Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the audio ARC of this book!
I wasn’t sure, at first, if I was going to enjoy this story. But wow! I didn’t see the ending coming at all and I felt like I was on a rollercoaster during the last hour. The characters are well developed and I felt like I was in their heads as I read this. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
Special thanks to NetGalley for advance listener access to The Wife at the Window by Cara Reinard.
The Wife at the Window is a psychological thriller with so many twists! I never saw the end coming!! I highly recommend the book! The book was narrated by Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra. I enjoyed that they had separate narrators for each pov.

Will you be Team Emerson or Team Talia? Both women are in a battle with love being the reward. Throughout the book, I was torn between who was the victim and who was the villain. The narration masterfully brought the characters to life adding emotion and intensity to this layered and compelling story. The ending had me on the edge of my seat with a conclusion I never predicted. Shocking, heartbreaking, and compelling describe this twisted tale. Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.
I listened to this one. It had a good story line that kept me interested. It was told from two POVs. It had me following along closely. The end was a chaotic mess that I had to listen to a second time to fully grasp what was going on. It was pretty far fetched. The narrators did a good job, some of the male voices, really didn't work for me and sounded so fake. Some of the characters were very hard to like. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for giving me a ALC.
This domestic thriller had lots of drama and suspense, which made it very enjoyable. The story develops through dual POVs - Emerson who is the mom of Leo and his deceased sister Thea as well the ex-wife to Shep, and Talia, Shep's new live-in girlfriend who has taken to Leo like he is her own. Talia has been after Shep since before Emerson was out of the picture. Can Talia be trusted? Can Emerson? Who has Leo's best interests at heart?
Despite a slight lull in the middle, I really enjoyed the plot and thought it was different from the typical domestic thrillers out there. There was great character development. I truly disliked Talia, but I was rooting for Emerson the entire way through the book. This book had a very solid ending, and the twists throughout the book were great. The twist at the end was jaw dropping!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I recently finished reading "The Wife At The Window" and it exceeded my expectations. Initially, I found the beginning a bit slow, and I was concerned it might be a typical story of a jealous wife. However, as the plot unfolded, it became increasingly compelling, and I found myself unable to put the book down.
The characters were multi-dimensional and kept me engaged as I navigated between whom to sympathize with as their stories evolved. While I had a general idea of how the novel might end, the author managed to surprise me with the twists and turns that led to the finale. Overall, it's a gripping and enthralling novel that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
I'd like to extend my thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review, and to express my appreciation to Cara Reinard for delivering an exceptional thriller.
I wasn’t a fan of the narration of this audiobook and put it down for a long time. However, having run out of books to listen to I gave it another try and am so glad I did. The story is actually really good. A sad tale of a child’s death and a woman who was vilified for it, a cheating husband and a twisted new partner. Oh, and there are secrets along the way that blow up into something tying the whole apart mess together. A great read. Perhaps the physical book would be a better choice if, like me, the narrator leaves you grinding your teeth
Felt quite copy and paste and dragged a lot at certain points. Maybe would’ve liked it in an audiobook that was slightly shorter. I won’t lie the story did capture my attention and the blurb made me want to read it so bad but I sadly felt it lacked a certain appeal in the writing. I enjoyed the ending nevertheless.
Loved the plot and the writing with the story being told from alternate POV from the ex-wife and current girlfriend. This book had a surprising twist at the end and the narrators did an excellent job. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.
My first Reinard book. I enjoyed the twist and the two different POV’s. I could have done without the random bits of paranormal reference. It didn’t add anything to the story. I am going to read Reinard’s The Den next.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book.
Oh wow!!! I did not see that plot twist coming!!! This was a first for me by this author but will not be my last! Such a good story!
The story's tension escalates as Emerson, freshly released from a mental institution, seeks to reclaim her son Leo from her ex-husband Shep and his new girlfriend Talia, who has stepped into a maternal role. Emerson’s perspective provides insight into her struggles following the tragic loss of her daughter Thea, for which she was blamed. Talia, on the other hand, grapples with her motivations and desire to maintain her position in Leo's life. The dual point-of-view format enriches the narrative, though it also reveals a lack of likability in many characters, with the exception of Leo. The plot is well-structured, delivering several unexpected twists, yet some elements may appear implausible, particularly as the story unfolds toward its conclusion. The narration by Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra enhances the emotional depth of the characters, making the listening experience engaging and impactful. Overall, the book presents a compelling domestic thriller, though some unresolved plot points may leave readers desiring more closure. If you like a good psychological thriller, this book is for you. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
This story is told from 2 different people. I found it difficult to separate who was who and was not really able to connect with either one.
I may return to this title in the future, but for now I am going to DNF around chapter 8.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for allowing me a copy in exchange for my honest review!
Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley, Cara Reinhard, and narrators Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra for the opportunity to listen to this thrilling mystery.
Once upon a time she had a perfect life. She had the best husband. She had beautiful children and a wonderful home to raise them in. In the blink of an eye, her world is shattered when her infant daughter dies. Her fragile mind cannot cope with her loss and her husband is not able to be the supportive husband and be both mom and dad to their son. When she is released from the hospital all she wants is a chance to rebuild some semblance of a life with her son. First, she has to get past her husband’s new wife and she has no intention of moving aside.
This was a tautly written story and reminded me of some of my favorite Mary Higgins Clark stories. The intensity between the husband and the two women was very well written and kept me hooked all the way through.
Thank you for the ARC. I was really looking forward to reading this book but it was archived before I got a chance, almost immediately after I received it. I plan to download it elsewhere and return for my review
I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were perfect for the characters while making it an easy listen. I loved the dual POVs- the story told just enough of each viewpoint to keep it interesting and made me want to hear more. There were some unexpected twists and turns, highly recommend this one!

