This was a great story with some of the most beautiful scenery descriptions I have read.

Adam and Evie were strong and vulnerable and feisty.

Evie’s life is a mess, but she has one last chance for a fresh start—by joining a matchmaking tour in Việt Nam. Once there, she meets Adam, a grumpy workaholic who's equally sceptical about the whole setup. Despite their contrasting personalities, sparks ignite as they embark on adventures together, discovering that sometimes love appears when you’re not looking for it.

This book was an enjoyable read. The plot was engaging, and I especially enjoyed following Evie and Adam on their excursions through Việt Nam. The setting added charm and gave the story a unique, refreshing backdrop.

The romance was mostly cute if a bit 'insta-lovey' at times. I enjoyed their banter and Adam's pining for her, but the meddling by Ruby and their father and the resulting miscommunication felt a bit heavy-handed. This trope slowed the story down and felt more like a forced attempt to create tension than an organic part of their relationship. (Miscommunication never works for me)

Some character choices also didn’t quite add up—like Evie continuing to text her ex after he abruptly fired her. This felt like an unnecessary contrivance to stir up miscommunication, rather than a decision consistent with her character.

Overall, Adam and Evie’s Matchmaking Tour offered plenty of sweet moments, especially in its early stages, and the Vietnamese setting was a true highlight. However, the forced drama and certain character inconsistencies made it challenging to fully invest in their love story.

Evie Lang’s beloved Auntie Hâo has passed away and wishes to leave her beautiful San Francisco home to Evie - if Evie goes on a matchmaking tour, around Vietnam, within three months of receiving this information. The clause isn’t that she has to find love (which is good as she’s already dating somebody in her English department) but to go to her ancestral homeland with an open heart, and see where it leads her. She’s not convinced - until she discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her, and she decides she has nothing to lose, and, maybe, a whole lot to gain.

Meanwhile, Adam Quyen has been asked by his sister, and business partner, to attend their first matchmaking tour not just as an attentive part-owner, but as an active participant. His long term relationship has recently broken down, and she thinks it would be good for him to know what the tour is like, and what it can do.

Both Adam and Evie are instantly drawn to each other - although not necessarily in a good way, after an initial accidental encounter on the streets of Ho Chi Minh city - but over the tour their feelings towards each over evolve. But with multiple matching making possibilities, and the pressing weight of careers and family expectations, the course of true love never did run smooth.

I really enjoyed this book! The story feels so fresh and vibrant, as we move through so many gorgeous Vietnamese locations, and see these characters grow and reach out for what they truly want out of life.

Adam and Evie aren’t always the best at communicating but that makes sense - they’re both in a confusing period of flux in their lives, and not only are they contending with their own thoughts and feelings, others are often butting in and meddling as well.

(Also, I have to just mention the cave scene. Not saying anymore, but goodness. Shout out to the cave scene.)

Overall, it’s a story about being brave, cultural identity, taking the opportunities life gives you, and breaking away from familial expectations. It was a joy to read.

While I appreciated the cultural elements that were the backdrop to the story - these were written with care and were refreshing to read about - I crucially wasn’t won over by the main couple. I was not a fan of Evie and Adam’s ‘meet-cute’, and my feelings towards their relationship never improved. I didn’t believe in their almost instant antagonism and their supposed undeniable chemistry. This dyanmic came across as forced and I didn’t find it romantic. Unfortunately, this meant that I wasn't invested in the outcome of their relationship. This was a real shame because this rom com contained a lot of great ingredients.

This is every Rom com girlies dream and I can just say the cover is TO DIE FOR.

The romance is one that keeps your heart racing and warm. It’s my favourite combo.

It felt very emotional at points and I loved the message of being led by your heart!

Oh my god, this book was definitly better than what I expected and I truly enjoyed it SO MUCH. I couldn't put it down and I really think that the author delivered what was promised.
The tropes were super well excuted and I loved every single one.
Please give this one a chance - it's totally worth it!

Having visited Vietnam a few years ago this book instantly took me back to its wild beauty and extremely lovely people. I’m not usually a big romance reader but I really loved Adam and Evie’s story and all the interesting characters we meet along the way. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good adventure packed love story

This book was a really enjoyable comfort read that I will continue to come back to when I want a cozy evening. It was so lovely to experience a modern romance book that wasn’t primarily set in the UK or America, and getting to hear about the beautiful landmarks that all the characters were able to experience in Vietnam was really exciting.

