Wedding Dashers is a charming, angsty and heartwarming debut. Ada and Jack are two strangers with a cracking connection who meet at the airport when stranded on their way to the same wedding. Ada, the bride’s downtrodden sister, is desperate to make it on time to deliver her sister’s precious veil and Jack turns out to be the rakeish best man. Their initial attraction turns into antagonism but the two have the same goal. Get to the wedding in time.

It only makes sense that they should travel together, with hilarious coincidences and bad luck events on the way bringing them closer and closer to each other as the hours to the vows tick by. The tropes in this book are killer. Only one bed, pretend marriage, and strangers-enemies-lovers. I can’t get enough of this romp of a book and am excited to see what McBreen writes next. Do yourself a favor and order this book now, you won’t regret it!

A stellar debut from Heather McBreen! Wow, what a way to enter the rom-com scene and solidify her place amongst the greats like Sophie Kinsella and Emily Henry. This book has it all: the hot characters, their messy lives, a million mishaps, only one bed, flirty karaoke, and so much heart. This one will have you smiling and giggling while also tearing up with the emotional layers McBreen gives her characters. You will root for both Ada and Jack in equal measure as they try to navigate and find their true north.

Wow! This brazen, entertaining, and chemistry-filled close proximity romance combines elements of "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" with a wedding chase set in Ireland, making it absolutely addictive!

I was so close to giving five stars if there weren't so many setbacks, angsty drama, and past relationship baggage for both the main and supporting characters! The banter, explosive chemistry, and hilarious situations Ada and Jack find themselves in were brilliant. If their long road trip could be an independent novel without so much past drama, trust issues, and self-exploration, I might even declare it my favorite romance of the year. But there were necessary conflicts, the maturing up, and learning to love yourself before jumping into relationships approach which is well executed, but I still wish there was more spice than inner conflicts and angst. Their attraction is palpable, but their love story's progression is slow burn! You keep asking yourself why they don’t just tear each other’s clothes off instead of being stuck on people who never deserved their trust or hearts.

Here's a quick summary of the plot: Ada, a young tattoo artist who recently closed her business and is taking a break from her boyfriend Carter (his decision after an 8-year relationship), finds herself carrying a special veil for her sister’s wedding in Ireland. Unfortunately, due to passport issues, she couldn't catch her family on time and is traveling alone, still checking her phone to see if her ex-boyfriend has reached out after her store's bankruptcy.

When her flight gets canceled, she finds herself at a London hotel lobby with a useless voucher from the airline, broke, with nowhere to sleep. She's bombarded with texts from her sister asking her whereabouts and on the verge of a breakdown, when a tall, handsome stranger offers her a drink until the rain stops.

The handsome stranger, Jack, is also heading to a wedding as the best man. Ada confides in him about not wanting to attend the wedding and her doubts about the groom, as well as her disdain for the groom’s womanizer best man (calling him a “pig”). Jack, in turn, questions the bride's intensity and their happily ever after.

After a few drinks, Jack offers Ada to share his room since she has nowhere to go. However, when they reach the room, Ada realizes he doesn’t just want to share his room but also his bed for a one-night stand. When they both get texts from the airline at the same time, they realize they’re heading to the same wedding. Jack is the womanizer pig her sister warned her about! Jack then makes an offer Ada can't refuse: to travel together using a ferry and train to reach Ireland, with all expenses paid by Jack (a hotshot lawyer with enough funds).

Beggars can't be choosers! Even though Ada is torn between punching him and kissing him passionately, she aims to reach the wedding destination. She can resist his charm for one day, can't she? Maybe she should rethink this as the sparks keep flying!

Overall, there are great themes like sharing the same bed and faking a marriage, which spice up the chemistry and heat up the chapters. Despite the past relationship baggage, I loved the conclusion and the characters’ final growth (including supporting characters and teary sisterhood moments). I wish the epilogue was a little longer, but the final witty line was well executed and smart!

I truly enjoyed this self-exploration, high-chemistry, forced proximity romance despite its extra angsty moments, and I'm looking forward to reading more works from the author. I’ve already added her to my auto-approved romance authors’ list.

P. S. :I’m definitely craving a Neapolitan pizza right now—checking flights to Naples!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this entertaining book’s digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This book was so much fun! Wedding Dashers made me want to go on a journey through the UK and Ireland with the soon to be love of my life. I loved the relationship between the two characters and they felt like real people! I also enjoyed that it didn’t feel like the romance was forced since Ada and Jack take their time and wait until it feels like the right moment to get together. While some moments were a little bit cringey, (but honestly just add to the charm of the book most of the time) I found it to be sweet overall! I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a fun and witty romance that also appeals to travel and food lovers!

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 It’s been well over a decade since I have been in the wedding scene but I can vividly remember the high stress (and of course, joy) of it all and Heather McBreen captures it in a hilariously delightfully manner that almost makes me want to go back and do it all again! As Ada and Jack, two strangers who meet while traveling, both encounter comical bad luck as they attempt to make it to weddings (or as they quickly find out, the same wedding), the twisty, ironic plans of the universe come into play in this absurdly funny and heartwarming rom com. Told in an hourly countdown to the modern wedding equivalent of Armageddon, Wedding Dashers will have the reader laughing out loud in a way not many books can. Refreshingly, unapologetically raw and relatable, Heather McBreen delivers one of the best reads of the year, no doubt a five-star read!

Review is on Goodreads and will be posted on instagram closer to publication date and on Amazon when published!

I was so surprised by this book. It was about being at a crossroads at life, second chances, love when you don't expect it, family reconciliation, and so much more. I grew so fond of Ada and Jack and their slow burn romance!

I really enjoyed this book! The premise is great, and Heather McBreen’s voice hooked me right away.

Ada is on her way to her sister’s wedding in Ireland when her connecting flight from London is canceled. She ends up at a hotel, where she can’t get a room and meets a guy in the lobby who invites her for a drink in the hotel bar. They almost have a one-night stand, then she learns he’s the best man in her sister’s wedding — Jack, a guy her sister has warned her is a no-good ladies’ man.

Unable to get new flights, Ada and Jack travel to Ireland together via train, car, and boat, facing multiple mishaps along the way, like missing trains, learning how to drive on the left side of the road, and dealing with an overbearing and very religious innkeeper — all to often hilarious results.

I love a road-trip romance, so this story checked a lot of boxes for me. Jack and Ada had great chemistry. They were also both dealing with issues in their lives outside of the romance that felt realistic and kept me interested in how they’d earn their HEA.

On the way to her sister’s Irish wedding, Ada finds herself broke, flight cancelled, and stuck miles away from her destination. Luckily she mets Jack, a hot airport traveler who happens to find himself stuck as well, and he is going to the wedding as well. These two definitely begin as enemies and end up making the trip to Belfast together. What could go wrong?

I loved this Planes, Trains, and Automobile romance! We hit all the fun tropes - one bed, strangers-to-lovers, pretending to be married, and he definitely has major Alpha energy. Their chemistry is hot and a lovely slow burn, and they have funny banter for sure. I have been wading through some terrible romantic comedies as of late and I was thrilled to find one with adventure, travel, and hot characters. I really enjoyed this romcom and think that it was a stellar debut. I am looking forward to more from Heather McBreen!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.
