This book also has a strong beginning that will immediately pull the reader in ( It was hard for me to put this down since the first page). Princess Thalia. Taking it upon herself to save her nation,Locris, and swooning over a sailor. This book is my newest obsession and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Constantly on the move never slowing as we follow Thalia in her journey to lift a curse and save Locris.

Thalia is idea of female empowerment and strength growing within herself. She is committed to her goal constantly thinking of others in the matter. I adored her inquisitive nature asking all the right questions I needed to know.

Thalias innocence in her relationship with Jason, an Ilionian sailor, who is intense. Their chemistry is off the charts in a sense they were meant to be despite there being instant love. The intensity. The banter. The plot twist.

There is a small magic system being built upon in this world that will take off in Book 2. I crave more as it is hinted and teased within the book. The aspect of Greek mythology Sariah builds upon was complex but understandable. It really tied into why the world was the way it is and why Thalia is doing what she is doing.

The plot twist in the end and cliffhanger is diabolical. I need more. This is my first read from Sariah and I can’t wait for where she takes this series.

As a lover of mythology, I was very very excited to read this book - and it delivered. So often the stories of mythology are around men, because heroes of that time were male. So the fact that the author delivered a female hero, who is determined to set her own destiny, despite the attempts to make her a piece in a male’s story, was a huge selling point of this book for me.

I loved the story of Lia, I loved her tenacity, bravery, and loyalty. I loved the importance placed on family- both blood and found - and how that drives the majority of the story.

I also appreciated that there was the romance side of it, but it wasn’t overpowering of the female main character. It was almost as a side part to the main story, and for someone who isn’t a huge romance fan, and instead here for the fantasy part, thank you!

The part that I struggled with was how much happened in the book. I honestly feel like it could just have been cut in half and made two separate books. It was a little overwhelming, and I do feel like the first part was rushed. I struggled with parts of that.

But other than that - this is a solid four star read, and I will definitely be in line for the second!

This book blew me away.

Let me first start by saying that the cliffhanger at the end has me just sitting here staring blankly at a wall, wondering how I'm going to survive waiting until the next book comes out! I mean, the ending was brilliant and infuriating all in one!

Lia is an amazing FMC! I love her strength, determination, loyalty, and love for her family. I found the book to be very fast-paced but easy to keep up with. All of the characters are well thought out, the plot makes sense, and it hooks you from the start and keeps you entertained throughout!

I can't wait to find out more about Jason (IYKYK). He seems to be a complex character that I can't wait to get more information on! I also am really excited to see how this plays out with the Goddess and how everything comes together! I absolutely love her adelphia and I hope we get to see more from them in the next book as well because their found family vibe is amazing!

thanking my past self for that decision because I loved this! I am a huge fan of Greek mythology and love when fantasy books take influence from it.

It had everything I love in a romantasy: entertaining cast of characters that banter well together, strong chemistry between the two romantic leads, great world building that felt magical but not too complicated, and a plot I could easily fall into.

I couldn't put it down from page one. The characters drew me in, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. The story's foundation in Greek mythology was brilliantly executed. Lia's unwavering strength and determination as she fought to save her nation were truly captivating. The dynamic between Lia and Jason, the sailor, was enchanting and the romance swoon-worthy. The writing was seamless, and the attention to detail was extraordinary. I admired Lia's reliance on her sisters in the temple, finding strength in their bond.

The shocking twists and betrayals at the end of the book left me reeling and yearning for the sequel. How will these betrayals impact Lia, Jason, and her sisters?

WOW. I enjoyed this one. Lia as a character is humanly flawed and so relatable. She is such a loyal friend, sister, and member of the court. She goes through so much during this book, not to mention she is secretly training with the best (of course being the only woman to do so). I found her so intriguing and the author made me feel so much for both her and Jason. I couldn’t help but root for them and their relationship.

As anyone who reads my reviews knows, I love enemies to lovers and this one is no exception. This is my favorite type of romantasy: equal parts fantasy and romance. I didn’t feel that either of these elements outweighed the other. The family found in this book warmed my heart because Lia really went through it. The women in Lia’s Adelphia really balanced each other and I enjoyed hearing about all of their personalities.

The ending though! All in all, I highly recommend it. A Tribute in Fire will be available on November 1, 2024 (on KU!) and is the first in a series: the second novel, A Vow of Embers, is released on October 28, 2025. I’m going to need book two injected into my veins immediately lol.

Author Sariah Wilson is no stranger when it comes to writing romance novels, but A Tribute of Fire is her first time writing romantasy. A Tribute of Fire is a well-written and intriguing tale that at times gave me Hunger Games vibes. The plot is fast-paced with a lot of moving pieces. When I say this is a big book, I mean a big book. There is a lot of ground to cover, a world to build, and characters to introduce.

Overall, I think this series is off to a solid start. It has a little something for everyone and would be a great read for anyone looking to dip their toes into the romantasy genre.

Wow! I was hooked from the start. This book gives Greek mythology x Hunger Games and I loved it!

