The blurb of this book caught my I eye as it sounded realy interesting. I had the opportunity to read it as I received a copy from Victory Editing NGC via Netgalley.
Hundreds of thousands of foreigners are reportedly crossing the sea, aiming for Mondham. They are described as hostile and dangerous, and expected to reach the city by the end of the night. Everyone is urged to evacuate. Some, however, have a reason to stay. They prepare to fight back. Some characters we meet are two best friends hittig the town for their weekend fun, a taxi driver trying to make a lot of money from this situation, and the elite having a dinner party. When morning comes, nothing will be the same as before.
This book started out great and it had a lot of promise. The premise of the story is interesting and it did have a lot of potential. However, halfway through it just fell flat and became more descriptive than it being a thriller. The ending was quite abrupt as well. Too sudden, too quick, too many loose ends. It could have been so much better.

This was a fun story. The characters needed to be fleshed out a bit more, or perhaps the cast of characters was just too big for the size of this book. The twists were amusing, but I didn't know or care about any of the characters very much. The story also felt a bit disjointed with jumping from one scene and perspective to the next so much, and transitions between these segments were insufficient. That said, it was a fast, entertaining book.. The bit with the bodies washing onshore that were waking up, while good, needed explanation - why were they not dead? Luck? some science/tech trick?
