What a wild life. Being a huge Seinfeld fan I was quite interested in learning more about the actor who brought the larger than life character of Cosmo Kramer to life. Michael Richards’ Entrances and Exits did not disappoint, though it definitely surprised me…repeatedly. Yes, of course Seinfeld and the Kramer character are discussed, how could they not be seeing as it is the role he is best known for, but his life before assuming that fascinating character is every bit as wild and outrageous as Kramer himself. And honestly listening to him tell his life story, you can see how much it feels as if he always was or working toward actually being a real life Kramer. Street racing? A bus driver? A solider in the army? When I think of Michael Richards these are but a few of the things I’d never have expected from the man. From the start of his life where he was briefly given up for adoption, Entrances and Exits is filled with incredible story after incredible story detailing the journey of how Michael became the outrageous comedian that made so many of us laugh. I’d like to thank RB Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review an advanced audio copy of Entrances and Exits.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook Entrances and Exits by Michael Richards.

I was so excited to see this on Netgalley! I have to talk about the show Seinfeld to start this review because that is where it all starts for me. I started watching Seinfeld with my father when I was WAY too young to appreciate the humor and I remember laughing at Kramer because his physical comedy struck a chord with me. As I got older the show became my favorite and at 35 I watch the entire series at least 10 times a year. When I met my husband and he told me he didn't like Seinfeld, I told him I didn't think it would work. (As it turns out he did like the show, he just didn't give it a chance) I know an actor is more than the show they are known for but the whole reason I read this book is because Seinfeld is a daily part of my life. Kramer was always such a great character and no one else but Michael Richards could have played him. Kramer wouldn't be the character we know and love without Michael's insight, brilliance and him putting his entire heart and soul into it and that comes through in this book.

Going into this book I didn't know a lot about Michael Richards outside of Seinfeld and the stand up incident that got him kind of cancelled. I remember hearing a rumor years ago that he was not very social with the cast of the show outside of filming and that was it. So when I heard his was writing an autobiography I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

Entrances and Exits is a fascinating view into the psyche of Michael. I had no idea how introspective he is. Michael is so curious about the world, about people, who we are, why we are, what makes us truly human. He lived life taking the unbeaten path and makes no apologies for it. He is unapologetically who he is. He spoke of his childhood, getting into the military, people from the beat generation, the whole "Give Peace a Chance" era and his experience with the world at that time. He spoke of going to school, his introduction to theatre, his time working his way up through the comedy scene, his father and the pain that carried itself into his adult life. He spoke about girlfriends, friendships, comedians... And of course Seinfeld. His love for his castmates and what that show meant to him was so apparent.

This book was raw and insightful and funny and perfect for the Seinfeld fan but you do not have to be a Seinfeld fan to take something away from Entrances and Exits. Micheal Richards narrates this book himself which makes it that much better

5 stars.. bravo Michael Richards!

I listen to the forward by Jerry Seinfeld, and I am hooked. I loved the television show, SEINFELD, and the character, Kramer. It is clear, this book is meant for me to enjoy. What fun!

First, a big thank you to Michael Richards’ mother for giving us your son. The world is a funnier place with Michael in it. I like listening to Michael Richards’ narration. Just hearing his voice makes me smile. It’s fun to discover the behind-the-scenes details leading up to and during his time performing on SEINFELD. I enjoy hearing about Michael's exploration of ideas throughout his college years. During listening to the first half of the book, it is a pleasure to happen upon SEINFELD “Easter Eggs” (little references to things from the SEINFELD television show). I continue to follow the ins and outs of Michael's life and find I must listen to the book until its conclusion. Michael Richards has the Kavorka. Giddyup! Thank you, RB Media and NetGalley, for the chance to listen to and review an advance listener copy of ENTRANCES AND EXITS.

Wow!
What a phenomenal book!
What a phenomenal character he is!
And what a terrific actor!

I learned so much about him and his life that I never expected. I always just thought of him as that crazy guy on Seinfeld. But NO, he’s so much more!

From a difficult childhood, to his time spent in Vietnam, to his multiple jobs and trainings… Just wow! What an incredible guy! What a difficult upbringing. And, from an Italian background! I never knew that either!
Thank God for his grandma and her ailing health…or he may not have grown to be who he became!

The book was amazing!
Made me LOL! (Multiple times…)
Yet, also made me cry. He had some really difficult times in his years. Whether it be work, love, people not liking him (or understanding him), network problems… or health issues…
Additionally, I had no idea that he was such a spiritual person.
This book took me by surprise on so many levels…

But when he makes you laugh…well, it’s amazing.
To hear how he prepared for the shows…how he made himself into the character…just, WOW!

And with him narrating the book?
Well, it’s like I’m watching the movie of his life…right in my head!!

I was so lucky to be able to get this last minute via #NetGalley! So, thanks so much to NetGalley and #RBMedia for the ARC of the audiobook which released 6/4/24.

#EntrancesAndExits by #MichaelRichards with a foreword by #JerrySeinfeld. And as I mentioned earlier #MichaelRichards (aka, Kramer) also narrated the book, beautifully!!

I loved this audiobook. I loved the behind the scenes of Seinfeld especially, and the intro from Jerry himself.

Fantastic!
The first thing I’d say is the audiobook is an absolute necessity.
Read by Michael it is an absolute treat to be taken through his childhood, army days, his love for theatre, comedy career and of course Seinfeld.
The narration of his book is a must not miss performance as he tells us of his audition for Seinfeld, shows and friendships with Larry David, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams and Jay Leno as only he can.
I was enthralled throughout and it had me laughing out loud many, many times.
So good I would go back and listen again and I would say this would interest anyone with a penchant for tv/ theatre/ film not just a Seinfeld nut.

Many thanks to Michael Richards and NetGalley for the ARC/audiobook. From the foreword written and narrated by Jerry Seinfeld's enamoured account of his relationship with Michael to the last words narrated by the author, this has been a thoroughly enjoyable book of a very funny man. Who can't remember Kramer throwing open Jerry's door and sliding across the floor of the latter's apartment? I had a velvet paint-by-number of Kramer in his velvet suit jacket once. Reading more about Michael's life hit all the feels, and I will probably re-visit this one at a later date.

Candid, raw, and deeply personal, “Entrances and Exits” is an honest exploration of Michael Richards’ life thus far. I had the privilege of listening to the audio book version of his memoir, and what a joy it was to join Michael on this journey. Michael invites readers into a vivid tapestry of behind-the-scenes stories, sharing humorous and heartfelt anecdotes from the set of Seinfeld that are as entertaining as they are revealing. As an introvert navigating the extroverted world of entertainment, his honesty about the pressures of fame and the struggle for self-healing is both refreshing and deeply relatable.

“Entrances and Exits” delves into the complexities of balancing a public persona with private insecurities, offering a raw and insightful look at Michael’s path to redemption. Central to his memoir is a thoughtful and introspective discussion of the infamous 2006 Laugh Factory incident that once dominated headlines. Michael’s exploration of this pivotal moment is marked by sincerity and wisdom, providing a nuanced perspective that adds depth to his narrative.

A must-read for fans, Michael’s memoir is a poignant journey of self-discovery and growth. It’s a testament to resilience, making it an inspiring and engaging read.

Many thanks to NetGalley, and RB Media/Recorded Books for the opportunity to listen to and review “Entrances and Exits”.