Lia takes on the role of tribute to try to lift the curse that is killing her kingdom and save her people. The goal? Make it to the Goddess temple alive. She has trained for this. She accepted her fate. She believes that she can accomplish her task. But she forgets that the enemy takes 2 tributes each time... and, she didn't anticipate that a fleeting, yet powerful, evening encounter would have such a dramatic impact on her future.

This book is beautifully written. The pace is a consistent ebb and flow of intensity with a teeny bit of breathing room after to absorb what just happened, before you are thrown into the next thing. I loved the fast pace. I loved Lia's passion and drive and focus. I loved that she just blatantly refused to be deterred from her goal. She is feisty and oddly endearing and I am a huge fan.

I adored the side characters and the relationships between them all. Even when I didn't like a character, I did, because they were so well written and they played a really important part in either Lia's development or the overall story.

One of the things I loved most about the way this book was written was that I was constantly second guessing myself. Do I actually know what's going to happen? Is that character actually who they say they are? The writing is so clever that just when I think I've figured something out, I'm thrown off track and sent into a spiral of uncertainty. And the cliffhanger?!?! I'll leave it at that.

In case you couldn't tell, yes I recommend this book. Yes you absolutely need to read it. And yes to a strong FMC who isn't annoying but owns both her fierceness and her fragility.

First of all I would like to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read it in advance!

Second of all WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT ENDING, I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW!! That ending was such a cliffhanger! Now I need to wait a WHOLE-ASS YEAR for the next book 😭

I really devoured this Ancient Greek fantasy and love story, I had a really hard time during the first few chapters but after that hump every chapter got me on the edge of my seat!
Lia and Jason's chemistry are over the top! I can't count how many times I giggled over their witty banters AND TENSION (spoiler alert: there are a LOT). I can't wait to see how they flourish on the second book!

This one is definitely a must read for romantasy lovers! Out on Nov. 1! 💙🔥✨️

I would recommend this book to fantasy romance who love badass FMC, found family, epic world building and comes with a swoony romance!

This storyline is very well-written, I was hooked right from the beginning of the story.
The plot flows smoothly as it introduced the characters and the world building, I really enjoy following Lia’s journey in saving her homeland.

I admire Lia’s character, she’s very determined, caring and fierce as well.
I love seeing the friendship that Lia form with the sisters she found at the temple, despite knowing them in such a short time they already feel like family and always has each other’s back.

As for the romance, there’s a little bit of insta-love/ attraction between Lia and the love interest, Jason. I wasn’t a huge fan of it at first, but their relationship is slightly different than I expected and I find myself rooting for them nonetheless.
I’m hoping there will be more explanation regarding their connection to one another in the next book.

Overall, this is a lovely and enjoyable read with shocking twists and ended with a HUGE CLIFF-HANGER so be prepared for that!
I will definitely keep an eye out for the sequel as soon as it comes out!

It’s been a minute since a fantasy book has pulled me into a story so quickly and intensely. I finished this over 500-page book in 2.5 days, which - trust me - is impressive for me. I was hooked and am impatiently waiting for the sequel.

The story was captivating - a nation on the brink of extinction due to an ancient curse bestowed upon them by the earth goddess finds an unlikely potential savior in the form of their princess, Lia. Lia is such a dynamic character - not only does she secretly train with her nation’s best warriors, but she is also crafty, cunning, and caring. Her love for her nation and her family was oozing off the page and made her someone you wanted to root for.

The romance aspect (if you want to call it that as it was more enemies with flirtation) was a secondary storyline, but felt equally important and engaging. I loved Jason and how he treated Lia. Their interactions were so full of zest and flirtation but also fire and tenderness. I mean I still am thinking of the nighttime library scene - iykyk.

I loved the Greek mythology aspect of the story and the author’s note explaining the historical lore of it was extremely interesting. Lia’s Adelphia group of her and the four other acolytes gave such found family vibes to the story and the love they grew for each other was heartwarming to read.

I absolutely loved this book and I am counting down the days until book two! This book drops on November 1st and I would run to the shelves for this one!

I LOVED this book and the Greek mythology inspiration. It was fast paced, the world building was easy to follow, and the characters fit this story so well. Jason, Quynh and Lia’s adelphia al played such important roles in Lia’s character development.

I loved the messages of strong women, sisterhood, and determination. There was nothing that was going to stand in Lia’s way, and even when there was, she found a way around it. I felt like some of the plot twists were going to happen, based on the way things were written, but they were still such good twists. Also, can we talk about the cliffhanger ending?? I won’t spoil it but I need book 2.

This was such a good read! And don’t ever underestimate a goose as a guard, IYKYK.

