It was okay but I DNF as it just wasn't my cup of tea. I tried picking it up a few times even after a while to see if I would be in the mood later but unfortunately this just wasn't for me.
This book follows Liss as she finds out that she is the King’s grandaughter and her grandmother hires a bodyguard for her protection. What could possibly happen? 😜 if you love the whole royal trope this book hits the mark. If you loved the book “Twisted Games” I feel you will also love this one. Highly recommend

This was unexpectedly very fun. I enjoy a good fast burn and that's exactly what this gave me. They had really good chemistry from the start and it only went up. He was able to open up to her like he hasn't ever done and it warmed my heart.
I received an arc through netgalley.
Firstly a massive Thankyou to Rebecca Chase and Netgalley for this ARC

If you’re into The Princess Diaries with a spicy twist and a broody, swoon-worthy bodyguard, Regally Binding by Rebecca Chase is for you! 👑🔥 This book has drama, heat, and all the wild, only-in-Romanceland moments that make for a fun and over-the-top ride.
The plot? Liss goes from being a regular twenty-something to discovering she might be the long-lost granddaughter of the King of England. Suddenly, she’s thrown into a world of royal intrigue, paparazzi, and even death threats. Enter Bear, the sexy, tatted-up bodyguard assigned to keep her safe. Their chemistry is 🔥 from the start, and if you’re a fan of forced proximity and that classic enemies-to-lovers tension, you’re in for a treat. 😏
The good? This book is packed with drama and tension, and if you love bodyguard romances, you’ll be all over this one. Bear surprised me—he’s got that protective alpha vibe, but with a soft side that had me swooning. And oh boy, the dirty talk in this book is next level! The banter and sexual tension between Liss and Bear kept me hooked, and their “forbidden love” was filled with those electric moments we all live for. ⚡️
Now, for the less good—the pacing was a little off for me. It felt like the story would race forward at times and then slow to a crawl, which threw me off a bit. And while I loved the spice, some of the dialogue between Liss and Bear didn’t always flow as smoothly as I’d hoped. Bear’s hot and cold moments could feel a bit jarring at times.
Overall, if you’re looking for a fun, spicy escape with royalty, bodyguards, and a bit of a wild ride, this one’s worth a read! It’s sweet, it’s steamy, and it’s got that perfect touch of romance drama we all secretly love. 💕

