Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving the opportunity to listen to this ARC for my honest review.
Let's start with what I liked:
-the audio book narration. This is the biggest thing I'm picky about and this was well done
-the premise behind the book
I rated this 3 stars but I am going to revisit this because I did not fully realize this was the 2nd book in a duology/series. I think if I read the first one I will like this one more.
Although I will say this book is really long and feels very drawn out but for no apparent reason, which I am not a fan of.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
To all Throne of Glass fans, this is for you.
The Curse of Sins is book two in The Curse of Saints series.
The story picks up directly from the ending of book one, with Aya and Will returning to their home kingdom, Aiden becoming king and Josie still struggling with Vivienne's treason.
Aya and Will know their queen Gianna is plotting and scheming, but why, and what is her main goal?
I really enjoyed this second installment in the series!
Book one was very complicated, the worldbuilding confused and sometimes boring, the only character which had some depth was Will and I struggled a lot finishing it... But, like for ToG you have to trust the process because book two gets much better. The plot thickens, the pace picks up, and the secrets aren´t secreting as much as creating problems.
The characters' development was so good in this second book. Will kept being my favorite, but the author did an amazing job with Aiden and Josie, I loved them both. And even Gianna and Tova (which I didn´t like) were pivotal for the understanding of the story.
Aya was much more bearable than book one even though I think she is still not the spymaster of my dreams. She is not super subtle and gets discovered too quickly to be as good as she was written.
I loved to see a little more power plays, and I absolutely adored the bonded wolves!
I don´t know if the worldbuilding got easier because it was book two, but I felt really immersed in the various settings.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, and again, if you are an SJM lover, you absolutely need to read it!
The book is multiple PoV but in third person so, for the audiobook, we just have one voice, and even though this is not my usual favourite setting for an audiobook Dreamscape Media Production was flawless. Devon Sorvari, the voice acctress really made me jump right in the story! Devon Sorvari did an amazing job with this book.
Thank you NetGally, Sourcebook Casablanca, and Dreamscape for sending me an early copy of this ARC.

I liked book one and enjoyed this one even more! I listened to the audiobook and LOVED IT !! After the world and plot building of book 1 the sequel gave us spice, laughter and pain.

I genuinely can’t describe my feelings about this series. I listened to book 1 and 2 on audio, and with both books I feel that I listened to very closely and still have no recollection of the plot in either book.
There is little to no world building, so I’m confused about a lot of that in general. You immediately dive into this strange magic system without much a description and it is obviously a main focus of the book, but again I don’t think I would be able to describe it to you.
Despite this, I still enjoyed the story and the characters. I love the enemies to lovers storyline with Aya and Will. The side characters are all important and add something to the story. And the plot twist towards the end has me very interested in reading the next book in the series.
The audiobook was great! The narrator was perfect for this book and everything was clearly spoken.
Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca, NetGalley and Kate Dramis for the eARC of A Curse of Sins available June 25th!

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for a copy to review!
For the most part of the book, I was sure of all the plot twists and challenges the main characters will encounter. But the ending???!!!!!! I hope the 3d book will come out soon!

I enjoyed this second installment. Also that ending…I’m going to be thinking about that one for a while. I will definitely be continuing in this series.

I have to admit that the first half of this book was incredibly difficult to get through. The constant repetition of events and certain phrases was enough to make me want to set the book aside. I was bored. Returning to the Queen they were running from didn't make any sense and made much of what happened in the beginning seem pointless. However, about halfway through, the intrigue ramped back up and it was enjoyable. I'm struggle to give this anything above a three star because of how long it took to become interesting again. I'm incredibly disappointed, as I quite enjoyed the first book of this series.

thank you so much to the publishers and netgalley for this audiobook!
firstly, the narration was really well done and it truly brought the story to life. it set the right atmosphere, and it really did bring the characters to life too!
now onto the book itself... OHMYGOD IT WAS PERFECT!! as we continue from book 1, i was a bit worried that there may be things i might have forgotten and sadly i did not have time to reread book 1 but i definitely did not need to because Kate did a stunning job at reminding us things from book 1 whilst also not making it seem like a boring recap.
i really enjoyed where the story went and the way it had my jaw dropping one too many times! i also quite like the subtle world building Kate has embedded as it allows the book to focus on the characters and plot in a really balanced way.
i loved getting to know the characters even more and seeing their development. i love Aya and Will and want to be the happiest in this world, the same with Aidon. i love all three of them and how we got political intrigue from both cities.
i will never not recommend this!!

I don't know what it is with Kates writing but I love these books so much! I had the best time reading the Book 1 and this was another grandiose banger!
The audiobook brought every character to life and I loved it so much. Very well done!
This book follows our characters after the book 1 ends and it was so good to be back with them. I loved Will in this book so much, my emotionally available king!
I know a lot of people say that the books lack a bit of world building which I can agree with but I still love the story! I still love that there are so many loveable characters as well as super hated! I want to know more and more and I think Kate is looking towards a brilliant career.
The spice was extra hot in this book and I loved every moment of it.
Thanks Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for an early audiobook for the review.

