For the Record is Juliana Smith’s best book yet! This book was just the sweetest thing! Adam and Rachel were so cute and their love story was heartfelt and emotional.

Adam is such a cinnamon roll! A grumpy panther who's actually a teddy bear (as Rachel put it). The way he pined so hard for her and took notice of everything about her? Ugh! I need a man like Adam Wells ASAP!

I really admired Rachel, too. She really stepped up for her dad when he needed her and she took on so much for him. It was so special and it showed how strong she was. I also just loved her dad, through everything going on with his mind, he still knew that Adam was the one for his daughter and he was their biggest supporter. I do think I would've liked it if there was a bit more drama with Rachel's mom and sister, however it wasn't really needed.

This book was a slowwww burn (which I love) and although I was a little frustrated with the two of them for not admitting their feelings sooner, it made the moment they finally did that much sweeter. I've fallen more and more in love with the entire Wells family as the series has progressed. I cannot wait for Crew's book as it is bound to be sweet and hilarious—just like Crew.

Things I Loved:
- Accidental Vegas wedding/marriage of convenience
- Friends to lovers
- Closed door
- He falls first
- Age gap
- Secret pining
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Cinnamon roll/tattooed mmc
- Slowwwww burn

Thank you to Juliana Smith and NetGalley for the ARC! Congrats on the new release. :)

Waking up accidentally married to your best friend is one way to start your day! Rachel and Adam find themselves thrown together in the most serious of ways, but decide that there are multiple reasons why this just might be the best whoops ever.

Rachel is a character I was able to really connect with. Her love of music and her dad are so sweet. Adam really only feels like himself when he’s around Rachel - I love that no matter how their friendship began, he always puts her first and I really enjoyed how he stepped up even more once he found out about their wedded bliss.

This is a closed door book, but you don’t really seem to notice it because their moments of heat are so sweet and had me kicking my feet and giggling.

Rachel’s life is more than complicated and Adam steps in to be the solid rock Rachel’s been wishing for. Their journey is not without bumps, but the love and respect they show each other really helps them in the long run.

4/5 stars!

For The Record, the 4th installment in the Wells Family series by Juliana Smith blends major of convenience and friends to lovers so poetically. This might be my favorite Wells family love story! Rachel and Adam's accidental Vegas wedding sets the stage to answer the age-old question of whether what happens in Vegas truly stays there.

Rachel, practical and focused on her job and father, initially sees her accidental marriage to Adam as a pragmatic arrangement to navigate life's challenges. The chemistry between them, however, crackles with an undeniable attraction that neither can ignore.

I typically don't enjoy different timeline books, but this was done well. It was so nice to watch the early stages of Adam and Rachel's friendship blossom, and how it was reflected in their current situation. I am a sucker for a friends-to-lover situation and this one was perfect!

What sets this book apart is its characters. Rachel is a refreshingly realistic protagonist, balancing her life with a growing realization of what Adam means to her beyond friendship. Adam, in turn, is portrayed with depth and vulnerability, grappling with his feelings while navigating the complexities of their unconventional marriage and friendship.

From sourdough starter mishaps to heartfelt revelations, For the Record is one you don't want to miss!

Juliana Smith and the Wells Family series never disappoints! If you're looking for a soft, sweet rom-com with a hero who perfectly embodies Taylor Swift's "Down Bad," this book is for you.

This book has it all, from the friends-to-lovers and grumpy x sunshine tropes to the hero who is quiet, tattooed, and active duty military, while the heroine is a flirty, music-loving ray of sunshine. Adam falls first and harder, with his tough exterior melting into pure softness for his girl, and I couldn't get enough of it. There's even a marriage of convenience thanks to a wild night in Vegas, adding an extra layer of fun and romance.

