This man is so gone for this woman from the minute he sees her. A great audio. The narrator’s were fantastic.

I overall liked this book. However, it was hard to get thru the beginning but but the middle I was invested.

Kiera Garrison is a 21 year old wife of a man that hates her and stole her family's land. In walks in Gerard Sovereign. He's handsome and dangerous. What starts as a meeting with her husband, end up being a whirlwind of events.

I tried to listen to this book on audible but I couldn't get past the voices so I read it on kindle. That made it so much easier to picture characters and backdrops. This reminded me of 50 Shades of Gray but a western version that I ended up liking.
Thank you Netgalley for a ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Did I love 50 shades? YES
Did I love Yellowstone? YES
Did I pick this up solely on being told it had yellowstone and 50 shade vibes? YES
Did I like it ? NO

This didnt work for me. I dont like a flip flop heroine (so strong.. but so weak) .. it felt she didnt actually mature at all.

The name sovereign.. HAWT.. but did you need to mention it as well as what he goes by every few pages?

BDSM and spicy scenes are great!! BUT did I need as much as I was given? NO

Did I get the ick and quit the book when Sovereign said he can smell her ovulation? . YES

The premise of this book has me very intrigued. But then this book became 90% smut with a dash of plot and a sprinkle of character detail/development. Kiera just had no personality for me, and Gerard was just tooo much of a Dominant, that it was the only thing about him. By the time we got more degails for him it was literally intermingled during a s-eggs scene and I just was so desensitized from the spice to care about his past traumas 🙃🙈

I wanted more from this book unfortunately. I wanted more Yellowstone drama and this just feels like a fan fic of Rip and no drama really aside from the first 15%

Will I listen to the second book? Leaning more to probably not sadly.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book. This is my honest review

This was a great listen! The spice was very spicy and the plot was actually very entertaining if a little unbelievable at times. But who needs a believable plot when you have Sovereign? Not me!

This was okay. Not the best or the worst I have read. A little too much instant love for my taste.

Overall I enjoyed the narrators, but both weren’t great at doing the opposite character’s voice.

If you're into dark, spicy cowboy romances, this one’s for you. Keira ends up in a mess after her abusive hubby dies, and brooding rancher Gerard Sovereign steps in with his secrets and dominant streak. Think Yellowstone meets Fifty Shades!

Expect lots of steam, a wild ranch setting, and intense BDSM action. The dual POV adds depth, and the narrators did an amazing job. Not for the faint of heart, but dark romance lovers will enjoy this. 5/5 stars!

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook ARC. Check it out if you dare!

for fans of:
- Red Flags (the book not the people, but also the people)
- It Kills Me

"Sovereign" is about a submissive young woman, Keira, who finds herself in hot water after her abusive husband mysteriously passes away. She is alone in the world with debt up to her ears, and she has no idea how to save her ranch. She is naive and sheltered, so when Sovereign, a notorious rancher, offers her a solution, she grabs onto it with both hands. Little does she know that Sovereign is a hard and damaged man with some dark secrets and a penchant for violence.

This book includes:
- atmospheric ranch setting in rural America
- domineering MMC with a dark past
- a naive and sheltered FMC looking for someone to save her
- BDSM
- age gap relationship
- dual POV
- cowboys and ranchers and other blue-collared hotties
- TW. dub-con, murder, emotional abuse, financial abuse, etc

This book checks all the boxes for a dark romance set on a sprawling ranch. It has wide horses, cows, and a MMC who is good with his hands. Yes, that is meant to be a double entendre. There are lots of steamy scenes in the book and if you like the dynamic between a bossy MMC and a damsel in distress FMC, you'll enjoy their romance. Personally, I found the book to be a little corny; it takes itself so seriously and doesn't acknowledge the absurdity of some of the character's behavior. Keira made so many bad decisions and had very little personality, and Sovereign was inconsistent in some of his behavior.

That said, I think lots of readers would enjoy this book. The romance was just not for me, personally.

This was my first audiobook with Oliver Clarke and it won’t be my last! He has the perfect voice for Sovereign and was exactly what I imagined when I ARC read this at the beginning of the year!

I thoroughly enjoyed this dual narration! I would definitely recommend this audiobook to friends!

I love me a romance. I'm so so entranced with this book. I can't wait to read this whole series and really fall into this world.

This was a little too dark for my taste, but I know there are so many who would love it. I can see the appeal of it for sure, my issues with the book are purely my own. If you're a dark romance person, this one is definitely for you!

This quick read, billionaire cowboy meets damsel in distress novel, is reminiscent of a spicy BDSM Yellowstone (at least in theory).

This book seemed good on paper (or according to the blurb), but it just didn’t work for me, because I could not get myself to like Sovereign. I think to be into a spicy novel, you have to be at least somewhat attracted to the character, and that was just not the case here. I did not particularly vibe with Kiera either, she seemed a bit too much of a deer in the headlights to be relatable to me. I might have been able to overlook the skewed power dynamics and/or the age gap between the two character, if I had actually liked the characters.

If I had not received an ALC, I would have DNFd this book pretty early on. This way, I listened to the end, but there were just not enough things to like about this book.
I would like to point out that the majority of women still get periods, even if they use birth control. I don’t know why this bit of misinformation was added to this book and why it is spread this way, but it is a pet peeve of mine when misinformation about the female reproductive system gets spread.

I liked the dual narration, meaning that the male voice actor did all the voice acting for male characters and the female one all the female voices. I liked the voice of the male narrator, but I felt like it was less clear than that of the female narrator.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for gifting me this ALC of the audiobook to review. All opinions are my own. I was not paid to leave this review.

I really enjoyed this book. The beginning was so cool. The way it started. And the way they met was insane. I also really liked the spice. It was very well written.
The audio was great! I had never listened to either narrator before but they were both great

Keira was forced to marry a man she didn't love after the passing of her beloved father. She believed it was her only option to keep her families ranch. She dealt with a lot of daily abuse and was treated like a slave by her husband. To him she was only a business transaction. She never expected to meet a man that would save her from the terrible life she was living.

Gerard Sovereign saw Keira once and immediately knew he would stop at nothing to have her. A meeting with Sovereigns biggest competitor, Keiras husband, is where he witnessed the environment Kiera was living in and wanted nothing more than to protect her. He gave her a strict contract that she had to sign to take a chance on a different life.

I was looking for a romance with Yellowstone/cowboy vibes, and this book more than delivered. Sovereign is a dark, age gap, cowboy romance that will give you all the feels. The jump Keira made from one life to another was quick, but much needed. I didn't expect the ending even a little bit. This is a stand alone read, but is part of a series and has upcoming releases this year. I have to have them all!!

I was Gifted this ARC of Sovereign by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was full of spice and lots of naughty while we see a very broken Keira who married a very bad man who had a lot of secrets. When he suddenly dies Keira is given a proposition by Gerard that she just can’t refuse and doesn’t really want to because there is something about this man that she just can’t stop thinking about him. This has a lot of Dom and Sub content in it so if you love that type of play this might be a great book for you.

This was an emotional and dark story.
It was full of pain, and humiliation, heartbreak, and grief.
There was so much healing for both Keira and Gerard. They’ve both had traumatic pasts, they’ve been molded by their trauma and pain.
But the chemistry and passion that sparks between them will be the catalyst for their healing. They will battle through their darkness and fall hard.

Very well written (even if it was'nt for me)

I thought I would enjoy this book but I cannot stomach the dialogue from the MMC and the FMC feels as she has a lot of growing up left to do.
