While it veered into more victim-blaming territory occasionally, overall this was a solid look at the messages we tell ourselves and how that influences our reactions to other people's treatment of us.
Some great tips and practices in here. I enjoyed this book.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this review copy
This book will definitely call you out on some of the unhelpful habits and ways of thinking, that maybe keeping you from forming and attracting your best and happiest relationships. In truth, while in the first few sections of this book I was ready to DNF it just because the ideas presented did not apply to myself or were things I had already worked on previously. As someone who has read books on this topic before and previously worked on the subject matter personally, I feel that this book is definitely better as a primer or early book in your self love and relationship work journey.
There is good advice and plenty presented for the reader to work on, however for someone who has already progressed down their path to love (self and other) there is not much new on the subject presented.
Highly recommended for beginners.
The Love Habit : Daily Self-Care Practices for a Happier Life and Healthier Relationships. This book offers some interesting advice and instructions for breaking free of unhealthy relationships and improving your own view of yourself. Not all of it resonated with me, but there was some good food for thought and advice. Overall a good read.