The pairing of Adam and Evie was really fun to read and it was interesting to see how their lives had differed although they both shared a similar heritage. Evie being a Vietnamese-American city girl that hasn’t known anything but her western life, and Adam growing up with a strict traditional family in the heart of Vietnam. The banter between the two was very entertaining and it was awesome to see how each character found their person, allowing each and every one to grow into their true selves.

I really appreciated the way the book deals with loss and grief, to see Evie gradually heal and feel closer to her Auntie Hào and her history was really therapeutic.

Rich with culture, beautiful scenery and joyous banter, Adam and Evie’s Matchmaking Tour was a refreshing and heartwarming read that really brought back perspective of what’s important in life.

The first 60% of the book was so good and I felt like it could have had the potential of being over a four-star, but when the couple got together I started getting annoyed by both of them, also I feel like the family relationships are where really interesting and I want to know more about them, especially when there was some type of conflict, but the author didn't explore them enogh for me to relate to them.
Another thing that give me the ick, but that's totally on me, is the nickname for evie, that was 'baby' and I hate that.
But in the end I feel like this is a really good romance and if you like the main characters you're gonna really love this book.

A gorgeous opposites attract romance set against the backdrop of Vietnam. Really interesting insight into a different culture, and I loved the setting and its impact on both the characters and the plot. Really really lovely!

I liked reading this book from start to finish. I didn't devour it, but it was a nice read of both entertainment and engagement. I really liked how the narrative was set in Vietnam and how prominent it was within the storyline; it felt like a genuine part of the narrative rather than it just being a backdrop to a relatively mediocre narrative. I think this really helped to bring the scenarios to the heart.

It was a romance novel, but it also felt like a romance novel within themselves. It felt like a lot of the book was spent trying to demystify previous stereotypes and misconceptions about others and it felt really nice to have that element of self-growth throughout,

The premise of this was the perfect set up for a romance, plus our characters touring Vietnam was a great way to keep them in close proximity. This could actually make a great adaptation for that reason. Outside of the love story, it was fun to see the trip through Evie. I enjoyed Evie as a character too. The downside is I just didn't buy into the romance. Adam and Evie have an instant spark but I could never quite see why. It all moved fast but never really felt earned. Plus when the author was going for flirtation, I found Adam often came off smarmy instead. A shame because there's a great setup here and a solid cast of supporting characters.

It was also lovely in this book to enjoy the travel and the descriptions of all the beautiful places in Vietnam they visit along the way!

It took me a little while to get into this one and then once I did - I loved Adam and Evie!

It was fun and exciting, I loved the locations and just felt the story was great. I'm glad I got to read this book and thank you NetGalley for letting me read this.

Adam & Evie’s Matchmaking Tour by Nora Nguyen is the kind of book that sneaks up on you. I have to admit, the beginning felt a little slow, and I wasn’t immediately hooked. But at some point, the story completely swallowed me whole and didn’t let me go until the very last page. Once I got into the rhythm of the characters and the plot, I was all in.

The dynamic between Adam and Evie is charming, and their journey together is filled with sweet, funny, and heartwarming moments. The matchmaking aspect adds a lighthearted, whimsical touch to the story, making it a delightful escape. What really caught me was the way their relationship developed organically. It didn’t feel rushed or forced, but instead grew naturally through shared experiences and moments of vulnerability. By the time the tension between them built up, I was completely invested.

The author’s writing is both clever and emotionally charged, especially in the second half of the book where the pacing picks up and the stakes get higher. The romance felt authentic and satisfying, and I loved the underlying message of finding love not just in others but also in oneself.

This book is definitely one of those hidden gems that surprises you as it unfolds. I ended up loving it much more than I expected, and I’m already looking forward to reading more from this author!

Adam and Evie’s matchmaking tour is a light and heartwarming read. I loved touring Vietnam through Evie’s eyes, and the sense of connection she has with her father and aunt. I really enjoyed the slow burn of Evie and Adam’s relationship as they explored the realities of their different worlds, responsibilities and families.

The supporting cast of characters were dynamic and entertaining, and I finished the book feeling like I’d been part of the tour group myself! A wonderful feel good read.