This book follows liss as she finds out that she is the kings grandaughter and her grandmother hires bodyguards for her protection. Liss was very close to her mom and after her mother passed away due to illness she felt alone and like she had no family. She began working at a bar and felt like she had found some sort of family. Bear is one of the bodyguards hired to protect less and instantly feels a connection to her but fights it due to a previous incident with someone he was hired to guard. Liss really brought him out of his shell and helped him deal with some inner issues he had. Once they both gave into their attraction for each other it was explosive! There is a slight mystery element in the story liss begins to get some threats and they have to figure out who is behind them, and there is a slight issue of royal laws not allowing them to be together. The story all tied together very nicely and I really enjoyed the book.
I liked it very much. 5 of 5 pionts. It was funny and light and heartwarming. Such nice characters! I really would like to read more of Rebecca Chase.
Regally Binding was a cute concept for a book. I liked a lot of the main points the book hit, but something was just missing for me. There were a few plot points that i was really intruiged by, but i felt like the end of the story wrapped up very quickly compared to the mid-section and beginning.
"Regally Binding" by Rebecca Chase presents a compelling enemies-to-lovers tale. Liss, thrust into the royal spotlight upon discovering her royal lineage, must navigate paparazzi, parties, and danger alongside her grumpy yet charming bodyguard, Bear. Their frequent conflicts gradually transform into undeniable chemistry. This captivating story is brimming with romance and tension, making it a must-read!
Regally Binding is the latest romance novel from author Rebecca Chase, and the first in her new Closest Protection series. Fans of forbidden love, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and a good bodyguard romance, this is the book for you! Add in a found family, a fantastic ‘fuck it’ moment, a protective swoon-worthy ‘touch her and you die’ MMC and lots of banter and you have Regally Binding, a new spicy British romance, perfect for fans of The Princess Diaries and The Bodyguard.
The narrative is very well paced and I easily read the majority of the book in a single sitting. The plot of this book is very well crafted and more complex than your average romance, with Liss not only having to navigate suddenly becoming part of the royal family and her evolving relationship with her bodyguard but also becoming victim to death threats. There’s a mystery element with them trying to work out the identity of the person harassing Liss and also navigating concerns about the health of the king. Rebecca Chase found the perfect balance between these aspects to the plot and the romance, making for a really compelling story. I also loved how very British the story was!
Liss was an excellent protagonist who I really wanted to be friends with! I loved how normal she was, which made the plot of her suddenly being thrust into the royal family and the limelight even more compelling. This book explores grief through Liss having lost her mother – who was a single parent – to cancer. There is also fantastic anxiety and panic attacks representation through Liss and this was one of my favourite things about the book. As a someone who has had both for 15+ years, this representation felt really authentic so it was really powerful.
Bear was a swoon-worthy MMC to say the least. I very quickly fell head over heels in love with him but can you blame me? I particularly loved that he was such a complex character rather than just being the sexy love interest with surface-level characterisation you can often see in romance books, particularly spicy ones. Bear has a really great dynamic with Strike and the exploration of Bear’s backstory and how he found a family with Strike and his parents was really emotive.
Liss and Bear were a brilliant match and the banter between the two of them had me giggling throughout. Their romance builds at a good pace, with lots of sexual tension before the much-anticipated ‘fuck it’ moment. Their chemistry was electric and the spicy scenes were some of the best I’d read in a long while. Dirty talk fans, you’ll eat this up!
You will love Regally Binding if you fancy a read which is the perfect combo of sweet and spicy, especially for those who loved The Princess Diaries as a teenager but now fancy something with (A LOT) more spice!

👑 Bodyguard Romance
👑 Enemies-to-lovers (more accurately Hate-to-Love)
👑 Forced proximity
👑 Princess Dairies meets Twisted Games (by Amy Huang)
👑 Grumpy yet flirty MMC
👑 Nightmares! (she's having nightmares trope)
👑 Banter, bickering, tension = chemistry
👑 Steamy & spicy
👑 Forbidden love
👑 3rd Person, Single POV (which can be a touch and go for some so noted here)
OMG that Bear is true to his GD name and is a dirty talking KING <3 Yum yum yum and I love me some romantic/steamy tension when they are bickering but they're also flirting so you're thinking "JUST KISS ALREADY" :D
Where it did loose me at times was pacing, and the 3rd person/single pov/ past-tense writing which can take you (the reader) out of the story a bit, especially in a romance.
Absolutely loved this book! Gave princess diaries/twisted games fives. Love the body guard rope and this book definitely did it justice. With all the banter, suspense and romance, I couldn’t put this book down. 100% recommend, got me out of a ready slump!
An enemies to lovers bodyguard romance and that alone sold me.
I love a good enemies to lovers so seeing this and reading the blurb I knew I needed to read it.
It did not disappoint.
This is such a cute story! It’s definitely giving Sierra Simone meets Hannah Grace with a sprinkle of Ana Huang. Very royal and cutesie but fun!! Super enjoyed
I loved this! I die for a good bodyguard romance and this hit the spot. It was fun and full of chemistry!!

