I felt like I was reading a romcom circa 2010! It had all the vibes of my most beloved romcom movies (most notably Leap Year and Just My Luck).
Ada and Jack had amazing banter! I was kicking my feet, laughing out loud, and grinning the whole time. The shenanigans they got themselves into were just believable enough, I think the author did a great job balancing how much could possibly go wrong with reality. Their romantic tension was perfectly paced and I really found the ending refreshing. I liked that not every problem was solved within their short timeframe and that the book extended the story past the present.
I felt like the spice was just enough for this book, I was worried there would be too much but again, the author wrote that perfectly.
I can't wait to read more by this author!

I loved this romance book! It was emotional and funny. I love a race to get somewhere story. I really loved Jack and Ada in spite of all their flaws. I really, really loved the ending too.

Wow, what a fantastic debut romcom! Full of adventure, chemistry, and humor, this slow burn romance was so enjoyable! Can’t wait to read more from this author!

Looking for a charming, entertaining, and surprising story with heart? WEDDING DASHERS has all that and more! It follows a lovely lady named Ada who is on her way to her sister's wedding in Ireland. Well, it turns out her flight is cancelled and the hotel won't accept her room coupon. Since she is in debt with little in her coffers, she is at a loss as to what to do next. She meets a deliciously, dashing man named Jack who offers to buy her a burger and a beer. She learns Jack isn't a stranger, but the best man at her sister's wedding! She discovers, to her chagrin, that they have opposing views on romance, relationships and also the couple who are getting married. The chaos and fun begins with Jack and Ada traveling together to get to the wedding on time. There's hiccups galore and plenty of arguments. It's a madcap race to get to Ireland before the wedding nuptials even begin. Will Ada and Jack make it there before the I do's? Or do they take a detour to romanceville instead?
I absolutely loved WEDDING DASHERS! This story delivers many twists and turns, is fast-paced, smart-alecky, risky and ridiculously ravishing. What a surprising story line that through me for a loop at times while I was laughing at the absurdity of it all! Jack and Ada quarrel and tease each other, with sparks of romance flying about. They have equal amounts of hostility towards each other as well as romance. Will they manage to get to the wedding in one piece without pulling each other's hair out? Defnitely a refreshing rom-com for romance lovers! WEDDING DASHERS is a feel good romance of epic proportions!
Thanks to NetGalley and Penquin Publishing for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a cute, close proximity, not quite enemies to lovers.
When Jack rescues Ada, who is stranded with zero funds in London, they have no idea that they already know of each other. In fact, they’re heading to the same wedding in Ireland - she’s the maid of honor and sister to the bride, he’s the best man and friend of the groom. They both agree the marriage is a bad idea, but for varying reasons, plus Ada doesn’t trust Jack, whose playboy reputation has proceeded him.
When they find themselves thrown together by chance and have to overcome a series of obstacles to get to the wedding in time, they find the carefully built walls begin to come down. Could everyone be wrong about Jack? And is Ada’s hope of getting back together with her long term boyfriend really what she wants?

I found this to be such a delightful read! It was funny, quirky, yet also touching on some deeper issues. The characters were likable as well, and the story was just to die for! Definitely a book I can recommend!

I loved this book! While Ada and Jack's relationship felt a bit insta-lovey at first, they're chemistry quickly won me over. I literally laughed out loud at certain points. This was a great, character-driven read that I can't wait to recommend to patrons!

I wouldn’t have guessed this was a debut! I thought the writing flowed nicely and I enjoyed Ada and Jack and their slow burn. Allison was annoying as hell though

first of all, my review is not inflated due to the author being a swiftie. However, I LOVED the fun little Taylor Swift references that she included and I can't wait for her next book to find more TS references.
This was such a good book - one of my favorite tropes is "traveling adventures to bring two people together" (is this a real trope?) I love the FMC/MMC chemistry and their banter.
I also thought that the character development and plot development was superb - the synopsis drew me in, the writing style kept me reading, and everything about the story kept me happily reading and devouring the book.
I seriously can't wait for Heather's next book.
Huge thank you to Netgalley and Berkley for the e-arc in exchange of my honest review.

This was a cute rom com that would make a great movie. I especially loved that the relationship barrier/resolution was different than most of the genre (which are pretty formulaic overall). Ada is headed to her little sister’s wedding and she hits travel issues galore and is stranded with no money when she bumps into Jack. After some hilarious miscommunication they realize that they are traveling to the same wedding and are actually the best man/maid of honor. He agrees to help her get to the wedding since she doesn’t have the money to re-route on her own. The two of them get to know each other and change their perspectives on so much on their route to the wedding. The characters were good in this one and I enjoyed the book a fair bit, but this wasn’t a book that I struggled to put down.