♾️♾️/5⭐️

I am absolutely furious with myself for not having read this series before. They've been on my tbr forever and it took me getting a For The Record ARC for me to finally have the utmost privilege of getting to know the Wells Family and all of the other amazing characters and I am completely obsessed.
So if you're like me, and have these amazing books on your tbr, go read them all immediately!!! (From my experience with having read only the fourth one so far, I feel like they can all be read as standalones—go read all four though🤭)

This book felt like such a warm, comforting hug. I am completely in love with Adam and Rachel and I cannot wait to go back and read the other ones! It was all that you could wish for: a romcom, funny, sweet, swoony and so wholesome! Fell in love with both of them instantly!!

Strangers, to best friends, to accidentally married, to the most adorable couple! Adam and Rachel have a long history of drinks, texts, secret meetings, fights and A LOT of understanding. They understand, accept and appreciate the other since the very beginning and it's like their souls just instantly connected.

Adam, the oldest Wells' sibling, army para rescue and the personification of "looks like he could k*ll you, is a cinnamon roll". He may look grumpy and distant, be he will go above and beyond for those he cares about! And also his words are few, but from the bottom of his heart. He's protective, caring and so so kind.

Rachel, my precious girlie, and the meaning of radiant! She's been through so much heartache and keeps on shining through! I relate to her in a lot of ways (yappers through and through🤞) and her character development helped me heal a bit more.
Also, her relationship with her dad was heartbreaking (for what they're going through) but at the same time so heartwarming, tender, raw, funny and cute. Juliana wrote it all with such care and kindness, it was beautiful to witness.

Adam, Rachel and all the side characters were so well written and so much fun to get to know! Rachel's dad and the Wells' Family🥹🥹 played such important roles in the story!

I am not the biggest fan of dual timeline, but these flashbacks helped us get to know more of their history, and it all worked well together.

Incredible book I obligate you all to go read immediately!😌

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC!💜

DNF at 23%, sadly.

Rachel and Adam have been secretly friends for a few years after meeting at a bar and hooking up. Why did they keep their friendship a secret? Unknown. They didn't really need to.

It’s dual timeline and POV. Switching back and forth each chapter to the present/past in each of their perspectives made the story feel a little disorganized. And I usually loooove a then/now timeline. I think here, it lacked some structure, so the shifts didn’t feel connected.

He’s in the military and she’s caring for a sick father. They get drunkenly married in Vegas, and Rachel floats the idea of staying married so that her sick father can get on Adam’s good government health insurance. I didn’t know that was a thing you could do? Get your bag though, girl! It feels more like a commentary on our bad healthcare system than anything else, to be honest.

There’s a lot of religious undertones and conservative values in this book. The word “females” was used right out of the gate in the first chapter. It wasn’t really for me. However, I’m sure that’ll work for other readers. It is kind of funny though that the plot of such a conservative leaning book is essentially about defrauding the government.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my advanced digital copy!

A fun read! I previously read 'Signed, sealed, delivered' by Juliana Smith. And I absolutely did not click with the characters. Luckily I loved Adam and Rachel! I loved the friendship between these two characters and I loved the role music played in this story!

I am kinda annoyed with how Crew was portrayed in this story. He felt ADHD coded but it was all talked about in a joke-y negative tone, it sometimes even felt a but judgemental. So I'm very curious to see the next book in the Wells Family series, in which Crew will be the main character!

I don't have someone in my life with dementia so I can't speak on the acuaracy of the early onset dementia representation. But it talked about grief in an honest way. Grieving the future you thought you would have. Grieving bad days. Grieving loss. But also enjoying the moments you have together. The good days. I was glad to see it showed a variety of days and how that affected her father. Not only the good days where he was present and had a clear mind!

Adam is in the military. And it wasn't talked about much honestly! But I do wonder how they will navigate this in their relationship as a married couple with firm roots. That wasn't talked about at all, which confused me a little. As their reunification was kinda dramatic (not in a bad way tho!!) Maybe it will come up in Crew's book, who knows.

