It’s never the wrong time of year for a holiday read. Thank you Harlequinn and NetGalley. I really enjoyed this Emma style holiday romance.

A Christmas EMMA-inspired tale of a widow whose attempt to find the perfect match for everyone else leads to disaster. Great fun!

Sheila Roberts' The Merry Matchmaker is a charming holiday novel inspired by Jane Austen's Emma, and is the story perfect for the festive season. Frankie Lane embodies the well meaning but often misguided matchmaker who can't resist meddling in the lives of those around her. Frankie's attempts to help her younger sister Stef, her employee Elinor, her daughter Natalie, and her best friend Viola lead to a series of entertaining misadventures. The author balances humor and heart, which made me both laugh out loud and root for Frankie despite her well intentioned chaos. The dynamic between Frankie and Mitch Howard, the local hardware store owner, adds a romantic element to the story. Also I loved the descriptions of the small town setting and the festive atmosphere created a cozy Christmas read.
