This was such a sweet story! I loved how Luke and Lydia just literally fell into each other time and time again. After the midway mark though the story was starting to fall a little short for me, and I found myself starting to skim over some of ‘inner thoughts’ moments…. And I found myself just wanting to get back to the good banter Luke and Lydia had for each other!

In the end the story was a quick and fun read and I enjoyed the main story line!

I liked Luke, but Lydia could be sort of annoying. Although there was good banter, I didn't feel like there was a lot of chemistry between the main characters.

The big plot points were also pretty predictable (which wasn't a negative thing for me but may be for other people).

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC.

Absolutely loved!

OK, yes, there was quite a bit of internal screaming OMG, girl, Jack is totally playing you! going on in my head during the last half of the book, but everything ends up exactly as it should in the end so we're good.

Though when the words "meet me in a mile" actually show up in the book, I can't lie--there were legitimate tears in my eyes.

I'll absolutely be looking for more from this author! (But I'm still never going to run a marathon...)

As a runner, I loved the concept of a running romance. I do think the running was realistic as well, which is always good in a sports romance.

I liked Luke, but Lydia could be sort of annoying. Although there was good banter, I didn't feel like there was a lot of chemistry between the main characters.

The big plot points were also pretty predictable (which wasn't a negative thing for me but may be for other people).

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I enjoyed this book, as well as the characters. Had great dialogue, back drop, side stories, and tension.

Lydia has an office crush and jumps the gun agreeing to run the NYC Marathon to impress him. Enter her sexy trainer, Luke.
I loved this so much. Perfect little bits of spice and drama. The supportiveness of Lydia and Luke's relationship was so sweet. Highly recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley, Afterglow Books by Harlequin and Elizabeth Hrib for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book felt like reading a hallmark movie. Pretty predictable arc but I still read to the very end.

I wish they had committed more to making the work guy a villain. Seemed like he got a big out since he didn’t really mean to steal the FMC’s proposal idea and immediately withdrew the submission.

Also, the romance felt a little too easy. Especially when they just came back together with minimal conversation.

Overall, critiques aside, just what you’d expect from a quick romance novel.

I was intrigued by the premise of MEET ME IN A MILE, and I ended up loving it much more than I thought I was going to! And it was even more emotional than I was expecting which I prefer in a romance. I admired how not only it was a great love story, but also how it revolved so much on Luke and Lydia's paths and their beliefs in themselves, each other, and each other's dreams.

Luke is training Lydia to run her first marathon in order to impress her office crush, but with the time they spend together training, Luke is torn between keeping things professional as they promised to or confessing his feelings, though which runs the risk of Lydia finding another trainer and ruining their friendship. Luke and Lydia and how their relationship unfolds felt real and genuine, and I adored their chemistry and banter. I also really liked how the running/marathon training metaphors also pertained to life and proving we are capable and worthy of accomplishing great things. I admired how much support Lydia has in her life, whether it's Luke, her sister, her friends, or co-workers cheering her on.

It was an absolute delight to read, and I look forward to reading whatever the author writes next!

Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was so sweet! And it made me want to get back into running. 🧡

Lydia and Luke were adorable. Lydia literally ran into Luke at the gym, not realizing eventually he'd be the one training her for the NYC marathon. They begin to build a relationship - feelings and all - as she struggles to find her place at work and with the life she thought she wanted.

It's a beautiful story about following your heart - even if it's different than your plan, learning to trust yourself, and how to challenge yourself. I really enjoyed it!

It was a pretty low stakes book, which was nice. I felt like some of the side drama probably made it a 4 for me. But I really liked it overall - and I definitely teared up at the end! His voicemail DESTROYED me.

Thank you for NetGalley and Elizabeth Hrib for this ARC!

Cute and easy read!

Lydia signs up for a marathon to impress a coworker and her bosses. She hires a trainer she literally ran into who took her breath away.
This book was cute. Lydia and Luke’s relationship develops very sweetly through the book. I wanted Lydia to figure out the work issues sooner. Overall, a cute read, perfect for summer.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author Elizabeth Hrib for letting me read & review this Book ARC. Lydia lives in the big apple of New York City with a job she loves working as an Architect. She has a office/ work crush who wants everyone in the office to sign up for a running marathon. She absolutely hates running but signs up in hopes to impress the guy she likes, in addition to impressing her bosses. In order to succeed she enlists a private trainer named Luke who will help her improve her running skills. In the middle of helping her with training he ends up making her a bit confused on what she wants, especially with the two becoming close and gaining feelings for one another. This was a heartfelt romance novel with following in dreams and improving in things she didn't like at the start. Also the the chemistry, banter and lovingly exchanges are everything.