Thank you to Berkley & Netgalley for this e-ARC.
Ada's life isn't going at all as she had anticipated. Traveling through London, Scotland, and Ireland was a wonderful experience! There was a lot of spark and banter between Jack and Ada. Ada and Jack were both people I genuinely liked, and I could imagine them together right away. Their path wasn't simple, and they both had a lot of problems to deal with. Both of them needed time to learn how to move on from previous relationships, and I liked that the author took the time to discuss this in some detail. I can't wait to read more from this author because this was a perfect romance.

I had a hard time getting into this novel. I didn’t really like Ava; I felt like she was too immature and whinny. The relationships felt flat and I would have liked to see them developed past cliché.

Rating: I loved it!
Laughing: 4 stars
Thank you prhaudio for the ALC and berkeley for the finished copy! I needed both of them because I started on audio but was enjoying it so much, I started reading it as soon as I could no longer listen.
I’ll take no criticism of this book - it was one of the best i’ve read so far this year! It brought me a lot of joy, and I stayed up so late trying to finish it towards the end.
It’s has everything I need in a romance. A funny meet cute, travel, banter, a man that is dreamy, and both characters that are kinda messy. I LOVE when characters are stuck with each other, and they’re traveling and just have to experience all of the craziness that life throws at them. Seeing how they get through it together, is one of my favorite things. The setting of this book was fantastic.
Jack was so dreamy to me because he seemed SO STEADY. He was consistent, he was there for her, and I just about died when she said watching him was like competency p**n (I dont want to get flagged here). Honestly, it made me realize that I TOO love the quality of someone who is competent hahaha.
I liked Ada a lot, I wanted her to get over her ex faster than she did lol, but I get it girl. Together they were really cute and their banter was TOP NOTCH.
Brittany Presley did an amazing job at the narration. She’s one of my favorites and she always captures all the right emotions.

Thank you to Berkley for the advanced copy through the #BerkleyBesties program. All thoughts are my own!
I had such a fun time with this book! I fell in love with Ada and Jack as they ran through planes, trains, and all kinds of shenanigans to make it to a wedding neither of them wanted to actually go to. Their meet cute was especially funny and really helped set the humorous tone for the rest of the book.
You could tell that Jack was such a secret softie on the inside and I couldn't put this book down as I desperately wanted to get to know his past. But I also loved Ada's internal struggle throughout the story. She was truly at a crossroads in her life and had so many questions she needed to answer for herself. I don't want to give away the ending but I really appreciated how Heather handled the ending for these two. I think it really made sense and helped set Ada and Jack up for the happily ever after they both deserved.
I definitely recommend checking this one out if you love travel mishaps, witty banter, forced proximity and complex characters with so much chemistry right off the bat.

Wedding Dashers by Heather McBreen
4 stars
I first heard about Wedding Dashers after seeing Danica Neva rave about it, and I couldn’t resist checking it out. After reading her recommendation, I requested it on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review – and I’m so glad I did!
Heather McBreen’s Wedding Dashers is a laugh-out-loud romantic comedy that combines heart and humor in the most delightful way. If you're a fan of films like Leap Year, When in Rome, The Proposal, or any nostalgic rom-com, you’ll find this book right up your alley.
The story follows Ada, a woman who’s hit a rough patch in life. After her tattoo shop closes, she moves back in with her parents, and on top of that, she’s on a break from her long-term boyfriend. Her emotions are all over the place as she heads to her little sister Ali’s wedding in Ireland. Things only seem to go from bad to worse when a cheap airline leaves her stranded in London. With only a couple of days to make it to the wedding with the all-important veil in hand, Ada feels like she’s reached rock bottom.
Enter Jack, a charming and self-assured guy who hands Ada a tampon when she accidentally drops her bag. Their first meeting is hilariously awkward, but as fate would have it, they’re both heading to the same wedding. With no other options for accommodation, Ada ends up staying at Jack’s place – and of course, there's only one bed. Cue the tension!
After a mix-up, the two realize that Jack is the best man at the wedding – and someone with a reputation for being a bit of a playboy. Despite their initial friction, Ada and Jack decide to team up to get to the wedding on time. They travel by car, train, and whatever else they can to make their way to Ireland, facing all sorts of misadventures along the way. Both of them are a little skeptical about the wedding in the first place, since Ali and Colin haven’t known each other long. But that’s when the adventure truly begins. From navigating travel mishaps to discovering more about each other’s pasts, their journey takes them all over, even to the stunning landscapes of Scotland. The whole travel aspect reminded me a bit of that Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock movie, Forces of Nature, where a wild road trip leads to unexpected adventures.
One of my favorite moments in the book was when Ada and Jack, trying to avoid the prying eyes of a foreign hotel owner in Scotland, pretend to be a married couple and make over-the-top "sex noises" to get him to leave them alone. It's absolutely hilarious and showcases McBreen's skill at creating comedic moments. To top it off, the hotel provides them with a "baby maker" blanket, adding yet another layer of absurd humor to the situation.
What I loved most about this book is how both Ada and Jack experience personal growth. Their chemistry builds slowly as they challenge each other and learn to face their emotional baggage. It’s refreshing to see characters who evolve in a way that feels both realistic and meaningful.
And the ending? Oh, it’s perfect. A romantic rendezvous in Italy over pizza? I mean, come on – what’s more romantic than that?
Wedding Dashers is a wonderful blend of humor, romance, and heartfelt moments. It gave me all the nostalgic rom-com vibes, like something straight out of a 2000s classic, but with a fresh twist. McBreen’s writing kept me engaged from start to finish, and I couldn’t help but root for Ada and Jack every step of the way. If you're in the mood for a sweet, funny, and ultimately uplifting read, this one’s a must!