I have been waiting for this book. I stopped reading the other book I was reading just so I could read this one! Reread the first book earlier this month so I would be ready for this book and I’m so glad I did. I didn’t think I would actually get this arc. I am so incredibly thankful. I get to meet Kate on the 25th so I’m glad I will get to share my thoughts with her in person!
This book!!! It starts right where the first one ends and I couldn’t put it down. I listened to the book as soon as it came in yesterday and continued the rest today. Highly recommend

For fans of:

The Curse of Sins begins with Will and Aya's return to Gianna's treacherous clutches. Now that Aya's sainthood is common knowledge, her role as Gianna's 3rd is more precarious than ever. Will on the other hand is trying to juggle his commitment to Aya with his reputation as a villainous rake, and will accomplice to crimes committed against his people. Across the world, Aiden is getting used to his new role as king, but his secret fire-wielding abilities are beginning to chafe. As he attempts to quell his dissenters and prepare his people for war, he feels more alone than ever. Finally, Josie feels betrayed by all those she loves, and with things so strained with Vivianne, she wonders if life will ever return to normal.
This book includes:
- a makeshift found family
- religious fanaticism
- he fell first and she fell harder
- betrayal, subterfuge, and conspiracy
- creative elemental magic system
- kings and saints
- LGBT relationships
- a cliffhanger ending!
This is a great sequel to Curse of Saints and now I'm dying for book 3. Aya is fierce and powerful and I loved seeing her develop from the naive girl we saw in book 1, to a woman filled with determination and rage. Will is the perfect leading man, he's self-sacrificing, devoted, gorgeous, smart. If you're someone who loves to collect book boyfriends, you'll be obsessed with Will.
Aiden and Josie's storyline was a bit slower. It was so hard seeing the siblings at odds while still being very much on the same side, but it felt like an honest portrayal of grief - which I appreciate. I just love this series in general.
I received this audiobook as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Kate Dramis, and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to review this book. This review is also available on my GoodReads - check out my profile https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/62314863

The Curse of Sins is the second instalment of Kate Dramis’ series “The Curse of Saints”. While the first book was an excellent introduction to Aya’s and Will’s world and characters, the second shows how do they deal with their new dynamic, with their own issues and perceived enemies and challenges.
Dramis builds an interesting world, full of magic, god given powers, love, lies, deceptions and schemes, spying and corruption, intrigues, alliances and even some queer representation. It is absolutely fantastic and draws your attention, as well as stimulates your imagination. The descriptions are very graphic and visual, helping with immersion into the world of Visya. Similarly, the characters of this novel are not just one dimensional, but feel like full blooded beings, that we root for or hate with our whole hearts, only to learn that we were wrong about them, or that there is a redeeming quality in them, or that they are utterly despicable… the author keeps us on our toes and it is a great feeling.
The romance is well written, believable and beautiful. The way they try, against the world and circumstances is just amazing, basically an example of how to write a good love story without any forced drama (not that there is no drama at all, just that it is believable and makes sense for the characters and their journey).
It’s not without the flaws: some characters and stories are a bit unnecessary or underdeveloped (like Cole, or Lena, also Healer) and the cliffhanger at the end just doesn’t seem justified. But still, it’s a very good book, I totally recommend reading it.
When it comes to the audiobook, I have to say I’m quite impressed. The narrator has a very pleasant voice and significantly improved the book experience for me. I read this arc in both forms: classic ebook and this audiobook (Dreamscape Media), and while the flaws are not gone from the latter, they were much easier to “swallow” when listening to the audio version. Highly appreciated, hence the increased rating for the audiobook.
4,5/5 rounded up.

Very often, the second book in a series picks up where the first left of and has a "more of the same" feel. The Curse of Sins does pick up just after The Curse of Saints left off, but there were a few changes to the feel of the book. First and foremost, the better part of the book, maybe the first two thirds, isn't action driven as the first book is, but mostly Will and Aya and their relationship, and their reconnecting (and disconnecting) with those they left behind when they left on their adventure. Where the first book could almost be considered a YA romantasy, this book raises the spice level by a few chili peppers. But when the action picked up, towards the end of the book, it ratcheted up pretty fast, spun some curveballs, and ended in quite a cliffhanger. For those who read the first book and wanted more Will+Aya, more relationship drama and angst, this book delivers. For those who want action/adventure, and don't mind a slower ramp-up, keep reading. I would have probably wanted the action to pick up a bit earlier in the book especially since this one is longer than the first by a noticeable amount but the ending was intriguing enough that I am looking forward to seeing hoe this trilogy wraps up in the next book.
I read this book as an audiobook, and really enjoyed the format. The narrator, Devon Sorvari, did an excellent job with voicing the characters' dialogues and internal monologues as well as conveying the emotion in the prose of the story. A good narrator does more than read the text, but performs the story and this was a very good performance. (3.5/5 stars raised to 4 because the narration improved the story).
I received advanced access to this audiobook thru NetGalley (for which I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher, Dreamscape Media) for an honest review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

