Thank you to the author, publisher, narrator and Net Galley for providing a free e-audio version of this title in exchange for my review.
Third book in the Marlow Murder Club series, and I've read the pervious books. I enjoyed the first, disliked the 2nd, and I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. Though, overall, I disliked this one. The narration was ok, and I understand that this takes place in a small British town, but the author seemed to over-do the accents and it really got on my nerves after a while. I had to keep taking a break just to avoid that.
Then there's the fat-shaming. That turned me off RIGHT away, and I very nearly turned off the book then and there. I kind of wish I had. I understand that the main characters are older ladies, and to them it might be perfectly fine to criticize a character based on their food or eating or appearance - but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it or like it. It was rather disgusting to hear some of the the comments these ladies made about others.
The mystery was - ok? I guess? Maybe? There were so many side tracks describing how a person makes a cup of coffee and endless details about things that do not matter (!!) I found myself forgetting that there was a mystery there. Far too much filler in this book and the editor should have another go at this one. Though I suppose that helps the word count.
Then let's complain - endlessly!! - about the mother in law.
I honestly can't think of a thing I enjoyed about this book. Big disappointment.
2 stars - generously given - for a 1 or 1.5 star book. And somewhere between "it was ok" and "did not like it"

I was so excited to see that there was a new book in this series! These ladies are amateur crime fighters, but unlike so many of these kinds of stories, they're quite clever. The theme in this one is reminiscent of Agatha Christie, as is the small-town British setting. The narrator's accent made this that much more enjoyable. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

With this being the newest book in a series, I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series. The author brings the wonderful characters to life and one feels like you’re apart of the town that it’s set in. The reader was fantastic and had an amazing way of making sure each character is its own unique identity.

It feels like every police department needs these three ladies to solve crimes. While it's disturbing to know that these women were in every crime scene when crime was happening, they were better than any esteemed criminologists. One could not ignore what they brought to the table!
Mayor of Marlow dropped like a leaf after taking a sip from his coffee. Suzie saw this happening and as always Marlow Murder Club ended up being part of the investigation. With DI Tanika getting her promotion, they now had the free reign to talk to anyone and insert themselves into any scene. This time they had less than what they usually had to work with but never underestimate power of Judith, Suzie, and Becks.
I have this feeling that these women might end up getting a proper police badges if they solve one more murder. Unofficial ones won't cut them. I'm looking forward to read what other trouble they will get themselves into.

I enjoyed this book so much!! It was so great to join the fun group of ladies again investigating around town. I didn’t guess the twist or the killer and very much enjoyed the ending. Excellent read!
Thanks so much RB Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook!

This is such a fun cozy mystery series and is perfect for fans of "The Thursday Murder Club" which also has a fantastic set of characters! There are a good amount of red herrings in this one and I unfortunately was wrong about the final reveal. I don't know how many more books in this series, but I am hoping for at least 3 more! I love the three female leads who each have their own unique personalities. While this could be read as a standalone, you would be missing the depth of characters if you don't read the other two books in this series. They are about 300ish pages, so not too long to get through!
Thank you so much to the author and netgalley for allowing me to read this early in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the third book in the Marlow Murder Club series and while the mystery aspect was great there wasn’t as much about the three main characters. This instalment was much more plot focused than the first two. The setting, tone and writing were all great, and the mystery kept me guessing until the very end. I also listened to the audiobook, and as always the narration was fantastic. Judith had the most going on for her besides the mystery, but I felt like Susie was just there for investigation. This time the gang is involved in the murder investigation from the very start and they were able to run amok as they pleased, I kind of missed the pushback that they used to get from the police investigator. Almost every character introduced had a motive for the murder so it was a bit hard to narrow it down as a reader. I would still continue the series (and I’ve heard there’s a tv show out there too) as I’ve really enjoyed it as a whole. This addition was just as fun, I just wanted to see a little more out of the characters.
Thanks to NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press and Robert Thorogood for this e-ARC/ALC

So many suspects! So many threads! So many clues! So many red-herrings! So many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC/Audiobook. Love the narrator - so Miss Marple!

Just as good as number one and number two And thank you Robert Thorogood for using the same narrator for this book as you did with the first two books. **Chefs Kiss**
I have enjoyed the Marlow Murder Club mystery series from the very beginning, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on the third book in this series.
I devoured this one as quickly as the other two in the series and found it just as delightful as the first two. The plot was engaging, kept me guessing along the way, and the characters were true to their nature and funny as usual.
The dynamics of the three characters are so much fun. I enjoy their friendship, the fun they have together, and the three distinct personalities all joined together to make it extra special. And the narration is SPOT ON. She does it so well for each character- an accent just different enough to make it unique to that character, but not awkward to the point where I can't stand to listen.
So thankful I was able to listen to this before the publication date. Huge thank you to #Netgalley and RB Media for the advanced audio copy of this book. I have no doubts this book will be a re-listen for me in the future. <3