The last 60 pages aproximately were a bit of a dissapointment to me. But I really really enjoyed the rest of the book! And the then/now chapters and double POV had me wanting to read more to find out what exactely happened between them. All in all would recommend!

this was one of the most cheesy and cute books i've ever read! i really loved it to the core and i feel like this book found me when i needed it most. if you're looking for something sweet and light, for something cute and summery - this book is for you. it's a romcom and if you love books that make you giggle and kick your legs, you should definitely check this one once it's released.

at first, i was really anxious as i haven't read previous books, so i thought that i might not see references or might not understand the story at all because i don't know the backgrounds of characters. however, this one could be read as a standalone, i actually enjoyed reading it as a standalone and i can guarantee you that you will understand everything without knowing what happened in previous books. still, i promised myself that i'll read the first three books this summer because i swear wells family is one of the cutest families i met! the way they were there for each other, their family dinners and gatherings - they are just so wholesome that it's impossible to not love them.

the main characters - rachel and adam were also amazingly mesmerising. i fell in love with them and their story instantly as it kind of reminded me of my own, their development from strangers to friends to lovers really made me feel things as the pacing felt so real and yet so emotional. their chemistry shined through pages and made you root for them to finally sort their shit out and say everything they were thinking, but at the same time it made you want to savour every little moment rachel and adam had, every little interaction, brush of hands or innocent touch. they were so good, so well structured and i absolutely loved every bit of them in this book.

I received the copy via NetGalley for my honest review.

I wanted genuinely to dive into this books. First off, the e book was black? no it wasn't my settings it was like they scanned it and uploaded it. Secondly, I love an accidental Vegas Marriage, especially when the couple decided to keep it, however, this was not it. I utterly despise the then/now storyline, it makes it hard to follow for me. Had it been in order I would have enjoyed it. The plot based on the description felt somewhat like the movie 'Purple Hearts'. I was hopping the book will be much better than the movie however it was not it.

The author has done a great job no doubt, but because I mainly skimmed through the book and aside from the hard to follow timeline according to me, I will give this book a 2.75/5 rating.

Rachel is struggling to take care of her father, who has dementia. She works at a record store and takes care of her dad. One day, she meets a man at the bar that she connects with. But she doesn't realize that he is her best friends' fiance's brother. The two have a fling and then secretly communicate, becoming friends. At her best friend's wedding, they accidentally get married and decide to stay married for his military benefits. What follows is the story of their fake marriage, which they both hope becomes a real life romance. I absolutely *loved* this book! I will be reading the rest of the series stat.

Juliana Smith and the Wells Family series never disappoint me! If you’re looking for a soft, sweet rom-com with a hero who is the definition of T Swift’s Down Bad, this book is it.

This book has:
•The friends to lovers and grumpy x sunshine tropes: The hero is quiet, tattooed, and active duty military, and the heroine is the flirty, music-loving sunshine to his grump☀️🌻
•He falls first and harder: Adam is the definition of a tough exterior who is only soft with his girl, and I ate it up!
•A marriage of convenience courtesy of a drunken night in Vegas 🏙️

Thank you to Juliana and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED Rachel and Adam’s story! The time lapses were perfect and I had fun getting to see their full progression from friends to lovers. Perfect amounts of sass, drama, and spice. Awesome book 🙂

This romantic comedy is about a couple of best friends who, as a result of their too many drinks; They end up getting married in Las Vegas.

The next day, without remembering anything, Adam reminds Rachel of the big, not-so-big decision they made 😂🙈💍

Instead of annulling their marriage, they decide to analyze the benefits and the rest is history...

Analysis: narrated alternately with the two points of view of both protagonists, it gives you more insights into what these characters think and feel.

I liked that at the beginning of each chapter they give you the name of a song which makes you visualize and get into the mood of what you are going to read. 🎶🎶

Entertaining book, very sweet and easy to read. The story is unprecedented and very funny if you want to have a good time.

