I love this book so mucho. At first i really liked the idea of Friends to lovers between Layla and Zayne. He is her protector, companion and only real friend. So at first I liked them as a couple. Then I met Roth and OMG sparks flew. I love the way the author adds dimension to her characters. They are so vivid they could be real people. Yes, the author manages to make gargoyles seem very real. Her world building is amazing. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

It took me a shamefully long time to read this but, as soon as I did, I regretted not starting it sooner. I'll admit it was the possibility of a love triangle that held me back from starting so I was glad I binge-read the entire series in one sitting. This book is a fast-paced, action-packed start to a series that's completely unlike anything Jennifer L. Armentrout has written before. The storyline is unique and captivating and the characters are eclectic and riveting. It's a must-read!

I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.

Gargoyles, demons, and a girl who can kill you with a kiss. Yes, pure perfection. This easy to read, fast paced, urban fantasy is exactly what I needed from the author who made me fall in love with Aliens! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys YA paranormal romance.

This is one of those books that has been on my to-read list from the moment that it was released. Jennifer L. Armentrout has such a following that I desperately wanted to read her works and learn what all the fuss was about. I read a few of the books in the Lux series a while back but never ended up finishing them. I may eventually return to them but, for now, I plan to read some of her newer work.

The only way that I can describe White Hot Kiss is that it's very reminiscent of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (just with gargoyles and demons). There's a ton of action, a love triangle, family secrets, and a group that makes it their mission to keep the bad guys at bay.

I found the Wardens very reminiscent of Shadowhunters, but I absolutely loved the fact that the general populace knew about them. It was not a secret and it made things much more interesting, in my opinion, to have the main characters friends and schoolmates be aware of what she was and what her "family" did.

I do have to admit that the gargoyle thing was a little weird for me but, considering this is a very first in that genre that I've read, I had an open mind about it and was happy to give it a chance. It wasn't as odd as I thought it would be and I actually found it slightly fascinating.

As for the characters, I must admit that I did, at times, find Layla's character to be slightly annoying and a bit childish. As the story continued, however, her character seemed to mature and she became much more likeable. I did enjoy Zayne's character as I found myself wanting to know what was going on inside of his head, and Roth, well, Roth was just a hottie that had nothing but redeeming qualities. Minus the demon part. :)

Overall a pretty good story. The ending did throw me for a loop and left me with a ton of questions and the want to know more. I can't say for sure if I'll read the next book in the series, but it's definitely likely!

I went in with very measured expectations and walked away quite entertained by what I had read. Of course, I love the boy I think I'm not supposed to love, but I will go down with that ship if it comes to it.

This wasn't a perfect book, but it's the most enjoyable experience I've had with a book by this author in a long while. It had me clamoring for the next one, so that's got to say something.
