Wow! I loved this book so much! As someone who tries to be very inclusive in my classroom and teach about different celebrations, this is perfect! I loved that it has a table of contents to find celebrations easily. The illustrations are beautiful as well. This is a great gift for any kid and perfect for the classroom!!

Every year around Christmas, I like to educate my children about holidays around the world so I was thrilled to have a chance to read this. There are a ton of festivities included in the book including New Year’s Eve, Holi, Harvest Festivals and Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hannukah, Easter, Halloween, among several others. There were so many details included that you are guaranteed to learn something new; however, I feel that the pages are too dense with paragraphs and information with tricky words and tough content for a child to grasp. It read as more of a college study of festivities rather than a fun and educational book for children. I cannot imagine a child reading this book at all. It would definitely serve as a research tool for me to gather information that I choose to share with my children. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, but the paragraphs need to be greatly condensed.

I really appreciated this illustrated guide to holidays around the world. With beautiful illustrations and thorough research, this book has well-known and lesser known (to western readers) holidays. I learned interesting information about holidays that are better known. This can be a read as a book or to look up more information about a specific religious or cultural holiday. Detailed explanations of a wide variety of holidays celebrated around the world. The text is written for middle grade level but adults may also learn from it. The brief Introduction explains what readers will see and moves immediately into different holidays. The author explains the religious and cultural significance of each and provides historical background. Illustrations capture the spirit of the holidays and provide a visual look at the celebrations. I appreciated learning about some I did not know and look forward to sharing this with students.

Let's Get Festive!, by Joanna Konczak is treasure trove full of beautiful illustrations, and information that represent holidays around the world. This keepsake is a must have for families, schools, and libraries!

This book is part history lesson, part informational, and entertaining. The illustrations are bright and colorful. I liked that it included a table of contents grouping/categorizing the festivals discussed. The book is on the longer side but can be read in part if desired and discuss each festival further as you read. I could see this working well in the classroom setting also. My sister has been traveling a lot with work and my kids have been more curious about it. SO this book was absolutely perfect to read them and explain the places of the world, and the cultures that come along with it. The illustrations were so cute!
