Call Me Hoop by Drew Stepek, Lucy Leitner, Lucas Milliron, Ryan Harding and others was obtained directly from the publisher and I chose to review it. Finally, a horror book that was interesting all the way through with no wokeness to bore me to tears. Call Me Hoop was a book I did not know what to expect but I read it all the way through with no skimming at all. Eight authors, twelve stories all intertwined into a book where Earth has become a playground for the devil who administers just punishment to those that deserve it. bags of our society. Cops, "Karens," criminals (of course), and others all get their just rewards. Hoop is always ahead of those who attract his attention, and when you are asked to "Call him Hoop", it is already too late, be prepared to pay for your sins.

This collaborative story is gross, brutal, and completely unhinged! I’ve read some of the scumbag stories as standalone tales, but just loved that they’re all brought together here in “Call Me Hoop”.
Just be prepared for a wild splattery ride that may mentally scar you.
Thank you to NetGalley, the authors, and Blood Bound Books for a copy!
This book started off hot and fast paced. But after a while, the stories seemed to drag on. I had a hard time getting through the last few stories because they seemed drawn out. The book gets 4 stars because I love the way this story was brought together.
I've always liked collections with a theme. Usually, the theme revolves around a holiday or a mood or even a particular sin... This is such a fun idea for a theme. Every one of the stories features Hoop, who steps in when terrible people are getting away with much worse than murder. I was already reading Blood Bound Books and am a fan of Lucy Leitner, and I realize this kind of violence and horror isn't for everyone. But if you do enjoy gore, creativity, and an intense sense of satisfaction at the end, you will also love this collection. These stories are pretty different from each other, and worth reading more than once. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.