Wow, I had so much fun with this one! From the very first page, I was hooked. As someone who loves quick, witty banter in rom-coms, Wedding Dashers absolutely nailed it. The chemistry between our two main characters, Jack and Ada, is instant and electric. Both are trying to make it to Ireland for a wedding in just a few days, but there's one small issue—getting there isn’t exactly easy. Their transportation troubles lead them to reluctantly team up, sending them on an unforgettable adventure, and as their journey unfolds, their chemistry only intensifies.
I especially enjoyed watching the character growth between Jack and Ada. While the story does lean into a bit of insta-love, the way the author handled it by the end was an enjoyable surprise. It wasn’t what I expected, but I really appreciated how realistic and healthy it was.
Overall, if you're a fan of classic rom-coms, Wedding Dashers is definitely for you. It’s charming, funny, and heartwarming, making it the perfect read for rom-com lovers such as myself!

I absolutely loved this book! Ada and Jack were such an entertaining couple. They have a hilarious meet cute and discover they are both going to the same wedding in Northern Ireland, Ada’s little sister is marrying Jack’s best friend Colin. And both Jack and Ada aren’t sure they should get married. Ada is a little down on her luck after her dream career of her own tattoo shop is forced to close and she’s a little lost.
Ada gets stuck in London with very little money and needs to rely on the kindness of Jack to get her to the wedding in Belfast. But very single thing that could go wrong, does. It takes them days and many miles on their travels. They start out as enemies and quickly turn to lovers.
This book was laugh out loud funny and absolutely delightful. Both of the characters show wonderful growth as they learn about each other and themselves. They share incredible banter and inside jokes through the book. I would highly recommend this debut novel.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was SOOO cute!! Gave me the same feeling early 2000s romcoms did. Fast paced, funny, full of banter.

I can't do it I'M SORRY OK!! We're just off to a super rough start with so many things I already don't like.
The FMC and her longtime partner of eight years are currently on a three month "break" *cue Friends trauma* and it is so painfully obvious that her ex doesn't want to be with her anymore. But she's still holding out hope because she loves the comfort of their relationship...KNOW YOUR WORTH BB
Then we meet the MMC who is a total douche and tries to take advantage of her situation of getting screwed out of her hotel room by offering to let her stay with him - basically in the hopes that she would sleep with him.
They both have dirt on each other at this point in the book (literally 10% in), and so in a roundabout way of blackmailing her he tells her she can't say anything about him taking the groom to a strip club. I'm that girl who thinks it's super disrespectful to go to a strip club literally the day before you get married, so ick.
I also read through some of the spoilers in other reviews, and apparently he is separated from his wife, not fully divorced. EW. I'm sorry but double ick.
I found myself not wanting to read bc this was my current book, plus I was barely making a dent bc I just didn't like it. Life is too short people, DNF when it's not the vibe!!

First of all - thank you to Berkley romance and NetGalley for the free e-arc!! Couldn't be more grateful if I tried.
Secondly - for a debut I honestly fell in love with this story and consider it to be very well done, very beautifully written, and just a really interesting take on forced proximity, travel, and slow burns!
We start off with Ada, who let's be honest - is a bit of a mess. She's struggling, she's trying to get to Ireland for her younger sisters wedding (in a castle!) and she's just dealing with all of the emotions. Some travel issues occur and she's forced to spend the night in a hotel in London - only she was given the wrong voucher so she can't get a free stay. What's one to do while trying to plan and figure out next steps? Go to the Pub of course! Enter Jack, a man on a way to his best friend's wedding but having travel issues as well. One thing leads to another and he invites her back to his room...
A series of never-ending bad luck ensues as they discover they are the maid of honor & best man for the same wedding, and so they decide to make the trek to Ireland together. It's hilarious, the banter is top notch, and I just loved watching them peel back layers to each other.
They eventually get to the wedding and honestly, that's when the book really picked up for me. All of the tension, and witty moments filled with delicious banter all really came to a head and they had an amazing night. It was passionate, it was spicy, and I just loved how they both took the time to really explore each other. What I loved the absolute most? Was that they explored the pain, and both accepted that they needed time to heal, time to grow and find their own ways and places in this world before they could ever truly work as a couple. It was honest, it was painful, but it was truly an amazing book because of it. I LOVED that the ending was realistic and I wish that it was the case with more romance books.