A tribute of fire by Sariah Wilson follows Euthalia while she tries to life the curse on her land from an Earth Goddess from centuries past. Alright Sariah, we gotta talk. Your other books, adorable and guaranteed to make me cackle. This book? Made me feel the emotional turmoil while being drunk. You know? Happy then sad and then angry and then sad again and then back to happy to ABSOLUTEL BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM. The audacity for you to write Jason so well (you know exactly what you did) and Quynh- just how dare you. Needless to say, I loved the absolute crap out of this book. I felt like a baby just figuring out I can roll my body, so I didn’t stop doing it. Like really, did you put crack in this? The world building was amazing and using the Greek mythology, I have always found this so fascinating so to see. This made me fall that much harder. Lia has literally been through hell and back over something she has no control over. The challenges she has to overcome truly shows how well you wrote her character’s traits. Clearly I can’t say enough about this book and honestly- I need this in the physical form so I can be tortured yet again

I don’t know about anyone else, or if I’m just not great at guessing plot twists (I am notoriously horrendous at this), but the ending of this book had my jaw on the FLOOR.

This book felt like it was go, go, go from the very start, and I loved the pace that that set for the book.

Our female lead was strong and relentless, and truly everything you could want for a protagonist in a fantasy book.

I’m very excited to see what happens in the next book!

In a fictional ancient Greece, a young princess takes off into enemy territory to find a long lost relict and save her nation.

I was lucky enough to get this ARC from Netgalley.
This was my first book from Sariah Wilson and also her romantasy debut. The book is fast-paced and it's one of the things I liked the most in this book. It tells the story of nineteen-year-old Lia, Princess of Locris, a nation cursed by their goddess after one of her ancestors committed a devasting crime. With the land barren and the people left poor, Lia takes it into her own hands to restore the nation to its former glory. To achieve this, she joins a deadly trial that no maiden survived in over 1000 years and makes her way to the priestess temple in search of a secret relict.
Without taking away too much of the book, there are a lot of plot twists in there you didn't see coming. People aren't who they seem to be at first and Lias's mission isn't as easy as she first thought it'd be, if only she'd survive the trial.
I loved how easy the plot was to follow, even with the twists but l'd have loved for the lore to be more in-depth. One thing I didn't like, though that is a personal preference, was that Lia is so young.

As most of the new romantasy books these days go, our FMC is nineteen years old and still somehow pretty mature. Sarah made it work in her book, as Lia had to grow up quickly, not only due to her being a princess but also because of the looming responsibilities that come with it.
Sariah's writing style is actually pretty good and I loved her worldbuilding and the lore it all was based on, even if I would've loved more of that. I did however have problems really connecting with the characters. At times I couldn't really immerse myself into the story and it felt distant.

The last pages are pretty action-filled and I personally didn't see the cliffhanger coming. There were times throughout the book when I thought I knew who these characters would turn out to be, but Sarah really surprised me in that regard.

Though it didn't hook me as much as l'd love to, I think I'll still read the second book in the series, as the plot itself is thought through really well and makes me want to know the outcome of it all.

A Tribute of Fire is an action-packed fantasy book inspired by greek mythology with found family, deadly trials, and a sprinkle of romance. There is a TON of world building, and this book is definitely a stepping stone for book two. For this reason, there’s a lot of action scenes blended with a lot of gathering information chapters. If you are someone who can appreciate world building to set the scene before it really takes off, this book will work great for you. The romance was the highlight of this book for me and I just loved the male main character. I was constantly waiting for him to appear because I was so addicted to his personality and their banter. He’s hilarious and a bit of a cinnamon roll wrapped up in a deadly package who would kill anyone to protect her. One of my absolute favorite tropes is dream conversations and without spoiling anything I’m just gonna say, if you like that trope read this book, you will NOT regret it. I will be highly anticipating the sequel after that absolutely insane ending.

I love Sariah Wilson and her first romantasy lives up to the hype! I couldn’t put it down! It was on twist after another. I normally can guess the twists but this ending had a few surprises even for me! It hooks you and never lets go! It’s the perfect blend of fantasy and romance and I’m so excited the second book (it’s a trilogy) all ready has a release date.

Prepare yourself for a book hangover worthy romantasy based on Greek mythology. I devoured this book and cannot wait for the release of book two. 

I love when an author creates a deep connection to not only the main character but to the supporting characters in the story. The throughway of sisterhood and found family throughout this story was one of the many things I loved about this book.

Here are my main takeaways and things I loved most:
-The interesting but not too complicated world Sariah built based on Greek mythology. I found the concept of the maidens and their journey to the temple interesting. 
-The pace of this book is great. It keeps you engaged the entire time and ends on a pretty intense cliffhanger!
-The romance between Lia and Jason builds throughout the book. I love their banter and the potential their relationship has for the future of the series. 
-The temple and the characters within are fantastic. You learn to love and hate them the same way Lia is experiencing in the story. 
-Spice level is low/moderate with a lot of kissing and tension. I could see the potential for more spice coming in the next book. 
-I highly suggest reading the author's notes at the end of the book. She explains more about the myths that inspired this story. 

Overall, I am ALL IN on this series and can't wait to read more in the future. The only downside of reading an ARC is having to wait even longer for book 2! Thank you to Sariah Wilson and Netgalley for the opportunity, I look forward to sharing on my social media pages.
