This is a fun early graphic novel for kids reading above easy readers, but not fully into chapters yet. In it, we have a boy and his best sandwich trying to find stuff to do on a rainy day. They try to be stunt performers and prove it with three stunts, but will they both survive? The story is fun. It’s cute. It’s a tad bit ridiculous but that’s exactly why kids are gonna like it.

Both my 5&8 year olds enjoyed this graphic novel.

The main character decides to “play” with his talking sandwich. Of course it’s very silly. It’s a short fun little book. There’s not a huge amount of plot or discussion points, from a teachers point of view. But it is an easy read for 1st-2nd grade.

My son is reluctant reader. He is busy and always on the move. It takes a lot to get him to sit and enjoy a book with me. He loved this story. He giggled all the way through it. He a,so felt like he was a big kid because of the bright, colorful graphic novel format. Major win for my kindergartener.
