I received an eARC of this as a re-release from NetGalley and it is like it wasn’t even edited or reviewed at all. 3% in and an astonishing amount out grammatical errors as simple as missing a space between two words. Not wasting my time, when you couldn’t even use yours to make it readable. Sorry
Ultimate Gutter Fix Edition"?
Knuckle Supper is an innocent and sweet coming of age tale about R.J. (the heroin addicted leader of the "Knucklers") and Bait (the 12 year old "lady of the night"). Through various challenges they begin to see each other and life through the eyes of one another....
Bwahahaha! No! This is a sleaze and blood fest of beautiful proportions! There's humor, decapitation, snorting coke-laced blood.
There are no sparkling vampires. There's punk rock, dirty cops, T-girls, gang fights and doggies! Many taboos are broken and smashed. It is certainly not for everyone but not nearly as vile as many stories I've read.
Drew Stepek writes an amazing story with characters who, as much as they might be scum of the earth, you care about. You feel their pain and connections... which is pretty big for this type of book. If you need a great read that makes your stomach turn, at points, Knuckle up!
Also, For the audiobook, the sound design is incredible! The Professor (the narrator sp?) is amazing in his delivery! I highly recommend the audio book as well as the hardcopy!
This was a really gritty book. The writing wasn't bad, but it wasn't my kind of book. I enjoy reading dark topics and the description had potential, but I didn't find anything interesting about the main characters. It had a definite rock and roll, debauchery feel if you are into that kind of thing. Read the trigger warnings. I was not able to finish this book, so my review only encompasses the first couple of chapters and the introduction.
Brutal, but dangerously good!!
One of my favorite Horror Novels of 2024.
Really looking forward to the sequel!
Thank you to NetGalley for access to this book , tbh I don’t even know where to start , it was gory alright and I liked that you honestly had no idea what to expect at any given moment, but I was honestly just meh about it , RJ is said to have discovered humanity through Bait but he still calls himself a serial killer and kills Bait’s parents , I understand that her parents were horrible people , I just don’t get why go all the way there to kill them if Bait is already dead , maybe he was trying to avenge her I don’t really know tbh , another thing that doesn’t make sense is the whole how they were created part , so they were still born babies from drug addicts and due to the experimentation of “growth hormones” and more drugs they were able to bring them back to life ??? Then after watching them for a few years they just dumbed them on the streets to figure themselves out ??? Huh?? Also if the rest of them were created by the Cloth where did Eldrich come from?? He says he lived in the mountains with Lycans ( which nobody ever addressed their existence either ) how would that have worked? Because they need human blood a lot of the time to function?? Also speaking of Eldrich , there was this whole scene where RJ goes on a rant about him sacrificing his life and all that , wishing he had told him that he was his best friend then fast forward he is alive ??? And RJ doesn’t even question how??? And just gets in the car like as if he didn’t just see Eldrich literally get trampled on??
Also the Racism , homophobia and transphobia go crazyyyyy in this book and it pissed me off so much because a lot of the time it wasn’t even necessary, also the hard ER??!! Crazy
I honestly don’t think I can recommend this book to anyone unless like I’m sure the person can handle whatever mind fuck this was , well I guess this is my intro into like splatter punk horror ig
This book is disgusting in the best way. If you like splatter/gutter punk, this is for you. If you like vampires, but not the romantic kind, this is for you. I loved the way the vampires were portrayed and the gore is absolutely phenomenal. If you don’t vibe with it at first, just keep going. You won’t regret it. The way this is written and the synopsis of the book is so much more than I thought it would be. I highly recommend especially to you horror fans.
Thank you NetGalley for the read! This is also posted on Goodreads.
If it’s in your body, this book will make sure it comes out of someone’s body that is for sure. I went into this completely blind, I was unaware this was a vampire story, I am not a fan of vampires, that being said, this is likely the greatest version of a vampire story ever written. There are drugs, there are gangs, addiction, violence, sex workers, redemption, and even love? Now this is highly irreverent at times, some would call it tr@nsphobic so you are aware of triggers. This is a full length horror novel, not a novella, so buckle up, this really isnt for the faint of heart. This is fast paced and hard-hitting with nods to many classic Horror movies.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing a complimentary ARC
I liked the take on these vampires very much! However, i personally had a hard time getting motivated to finish the book. There was just a lot going on and I felt overwhelmed to finish it. I did it just took some time to get there.
I couldn’t gel with this story. I wasn’t impressed with the “gore” and I couldn’t care for the characters in any way.
Just not my cup of tea.

4.5
I really liked 'Knuckle Supper', one of the most dark, intense and barbaric horror novels I've read. It also has a message, and how the two so diverse idioms intersect make this a really engrossing story.
When I began this book, I won't lie--- I wondered if I would be able to finish it. The horror is so detailed, gross and graphic. You could feel it happening. I'm so glad I didn't put this down, because by the end , the explicit and graphic horror is one of the things I liked about this book. Drew Stepek has a way of making you feel the horror as you read it, and thats amazing. But he also weaves a message into the horror.
There is a sequel to this novel 'Knuckle Ballers' and I am hoping its as good as this. I am going to look for it.
Thanks to Netgalley for sending this e-book ARC for review.

Knuckle Supper is a gritty glimpse into a drug infested world, where the real monsters are much more human than you would think.
As a horror fanatic my entire life I have seen many a vampire; the “sparkly guy”, the “bald silent type”, the “face hinges in the middle horror from the depths of hell”. Knuckle Supper was able to take this creature and twist it on its head- a fresh take on Vamps? Hell ya!
We follow R.J., a drugged up gang member who can’t get his shit together to save his life. Living in filth and owing the man, R.J. makes a split second decision that sends him and all of his gang buddies into a toilet spiral. Mixed up in his business is Bait, a 12 year old street girl who pulls on whatever heart strings R.J. has leftover, and a foster father he becomes… sounds like a fairytale ya?
This book is not for the twilight horror readers. It is horrifyingly brutal, transgressive and shocking. It’s feral vampire mayhem with a sprinkle of humanity- which will win out in the end?
Thank you to NetGalley and Blood Bound Books for the review opportunity! I received a digital copy of this book for free and my review is voluntary.
Like another reviewer, I’m not a huge fan of vampire stories. But this one was intriguing based on 1) the splatterpunk genre is the BEST and 2) the synopsis. I absolutely loved it and I couldn’t stop reading. Definitely recommend this one!
I absolutely flew through this book. It’s so easy to read and VERY hard to put down. I loved every single gory detail. Buy this book. You won’t regret it.
I'm not a fan of vampire themed stories, thanks Twilight. But this story is so different than other vampire stories, I've read. Drew Stepek flipped it and reversed it! If you like a plot with horror, drug dependency, and other triggers this book is for you. If you're like me, I can picture what I imagine each character looks like. That is how well written this story is.