Emerson's life was turned upside down when after a fall she wakes to find she's holding her baby, dead. She is institutionalized into a mental hospital after her nightmares are deemed the cause of her baby's death. Her husband, Shep, has moved on. Divorced her. Now he and their four year old son, Leo, are living with a new woman, Talia. Talia and Shep have been working together for years along before they became a family, one that Talia loves with all her heart and will stop at nothing to protect. As Emerson is released and begins to ask for visitation rights Talia must pull out every trick to protect Her son.
This is a decent domestic drama with the POV switching between the two women who love Shep and Leo and will do anything to be a part of their lives. I liked the dynamic of Emerson trying to get a foothold on life after her release from the hospital and her nightmares with the suspense of did she kill her daughter driving the plot forward. Talia, is a horrible person, but her love of Leo came through and her desperation to be his mother could be felt. The problem I had was that I did not like either woman and kept switching back and forth between who I liked least. There were a lot of side plots and characters that never really came together and in the end made little sense. I do not understand why Emerson broke most of her visitation rules and some how was still the victim. She complained if Talia broke the rules but was more than happy to let Brooks manipulate the situation to her advantage. The ending is a bit far fetched and I feel like it could have wrapped up more subplots. The paranormal stuff was too much for me, as it was not needed for the plot. I would read more works from Reinard but this was so so.
I had the audio version read by Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra. Both women did a nice job and were easy to listen to. I enjoy multiple narrators for differing POVs.

Good one.
Talia sees herself as Leo’s new mother, she wants this life, she needs this life she must not lose this life! She wants to be married to Shep and to be Leo’s new mother. There just seems to be one problem….Emerson. She will do whatever it takes to have Emerson’s life.
Emerson is trying to get her life back after being sent to an institution following the death of her daughter Thea. When she is released from the hospital Emerson returns home only to see a new woman living in her there. It seems she was replaced as a mother and wife by her husband’s new girlfriend, Talia. But she just can’t seem to shake the feeling that she was not responsible for Thea’s death, she is convinced that there was a man in the house that night. Can Emerson figure out what happened that fateful night and can she get her life back? Or will she find out that the people she might have wronged want to ruin her life?
I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for giving me an advance copy.
Just an ok listen for me. Complicated rather needlessly in places with characters that I couldn’t feel much of an interest in. I did want to know how it ended but even that didn’t quite give me the answers.

This book was full of so many twists and turns. I did not see any of that ending coming! This book was wild and crazy! I enjoyed this thriller as it was a quick and gripping read. This was just so wild.
