A beautiful book of devotionals. Perfect gift for anyone who needs healing help and inspiration in their life.
A wonderful devotional! I have not read the series that it is based off of but I do want to read the now. We all need healing, at least I do, and this devotional focuses on scriptures and prayer to aid in that journey.
As with all Wanda Brunstetter books the writing in this sweet devotional is well done and easy to understand, which I think is important, especially in a devotional. This book talks about different types of healing through Scripture and prayer. You will even get tips on how to make your own prayer jar. Wanda lives a Christian life every day and it comes across in all her books, especially her devotionals, and this one is no exception. I hope you will get The Prayer Jar Devotional: HEALING today to go along with Wanda’s Prayer Jar fiction series.
I love this devotional so much. The devotional shares healing from emotional , spiritual and physical illness. Each page is short but is powerful. Each topic is relatable and has a scripture to study as well as a prayer jar inspiration. There were several topics I really enjoyed. One talks about scars. Some scars we can see, but there are others that are hidden where no one can see. I had those scars. I liked how the devotion says “to embrace those scars. Wear them proudly as a sign of victory.”
Healing does take time and we need to allow God to help us be patient as we heal instead of trying to rush through our healing. God allows us to get rest when we need it and take the time to heal your mind, body and soul. The book is very encouraging and is a great tool to use everyday. Filled with hope and encouragement this devotional is a great way to see through scriptures that God is there to heal us and give us strength.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher.
Encouraging devotional. Includes daily Bible verse, daily devotional, short daily prayer and prayer jar inspiration to create your own prayer jar. Also had practical tips for healing and letting go of out trauma. Encourages patience and untangling all the kinks and tangles of the hurts we may hold.

The theme of the devotional is centered around healing, hence the title, and focuses on healing through prayer and reflection on scripture each day so that your relationship with others and your spiritual life can be renewed. We all have scars on our hearts that can impact how we treat others and ourselves; it’s important to do our part to heal in healthy ways. Brunsetetter, along with Thompson, provides a roadmap to healing and they don’t ignore that mental aspect that sometimes never quiets.
There are sections you’ll go through that speak to what’s necessary to heal different parts of yourself, addressing what may have caused the hurt to begin with, and each devo has the standard setup – Bible verse, anecdote, reflection – but there’s an addition to the page that makes it unique. At the bottom of each page is a little inspiration to add to a prayer jar! The advanced reader copy that I have doesn’t contain the instructions but even without that I completely understood the concept and I was able to create something special.
The Prayer Jay Devotional: Healing was an enjoyable read. I had not realized it was inspired by New York Times bestselling author Wanda E. Brunstetter's The Prayer Jars fictional book series. So I would recommend it, even if you have not read her books. She shares encouraging devotional readings centered around the theme of healing. Each page has a title, a Bible verse, the reading, a short prayer, and a prayer jar note. There is also a list of Bible verses at the end.
I recommend
Devotionals are always one of my most loved books. This one did not disappoint. I will continue to re-read this for years to come. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

I am looking forward to reading more books by Wanda E Brunstetter , Janice Thompson.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are my own.
I have always loved Wanda's books! This devotional had me the moment I saw this beautiful cover!! Great detail! Wanda has always been very inspirational! I always thought prayers should go in a jar! They are safe and cherished! Wanda definitely conveys that!
It is special to have a devotional book which is inspired by a work of fiction by Wanda Brunstetter. Janice Thompson joins the beloved author of Amish fiction in penning a collection of devotions that focus on healing.
I received an advanced reader's copy of this devotional from Barbour Publishing and NetGalley. This is my own unsolicited opinion of the book.
Sections devoted to different types of healing are throughout the book with titles including:
Healing Hearts: Emotional Scars
Healing From Unexpected Trauma
Exhaustion: Slowing Down to Heal
Spiritual Healing (and more)
Brief daily devotion has a title, leading Scripture verse and words of encouragement, prayer prompt and an inspiration for a prayer jar message. There are many types of healing a person may need of months and years of wounds from tragedy, trauma, abuse and spiritual attacks. A Scripture index is included at the end of the book. I find that the devotions make me think and can encourage a reader to ask questions.
Have I made past hurts my identity?
Have I asked God to heal my wounds? Will I let Him? Have I left them to fester and infect?
What do I allow in my life to keep me from healing?
This book deserves a 5-star rating
When you combine these devotionals with Scripture you may find the wisdom of the writers some help in your journey to healing.
"Yesterday is in the past. Today is a gift from God."
The Prayer Jar Devotional for Healing is a beautiful and heartfelt guide for anyone seeking comfort and spiritual growth through prayer. Each page offers a peaceful retreat, encouraging you to slow down and connect deeply with your faith. The devotions are thoughtfully crafted, providing not just words, but a healing experience that feels personal and nurturing. Whether you're healing from past wounds or simply looking to deepen your spiritual practice, this devotional is a soothing balm for the soul.
I would assume this is a good book. Her other books are amazing, but since I cannot read a lot of this because it’s so small on the app. Would be better if one could download it to kindle. What I did read were great devotions for healing. Pepping the reader up with encouraging words and scripture.
A few years ago, my mom bought me The Healing Jar by Wanda Brunstetter saying that it seemed like the kind of book I would really love. The idea of prayers and notes in jars is something that really pulls my heart in the way that makes me want to do something like that as well. When I saw the devotional companion to that one book of the series that I have, I just had to request it. I absolutely love the idea of Christian authors writing books centered around Christ and writing a devotional to go along with it. I really love the pages of encouragement and verses that authors Brunstetter and Thompson compile. And the prayer jar inspiration at the bottom really help to summarize each concept and make it really personal. I love how it encourages to maybe even set up a personal prayer jar and draw closer to the heart of Christ.
A lovely devotional by author Wanda E. Brunstetter, one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre. Based on her The Prayer Jar fictional series, this devotional focuses on healing through related scripture, stories, prayers, and the inspiration to make your own prayer jar. Recommended!
I enjoyed this book along with the devotionals. The scripture after the caption tied into each other very well and caused me to pause and reflect. Great book for someone as a gift who needs encouragement. I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own.
Throughout our lives, we all experience times of needing healing, be it physically, spiritually, or emotionally. This lovely devotional touches on so many aspects that affect us in our lives. Each devotion includes a scripture pertaining to the subject, a prayer jar inspiration to help you with what you want to put in your own prayer jar and lovely artwork at the bottom of the page. This would make a beautiful gift.
Thanks to Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book that will help bring healing to all who read it.
I absolutely love how this devotional is set up. Each page has a title, a Bible verse, the reading, a short prayer, and a prayer jar note. There is also a list of included Bible verses at the end. There are so many special moments in this book. I was really touched several times while reading. I really had to take a look at my own healing through depending on God. Wonderful devotional!
LOVE.
I have the other two books in this series and this one is also a must read. The stories are inspiring and motivational. They also included a verse or prayer if you want to create your own Prayer Jar. I think now the time for me to start my own jar.
This will be a perfect gift for a few of my friends. Many thanks to the author, Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
I love the topics in this devotional. It spoke to my heart. I loved having a scripture to dive into on every page. I love that flowers at the bottom of each page. Perfect for a healing Christian