Regally Binding is spicy and swoony bodyguard romance.
I had super high hopes for this book. I love Princess Diaries and love this idea of a Princess Diaries-esk book that had a spicy twist to it. I enjoyed reading this book, but I didn’t love it.
I had super high hopes for this book. I grew up loving Princess Diaries, and when I came across this book and saw it was a spicey version of Princess Diaries, I knew I wanted to read it. Unfortunately, this one didn't click with me. It is indeed very spicy, and there is plenty of dirty talk throughout the book, but something just didn't work for me. I think I had a problem with the pacing, and some of the dialogue just didn't flow the way the author may have wanted it to. Sometimes romance books that have banana, whack-a-doodle plots work and sometimes they don't. I think them working or not working depends on the reader. I am sure there are readers out there who are going to devour this book and love it to bits, but I am not one of them. For this review, I will go over the good and bad aspects and let you decide if it's a book for you.
Let's start with the good. I love a book with lots of drama; the more ridiculous and bat-shit crazy the drama or, hell, the story is, the better. This book definitely falls under the only would happen in Romanceland plot. Our heroine, Liss, has just discovered that she is the long-lost granddaughter of the King of England and potentially the heir to the throne. As you can imagine, this creates quite an uproar both in society but also within the royal family. Liss finds herself in a dangerous situation. Her grandma leaves her in the care of two very broody bodyguards. Liss instantly has lusty chemistry with Bear, who is one of the bodyguards. The plot in this book is bonkers and I like it. There are many ridiculous things that happen in this book, and it is fabulous. If you are a fan of bodyguards, force proximity, royalty, and broody hero romances, then you might enjoy this book. Bear's character surprised me. I thought he would be this alpha male character, but he really has this soft side to him that I wasn't expecting. Some of the dirty talk that comes out of Bear's mouth is VERY spicey and we get a taste of it right from the first moment we meet him. There is chemistry between Liss and Bear, and if you like your romances to have that lusty tension, you will enjoy the romance between Liss and Bear.
Now, let's chat about the bad things about this book. Let's start with the pacing; it felt a bit off at times. There were moments when I felt like I was going at breakneck speed and then suddenly things would slow down to a crawl. It really created this unpleasant reading experience. While spicey at times, the dialogue between Liss and Bear didn't necessarily flow the way I hoped it would. Part of it was because Bear's character would go from hot to cold in the blink of an eye, which caused the dialogue to abruptly change in a jarring way.
This was such a fun time! The banter was on point for me, but it was just so fun. Reminded me a lot of Twisted Games
this was so cute for what!! I absolutely loved this book, and I was in love with these characters. I thought this was adorable and it was cute.
Fun, cute read, might recommend, might not
I'm the biggest royalty romance lover so I was very excited to read this book. It had everything to be a great book and I couldn't wait!
When I first started reading it all went rather quickly, the tempo was very high paced, however I do think that's needed in the storyline. Only, the more the book progressed, the more the tempo slowed, even fading to too slow (for me). It felt like a chore to read it after a while. (I do want to say that I tried to finish this book before the publishing date and I had the busiest week at work, had no energy and didn't feel like reading at all, so that definitely played a part in my reading experience. ) That being said, I have read about 7392648 royalty romances so I do have some favourites that I compared these to so that might also have influenced me.
All in all I did like the story, it was more the tempo that did me in. And without wanting to spoil to much, the -let's call it- plottwist, just added to my more negative rating because it fel very unrealistic for a story set in this day and age.
I did LOVE Liss and Bear together! But again, their relationship felt forced, too quick and based purely on physical attraction. I felt like every other line was something like "oh he's so attractive" "oh he swallows, now I'm horny" "he just laughed, my thighs burn"
I think the story had a lot of potential but it wasn't executed to be what it could've been (if that makes sense)
Liss and Bear in Regally Binding. I mean I can't ever say no to a lost royal rom-com. It is one of my absolute favorite tropes! Felicity, aka Liss, is a pub manager that lost her mom at 19 and has had to find a family among friends to keep her going. Bear is the surly bodyguard that her Grandmother hires when the news breaks that Liss is a Princess, like the actual King's granddaughter. Bear and Liss are forced to hide out together until the DNA results come back, spending their days working on self-defense and trying to not let the intense chemistry between them lead them into doing something stupid. They face threats against her life, and she helps Bear and his business partner, Spike, out of a rough situation. This book has tense scary moments, incredibly kind and sweet moments, and off the charts tension.
Thank you to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op and NetGalley for the ARC of this swoony Royal Rom-Com! I will be recommending this to all of my rom-com reading friends, and I look forward to reading more work from Rebecca Chase in the future.