To be honest, I am in no way a gym rat and I do not typically have interest in books with exercise themed plots but this was a fun beach read!

If NetGalley would allow us to give half stars, this would be a 3.5 stars for me.
This is actually a good story. I really like Lydia and I would like her to be my friend. And Luke is a really cute and sweet guy. They go so well together, screw Jake!
I really like how Lydia and Luke were there for each other without even realizing it and really love that ending. Also the way Luke talked about running made me want to pick up my running shoes (but I did not).
It was written in 3rd person which is not something I enjoy, but that's a me problem.
I feel like there was a bit of action missing for me to enjoy it more. But it was a quick and easy read

As a lifelong runner, I might be a bit biased on this one.
Lydia isn’t known for her athletic ability, but she signs up to run the NY marathon to impress her office crush. She enlists the help of a trainer, Luke, to help prepare her for the big race, and that relationship quickly turns into more than your average trainer-trainee relationship. But Lydia’s work crush and life expectations push the thought of something more out of existence. Throughout the book, Lydia bounces back and forth between flirtatious moments with Luke and a budding work relationship with Jack, her office crush.

This was a light, fast read with flirty banter between Lydia & Luke throughout the dual POV.

Thanks NetGalley for the early read!

Thank you Harlequin and NetGally for this arc!

This blurb had me instantly hooked. As someone who got into running in the last several years, and loves a cute little romcom, this really delivered for me.

Lydia takes on the challenge of the NYC Marathon with her firm for charity, but her main drive is an office crush who will also be running. When she signs up for a personal trainer to prepare, she matches with Luke, and the two become fast friends to something more.

I loved the banter in this and the duel POVs were a treat to have. While this was definitely a romcom, the underlying themes of ambition, humility, and pushing yourself to be more really shone through. This felt very fast paced and I could clearly see the story in my head. I finished in a day; a light quick read.

If you've ever watched Brittany Runs a Marathon (if you haven't I highly recommend) on Amazon, then this has a similar feel.

"Meet Me in a Mile" by Elizabeth Hrib is a delightful romantic comedy that blends humor, heart, and unexpected connections. Lydia McKenzie's journey from office crush to marathon runner unfolds with charm and wit, especially when personal trainer Luke Townsend enters the scene. Their chemistry is palpable as they navigate professional ambitions and burgeoning feelings. Hrib’s narrative balances laughs and heartfelt moments, making it a satisfying read for fans of light-hearted romances set against the backdrop of New York City’s vibrant energy. Perfect for anyone seeking a fun and steamy escape with a happily ever after.

Okay I was super excited to read this just based off the description and cover but unfortunately this book fell a little flat for me. It was a quick read and I enjoyed the author’s writing style. My biggest problems with the book are that because of Lydia’s personality and the choices she kept making throughout the book I had a really hard time believing she was ready for romance let alone that she was going to stay in a committed relationship with Luke. Maybe it’s just me but it made no sense at all and it felt kind of forced. And the entire situation with Jack and her naivety drove me crazy. I will definitely try another book by this author but this just missed the mark for me in too many ways.

This book was fast-paced, quick and easy read. There’s spice sprinkled throughout.

Lydia wanted to impress her office crush Jack by joining him in running the New York Marathon. She ended up unknowingly hiring Luke, the guy who “took her breath away” when they literally ran into each other, as her personal trainer. This book has a love triangle trope which I enjoyed.

I loved the dialogue in this book. The wit, the sarcasm, the cleverness, it’s what I look for rom-coms. Flirting was top-notch—I was sad when they had to taper their flirting a bit because of their professional relationship. Their chemistry is electric, you cannot miss it—you will know who she’s ending up with. I enjoyed the parts where they were getting to know each other. The other characters delivered and balanced out the main characters’ quirks.

A fun, easy read! Loved the characters, but I did feel like the events happened a little too easily. Enjoyed it!
