Chris is a down on his luck and disgraced psychiatric nurse. As fate would have it, he comes across a billionaire neurotic artist, Perry, when he is in the middle of a mental episode and helps him through it. He then receives a job offer to come live with Perry and join his healthcare team as a live-in nurse, which could help turn Chris's life around. But there are secrets Chris is keeping and temptations he must avoid. Especially when his employer's much younger, sexy trophy wife Kara starts to proposition him, not just for an affair, but for murder of her husband. Chris has a new beginning, and he really likes the friendship he has developed with Perry, but he also thinks he's fallen for Kara and must decide how far he's willing to go for love.

This was a psychological thriller with twists and turns in the story. Without giving anything away, I was able to deduct what was going on pretty early on in the story from the clues the author gave throughout, so it wasn't much of a surprise ending to me. It was still an entertaining story. Chris is a well written character, and Kara is exactly how you think she would be, but for how neurotic Perry was supposed to be, I had trouble believing his character at times. The author did a good job setting the scenes, and the internal dialog of Chris was helpful by giving more clues to what was about to happen. I would check out another story written by Theo Baxter.

Aww I just couldn't out this down! It was not what I was expecting, had some amazing twists and was written so perfectly that I could picture these characters every step of the way! Really well plotted out and fleshed out characters. Def recommend

Thank you Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review!

I really liked this book. It had me intrigued from the start! I loved the mental health aspect and representation of neurodivergence. I loved Chris's character and thought he was the best portrayed in the book. This was a thrilling page turner, I kept second guessing my thoughts with each chapter. This was a great quick read!

I'm giving this 3.75! This was an easy read. However, it did start out a little slow for me. Once it picked up, though, I couldn't put it down. I didn't expect the twist at the end and loved it! This is my first Theo Baxter read, and although not my fav, it was still good and recommend to anyone looking for a quick and easy read.

Nice easy holiday read with a great twist towards the end
I feel like the book could have been shorter and story setting took longer than necessary.

I can always count on Theo Baxter for a fun, well written read. This one was amazing!

A story about lust, greed, passion and control, it leads to the question of just how far will we go for love. But is it really love or are we just being manipulated into thinking it's true love. If we have to go against our morals, how can it be love?

The ending was truly a surprise and made for a great read. I look forward to Theo's next book.

Thanks to Netgalley and Inkubator books for the advanced copy of this book

I think the slow start of the book made it really hard for me to get into. I found myself not picking it up as much, but when it started to pick up, it kept me entertained. This was my first Theo Baxter book. Although this one wasn’t my favorite, I will definitely check out more from this author!

A friend mentioned that this was a ‘read now’ on NetGalley so I looked into it and it sounded really good. Overall I enjoyed this easy read! It started out slow but built up to the finale with greed, manipulation, and a little bit of murder. The characters were easy to love or hate (especially Kara for me). The plot was very character driven and twisty. It was a very entertaining book because you weren’t really sure what was true and what was just an act. I did predict the twist for this one so it did put a damper on the excitement of the read.

This was a very engaging read. I found the plot new and interesting and pretty fast flowing. The writing was great and I look forward to other books by this author.

This was a fast read and had some good elements, but overall it wasn't a favorite of mine.. It had potential. A nice guy, down on his luck, finds an opportunity to get his life back on track. But he's weak and has all kinds of unoriginal problems which I tire of reading about: alcoholism, low self esteem, etc. And he starts messing around with the boss's wife. Kara was flat and featureless. Overall the portrayal of women was unflattering, bordering on insulting. The ending worked, although I saw it coming, but I almost didn't finish it. It's a fast, easy read, it just wasn't for me.

This was my first read of Theo Baxter. The blurb of this book was fascinating and I was keen to know what happens next till I solved it 3/4th of the way.

The Honey Trap shows Chris who loses his license due to malpractice and is now living in his car making ends meet. When he meets Perry, he is instantly employed and there starts an affair with this very young wife. As a reader you know that Kara is extremely manipulative and uses her charm to get her way.

It was extremely frustrating to see Chris do unethical things just to appease Kara but eventually you figure out the plot and realise it's not so intriguing. This was less mystery and more drama. I wish it had a stronger conclusion.

Overall it is a fun light read with a soap opera feel. I give this book 3 stars.

I thank NetGalley and Inkubator books for this E-Arc and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. Theo is now one of my go to authors! He has an easy writing style, and his books are just fun to read. This book has a little of everything from greed, manipulation to murderous intent. I was happy that this down and out protagonist had found a new job after his checkered past! But then he has to ruin it via an affair with his boss’s wife! The pace really picks up when she wants the ultimate-murder!

The Honey Trap starts out slow but then picks up the pace. This book had suspense, murder, and manipulation in it. The characters are very well written and it has a good plot.
This was also told in the third person point of view. 0

I have long been a fan of Theo Baxter's writing so I was thrilled to see this one pop up. Following a chance encounter, Chris moves in with millionaire Perry and his wife Kara - a cushy job with accommodation and meals, a great way to get back on his feet. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, turns out a whole lot can go wrong. Problems with the other staff, Chris and Kara falling for each other and a murderous plan.....

It started slow, but ramped up. I found myself rooting for Chris and really warmed to Perry. It was well written and I found myself constantly wondering where it was heading. The ending was a really clever twist.

Another great thriller from Theo Baxter. Can't wait for more.

This is another great Theo Baxter novel. It’s an easy but also engaging read that comes with plenty of twists and turns.
It drew me in quickly and kept me interested right up until the final page.

This book was incredibly twisted and I loved it! I didn’t know which way was up through more of the story; it kept me guessing. I hate when I can see the twist a mile away and stories are so predictable. This wasn’t predictable at all and I loved that! Kudos to a masterful story!

A slow start but soon got going.
Interesting plot and well written characters.
Not my favourite from this author but still a decent read.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

This was a little more slow paced than the past books I’ve read by Theo. I still kept reading because I HAD to know how it ended and it started to pick up the more into the book I got. I will say I wasn’t expecting the ending and I really enjoyed the book. This book is filled with plenty of suspense, along with twists and turns. Kara is extremely manipulative and for a majority of the book has Chris wrapped around her finger.

I really enjoyed this novel as it deals with a twisted story of appearance vs. reality! When Chris, who's been living in his car, takes a chance and helps stranded motorist Perry, Perry takes him home to his mansion and promptly offers him a job as he's neurodivergent and often has panic attacks and anxiety. What luck for Chris...until he meets Perry's gorgeous wife, Kara who promptly seduces him...and we're off! It's a wonderfully convoluted plot that has us constantly wondering who the "bad" guy is as everyone seems to want something! Had me gasping up until the bitter end!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!