Curse of The Saints is the second book from Curse of The Sins. I have yet to read the Curse of Saints, and so I am going into this audiobook completely blind. The first thing I want to talk about is the audiobook reader's voice, as that's what I initially heard throughout the entire book. I believe that the book was read fairly well. I don't think that I had any issues with the reader/actor that was chosen for the part. I feel that sometimes voice actors do not match the roles that they are given, and it really changes the vibe of the book for me.
From my understanding Will and Aya are forced to confront their choices from where they last left off. I'm assuming this is in reference to the prior book. The book is very well written. I enjoyed the world, characters, and political building in this story. My take is that these characters seem to be going through a really horrible time. Again, I'm not entirely sure what took place in book one, but I'm sure there was a lot of backstory and introduction that I missed, so I don't want to dock points for that. This book sounds like there is a ton of miscommunication.
There was a section where it slowed down for me a bit, but it eventually picked up. There is a ton of brooding in this book, but I don't know much about the first book. I'm not entirely sure if that was normal for the characters. I did give it 3 stars because the last 20–30% of the book is where it picked up for me. It seemed like the plot twists were endless. The cliffhanger was unexpected, and now I have to read the next book.
Would I read the next book? I would, because of the ending! I need to know what happens next! However, if I do, I will need to go back and read the first book. If I read the first book, my opinion for this second one might change drastically. A lot of my questions would be answered.

This audiobook was great and the story was fun and unique. The writing flowed well and I couldn’t finish it fast enough!

Thank you NetGalley and Kate Dramis for this advanced copy of The Curse of Sins.
The second book in the series picks up shortly after book 1.
I recommend anyone reading book 2, rereads the first book because if you don’t, you’ll be super confused on all the characters brought back up.
The story itself has so much potential, but this book does not reach it. Aya comes whiny and brooding the whole book. Will too. All this book is a lot of brooding and not a lot of plot. The end is the only part that’s engaging, and it’s over 600 pages.
Overall: 2.5/5 Stars

The Curse of Sins was one of my highly anticipated sequels, and it more than lived up to my expectations. This story picks up where the first left off, and Aya and Will are forced to confront the consequences from the choices they made in The Curse of Saints. I loved the split focus between Aya/Will and Aidon/Josie. You could tell it was intentional to have the storylines intersect again at some point, it was just a matter of when. I love stories that are part chess match, and that’s what Dramis did so well in The Curse of Sins. Overall, I love her writing style. Dramis is great at keeping the plot moving well while not skipping out on character development and world building. There’s such a great mix of political intrigue, magic, and action to the point, I could not stop reading this. There were also plenty of betrayals and plot twists to keep you guessing at character’s true motivations and who was ultimately lying. I’m still not over that ending and desperate for book three. I combo read this bouncing between the ebook and audiobook. I think the narration by Devon Sorvari was good overall. The one critique I have is that I wish there was a little more distinction between the different character POVs. It made it difficult to keep track at times because there wasn’t a clear distinction between them at least at the speed I listen. I felt Sorvari did really well at bringing the emotion and amping up the intensity of the story. Overall, I really enjoyed both the ebook and audiobook and feel this would be great to read in either format.

I didn't really remember the first book in this series but I remember liking it enough to want to read the sequel. I enjoyed parts of this but it is pretty long and while it might seem like a lot would happen it didn't feel like it. I enjoyed the romance and the Will and Aya POV's. I didn't care as much about Aiden and Josie's POVs. Overall this was alight but they could have ended it in this installment instead of this having to be a trilogy.

4.75/5
The number one thing I love about how Kate Dramis writes is the fact that she lets her characters communicate. There can be miscommunications, lack of communication, or withholding information, but one way or another the characters will talk about it and resolve their issues. I cannot express to you how refreshing that is. Especially when betrayals occur, I don't feel that dread that characters aren't really going to resolve their issues, they will just go on to the next thing. I actually look forward to the conflicts because I know the conflict will be resolved in a satisfying manner and I can't wait to see what that will be,
Between starting this book and when I finished the first, I forgot how much I loved these characters and this world! I knew I was excited to read the sequel, but I didn't remember why and I was scared I wasn't going to feel the same as the first. Within an hour of listening to Devon Sorvari narrate, I was locked in.
Will and Aya pretending they aren't in love so Queen Giana can't use them against each other? Yes, please. Seeing Adion be a good king, but still struggle with the fact he has powers? So good. Josie finally getting to be the badass she was always meant to be, AND get over the girlfriend who betrayed her? Thank you! (and is too much to say that I am 1000% invested in whatever is going to happen between Josie and Adion's second?).
My only bone to pick is Tova. I won't go into spoilers, but how dare you?
All in all, I can't wait for the next one.