I didn't give it a perfect rating because that passion was needed since the attraction of the main characters was powerful (not only physical but mental).

It is a somewhat personal book for the author, since the protagonist's relationship with her father is inspired by that of the writer with her father.

I loved the mix of songs!! A mix of James Taylor, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, Led Zeppelin! The reading experience enhanced me and made me very happy.

In this case, what “happens in Las Vegas, definitely did not stay in Las Vegas.”

I loved reading about Rachel and Adam's love story. Rachel is so selfless in taking care of her father and the record store they loved together. I think it was so touching that they wanted to work through her dad's bucket list but wish they would've included him in it more. Great read!

“We’d be fine because we’d be together. And that was enough.”

Well…Julianna has done it again. This book was hands down my favorite read of 2024. Just wow. It’s hard to put into words how amazing this book was. The storyline was based on a fake marriage between best friends that were possibly more. I was shocked how wonderful their friendship played out. Rachel is our always put together female main character who has a lot going on in her life. She is the sole family member taking care of her father and it’s a struggle to make ends meet. Adam (our main male character) is an introvert who finds himself in a “something more” relationship with the girl that makes his world work. I loved watching their love story unfold. The family dynamic, the banter, the loyalty and commitment, it was perfect. I loved this book so much. And you HAVE to read the author note at the end. Just you have to read it! It was beautiful.

4.5 stars

This was such a fun read! Rachel and Adam were so believable in their love and friendship that the book just flowed. I am a complete sucker for best friends to lovers and this book did not disappoint. Then add on that they got married in Vegas——sold!

I love how Adam was such a grump but when it came to Rachel he was so soft for her. Their chemistry was so believable which caused their story to become a beautiful adventure. The duel timeline really worked perfectly for this story and brought such a cool element to the story.

This was my first time reading Juliana Smith but it definitely won’t be my last, now to go back and read the rest of the series!

The absolute cutest besties-to-lovers romcom! I read this book in one setting, and seriously could not stop giggling over Adam and Rachel's story.

I've read the other three books in this series, and I think this one might be my favorite. I absolutely loved grumpy military man Adam getting roped into a friendship with goofy artsy music-lover Rachel, and I loved the marriage in Vegas aspect.

Dialogue is my favorite part of a book, and the dialogue here was so cute and so real, and I saw myself so much in Rachel just through her interactions and conversations throughout the book.

I absolutely loved the story flipping between the past and present day, filling in the gaps in their story and allowing the reader to really fall in love with these two. Honestly my favorite read of the summer so far!

For The Record is an extremely cute story of unexpected love and a deep connection between Adam and Rachel. The story begins with a spontaneous Vegas wedding that turns into a marriage of convenience, but of course my loves gotta fall in love! Adam is initially portrayed as grumpy and reserved, but he ends up being extremely caring despite struggling with verbal expressions of love. Rachel is vibrant and caring, and she navigates her relationship with Adam while also caring for her father.
Although it can be confusing at first, the book is told in dual timelines. It blends into the past and present to tell their story, but I really appreciated how much depth it brought into the telling of their relationship. It was a new one for me!

The tropes are:
Dual timeline narratives
Accidental marriage in Vegas
Grumpy/sunshine dynamics
Age gap romance
Tight-knit family bonds
Music enthusiasts
Dual POV storytelling
Closed-door romance

Ugh where can I find myself an Adam? He’s seriously the sweetest most caring man ever even though he didn’t know how to express it in words. His actions really showed he loved her.

I loved Rachel as well. Her relationship with her dad was so sweet and she was so caring and strong to take care of him.

I loved how the story went from the past and present with dual timelines but then the past caught up to the present.

Loved the book!

Read if you like:
- dual timeline
- accidental marriage in Vegas
- grumpy/sunshine
- age gap
- tight knit family
- music
-dual POV
- closed door romance

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC!
