendship, connections, and the simple joys of letter writing. When middle-schooler Sori Lee stands up for her friend she never expects to become the new target for the bullies... and when her friend transfers, Sori decides it's time to get a fresh start for herself. When Sori moves to a new school she is struggling to fit in, still traumatized from the bullying at her previous school... until she finds a mysterious letter underneath her desk welcoming her to the school and leading her down a mysterious scavenger hunt. Sori follows the clues, trying to find the letter writer, and she begins to heal and open her heart up again, meeting new friends, and experiencing the small wonders of her new school. This was an absolutely delightful and heartwarming read, I would absolutely recommend this book for everyone, of all ages! It's so charming and sweet, it touches your heart and just makes you fall in love with the sweetness of the story. The artwork is gorgeous to look at and I can't wait to buy this book for myself.

5 freaking stars!
I literally teared up while reading this so have your tissues ready 😭😭😭. I love how the webtoon divided the chapters based on letters and the art style is unique which I love!
This was a really neat idea, I like the way that it was broken up into the various letters. The illustrations did a wonderful job of setting the mood of the story.
