I adore the author's compelling novels about family dynamics when life gets hard, written with her trademark humor, warmth and insight. WHO LOVES YOU BEST is her best yet, a perfect read for lovers of women's fiction. Highly recommended!
Who Loves You Best by Marilyn Simon Rothstein was a great read that resonated with me at this time in my life.
Podiatrist Jodie is invited by her daughter to visit her and her daughter while they are at the Berkshires.
When she arrives, she realizes that Lisa and her husband are going through issues in their marriage and that she has "competition" as the Grandma figure for her granddaughter.
It's a sweet and sometimes introspective story that made me think about my own relationship with my adult daughter.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in consideration of an honest review. All opinions are my own.
What a funny, sweet novel! I loved Jodi’s wit and wisdom, and I especially liked reading a book from an older woman’s perspective. I plan to read this author’s earlier works as well. Thanks so much for the advance copy!
This was definitely heartfelt- learning about yourself with others. I think it’s harder to think about who you are when you’re alone and no one showing you who you really are.
Who Loves You Best by Marilyn Simon Rothstein is a great quick read. The main character, Jodi, lives states away from her granddaughter lovingly nicknamed Callie. Jodi navigates time away from her podiatrist practice in her home state of Florida while taking her daughter Lisa up on an offer to babysit her granddaughter for a week. Upon arrival Jodi is thrown through many twists and turns surrounding other “grandma” figures. As you rear toward the finishing chapters you see Jodi chooses her own happiness.
Many great character moments in this book! A ton of beautiful moments as well.
I highly recommend this read for someone in the “empty nester” phase of parenthood.
I am a young mother, I still found many things to relate to.

Jodi Wexler lives states away from her 8-year-old granddaughter. When her daughter calls, asking if she can spend a week watching MacAllen while she tends to business out of town, she can't say yes quickly enough. She's happily looking forward to all the fun she can have with a whole week with her granddaughter.
When she arrives, she learns that two other "grandmas" are not only nearby, but they are also in the same house, AND trying to take over all the activities Jodi had planned.
To make matters more complicated, Jodi's husband loses his job just before she leaves, and her daughter's marriage doesn't seem to be in the best place.
As the week progresses, she learns that things aren't always what they seem, that she deserves her own happiness, and there are many kinds of relationships that would benefit her granddaughter.
The best part of this book is the warmth and humor that the author brings to ALL her books. I've read them all since the first book, and I anxiously wait for her next.
I highly recommend "Who Loves You Best."

I just love the cover of this book. The story moves quickly and the characters are quirky. The writing is great! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Four stars.
This is a sweet novel for anybody looking for something cozy, light, and breezy with a touch of humor. The story follows Jodi, a podiatrist in Boca Raton, as she heads to the Berkshires to spend time with her granddaughter.
I'm not sure if this is the book for me personally, as it's outside the genre and styles I usually read, but I think many people will really enjoy it. Even though it might not be my usual pick, I still found myself charmed by the little world that the author built for her characters.
I enjoyed what was almost an all-female cast, with the exception of the main character's husband (who mostly appears over the phone). Overall, I found the characterization very strong, with the exception of the granddaughter Callie. I would have like to see a bit more uniqueness from her, but it was clear that she had a lot of love for her grandmother.
This would make a perfect stress-free read for anyone who wants to laugh while getting to know some eccentric ladies. The themes of Independence, family, tolerance, and following your dreams caused me to reflect on my own life. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a romcom worth reading if you enjoy romcoms. It was sweet, funny, and well written. I liked it a lot.
