I love all things Nasa and I believe the Challenger launch was a seminal moment in time for an entire generation of young people, much like the Kennedy assassination had been for an earlier generation. Because of this, I was eager to read Challenger: An American Tragedy. Kennedy's voice of Shuttle Launch Control, Hugh Harris, pulls back some of NASA's curtains to reveal some of what happened that day. The story can be a bit tech-heavy and that may dissuade some readers. That would be a mistake. This is overall a moving look at a terrifying moment in human (not just American) history.
