I loved, loved, loved this book! The author wrote with such openness and honesty about her decision to learn how to make pie for one year and how she reached out to make contact with various bakeries, as well as the success rate of who responded.

She then goes on to share her recipes, her insider tips (ie, are you in an area with more humidity - this will affect your pie!), and her adventures while making pies.

I have now purchased this book for a number of friends who like to bake, for new home owners as a house warming gift, and for anyone who shows even the least bit of interest in pie.

The review of this book was published when the book first came out in 2014 on Examiner.com's Baking Column for San Francisco, CA, as well as a compilation of favorite baking books. Unfortunately, the site is now defunct.
