Logic PuzzlesBook For Brain Fitness by Lana Barnes

Thanks to a great High School Teacher, I developed a love for logic problems, enjoying the way that math problems and reading intersect to help you solve interesting thought provoking problems. I truly enjoyed this book, with a variety of logic problems progressively increasing in difficulty. Just as I relished the first puzzle that I completed, I quickly moved through the assortment in this book, loving the different types and degrees of difficulty on the puzzles. I recommend this for puzzle enthusiasts. Both starting out and enthusiasts.

"Logic Puzzles Book for Brain Fitness" includes six different types of puzzles: logic grid, sudoku, calcudoku, battle ship, kakuro and masyu. Puzzles begin at an "easy" level and advance over time. I liked the variety of puzzles, the clear instructions, examples, and the varying levels. Improving my brain health is always a priority for me because Alzheimer's runs in my family, so I look forward to adding these puzzles to my daily routine in hopes of keeping my brain as healthy as possible!

I received a digital copy of this through NetGalley. I will say this wasn’t the best format for this one (and sending it to my kindle was disastrous) but the puzzles themselves were fun and I would absolutely pick this up in physical form!

Your thinking cap is required to enjoy this book. There is a line in an old episode of Bones: "I find intelligence soothing." As it turns out i do too so this book is perfect for users like myself. The author describes this book loosely as challenging for the brain. Rest assured, you are not simply thrown off the deep end into tough puzzles. We start with some simple puzzles partially solved with complete and thorough instructions. From there, things get progressively more difficult or as I prefer to say more challenging. We have logic puzzles and Sudoko as well as other type of puzzles geared at the thinking cap. I am a bit concerned that perhaps some of the puzzles may be a skosh small which will limit the appeal a bit.
Speaking of appeal, the logic puzzles are full of many different topics so puzzles should appeal to all.
Thanks to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Logic Puzzles Book for Brain Fitness : 90-Day Challenge to Sharpen the Mind and Strengthen Cognitive Skills Enlarged Print, Easy to Hard! This is a great book for older people to keep the grey cells healthy and buzzing. It starts off very easy and even the hard ones are not really difficult, A good book for fun rather then challenge. A lovely gift book for the older generation.

After having an opportunity to review an uncorrected proof of this book from the publisher, I must say that I am very interested in getting my hands on a physical copy. The book presents the reader with various types of logic puzzles that increase in difficulty as the pages progress. Each month, more challenging types of puzzles are added.

I would relish an opportunity to take a few minutes each day to work on my "mental fitness" -- and this book looks like a great practice gym!

This is very entertaining! I used my iPad to screenshot the images and wrote them out that way. I plan to purchase this for my father eventually! And a copy to use with my speech therapy clients

This was a nice progressive puzzle book.

There are six different types of puzzles included in this title. Logic grids puzzles, sudoku, calcudoku, battleship, kakuro, and Masyu. The setup of the book was nice, there are three sections, 30 days of easy puzzles, 30 days of medium puzzles, and 30 days of hard puzzles. At the end there is a bonus section with a mix of difficulties. This makes it easy to choose your skill level.

Each puzzle type has instructions that are easy to read and follow if there is a puzzle that you are not familiar with.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for this title in exchange for my very honest review.

I'm a NYT games addict so I thought a book of logic puzzles sounded like a great next challenge. It's fun and has some formats that are new to me. The rules are well explained and the puzzles are unique and progressively challenging.

I thoroughly enjoy puzzles, so I was surprised to see this on the list of possible reads! I worked through some of the puzzles (as much as I could with my phone and a piece of paper). The puzzles were fun and entertaining.

I love logic puzzles, all kinds. As a book this doesn’t really work in the e format, however as a physical book I’d definitely buy it. There are logic grid puzzles, sudoku and kakuro. It also comes in three levels of difficulty.
One puzzle a day for 90 days.

As someone who loves doing puzzles or just small little tasks while watching a movie/tv show, this book is perfect for me. I love all-things puzzles and this is nice to have. I love sudoku, logic puzzles, and everything this book has to offer. I would recommend this reading to anyone who is looking for a few puzzles to do. As it is a 90-day challenge, you can take your time and do them every once in a while, but I know I am the kind of person who binges a bunch of puzzles at one time.

Thank you Net Galley, Lana Barnes and Zeitgeist for this copy! All opinions shared are my own.

This logic book is a 90 day challenge that gets more difficult as the puzzles go on. You start off simple and work towards harder puzzles by day 90. The book teaches you how to complete the puzzles and explains what the benefits of doing the puzzles daily are. This book is great for those who want to take time every day to challenge themselves and keep their brains sharp and thinking clearly. Thank you NetGalley!

I really enjoy Logic puzzles and Sudoku so this book instantly appealed to me. It is organized
The other puzzles included are Calcudoku, Battleship, and Kakuro which help us strengthen our brain muscles. There are explanations for each of game so rest assured you will learn something new and feel comfortable in the process. The book is organized into three 30 day sections that increase in difficulty every 30 days. There is also a bonus section included that has a mix of puzzles. There is no hard set schedule to complete the 90 day challenge so you can take breaks or complete it in the set time frame. This puzzle book is set to be released July 30, 2024 so you can grab a copy for your holiday.

Thank you Net Galley, Lana Barnes and Zeitgeist for the opportunity to preview this book and the opinions shared are my own.

These puzzles are fun and really get you thinking! I like that they level up difficulty as you progress through. Only problem is trying to limit myself to just one puzzle a day.

I love logic puzzles, particularly grid puzzles. The book is organized with 30 days each of easy, medium and hard logic puzzles with bonus puzzles at the end. Each section contains a large percentage of grid puzzles with a couple of other types of puzzles mixed in. I personally appreciate the balance. Most other logic books contain a small percentage of grid puzzles.

Nice logic book that gives explanations of all puzzle types. It gets increasingly harder each month as it is designed for a 90 brain exercise. The harder puzzles I have never heard of before and I tried one and felt I could actually do it. I wouldn’t use this entire book for my students, but I most definitely will use the word puzzles.
My only complaint as this book is not designed for a digital copy. I assume the book will come in paperback and the puzzles can be worked right on the page, but the digital format means you might have to make copies of each puzzle. In that case, buy the paperback. I suppose you could use dry erase markers if reading on a kindle or an iPad

Pros: I read a Logic Puzzles for Brain Fitness book last year and was excited to see a new edition this year! The grid puzzles remain my favorite type of puzzle, but I enjoyed trying other types of puzzles in this book as well. I appreciate the detailed instructions for each type of puzzle throughout this book!

Cons: This really isn't a con because I assume most people will be using a physical copy of this book, but this book does not lend itself well to a digital format because it is easier (for me at least) to work puzzles on paper.

Thank you to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for the opportunity to read this book.

Here is another in a series of puzzle books for “brain training.” These puzzles may in fact be good for you (note the 90 day challenge) but I mostly do them because I think that they offer a fun challenge.

There are six different types of puzzles included in this title. They are logic grids puzzles, sudoku, calcudoku, battleship, kakuro, and Masyu (a puzzle with which I was unfamiliar). There are three sections, each of which includes some of the puzzle types, with harder puzzles being added as one goes along. Puzzlers can choose to go in order, or if they feel more skilled, they can advance to a harder section. Try puzzles that you already know that you like or learn something new. There are full directions for each type. However, the puzzles are approached, have fun!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for this title. I plan to get the hard copy of this title so that I can do all of the puzzles. All opinions are my own.
