Gut Health for Women by Christine R. Scott
⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Pages: 170 / Genre: Non-Fiction
I’m currently on a health kick, so I checked my NetGalley options for a free book to help start me off. This book is written in a helpful, friendly tone and contains a lot of good ideas, albeit nothing revolutionary or special. It also felt more like a summary of the actual book. Rather than providing helpful infographics, it suggested infographics to look up or create yourself, like an Omega-3 Rich Foods Infographic or an Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie Bowl Infographic. And instead of giving you a meal planning template, it suggested looking for one online. I guess since you can’t please everyone, you might as well let them find one what works best for them, sure, but I still expected to see an example of one that the expert/author would fine helpful. There are also no recipes in this book either. Just suggestions of what to include in a healthy salad or smoothie or stew. This is really just a book of suggestions. Suggested healthy ingredient swaps and ideas for healthy meals and snacks, but no actual recipes. If you’re a good cook and already have a recipe in mind, you could make these quick swaps, but if you’re like me and need an actual recipe to follow, this is not the book for you. But if, you want to check it out, it’s currently free with Kindle Unlimited.
Thank you, @NetGalley for my gifted copy.
This could not have come at a better time to educate me on all the gut health issues as I approach my mid aged years. Oh how our body is constantly changing and this book gives some insight on staying healthy and balanced!
This book is a great resource. For someone like me that struggles with my gut health daily, I found it very informative and useful. Highly recommend picking it up.
I was very pleased to receive this book for review. Thank you to the publisher, the author and Net Galley. My review opinions are my own.
Gut health is a serious heath issue and one I have been doing research on since my colonscopy process ruined my stomach. This is a great women's stomach health book, that all women can relate to. The author writes for all ages and stages of women's life. I found it to be a guidebook that I refer to often and utilize to build better gut health. Traditional medicine will ruin your stomach and if your seeking health for your gut without traditional medications the author has outlined healthy ways to heal our gut and maintain our gut health. I highly recommend this book for your health. This is the ultimate gut guidebook for women. Don't listen to your doctors read this book and utilize the authors suggestions for nutrition and supplements to heal your gut health.
I like this book, it was informative without sounding too much like a book for medical professionals. It spoke to you like a friend and in no way condescending. There are many ideas and recipes I will try.
this book is extremely informative yet easy to understand! it’s a great starting point to better understand how the guy influences women’s overall health, and provides many easy actionable steps to better gut and overall health through diet and exercise. looking forward to implementing some of the changes suggested to improve my health!
Christine has created an informative, useful guide for women, delving into the specifics even down to the different age groups and circumstances that affect women throughout their lives.
I found myself taking notes, particularly of the anti-inflammatory food advice and recipes. I appreciated the deep-dives into each food group, setting out why they're important and how they benefit the body, alongside budget-friendly shopping staples.
The only addition I'd recommend is the inclusion of occasional pictures of the recipes or graphs and illustrations of the various food groups - I believe that visual stimulus would greatly enhance the experience and make the advice stick more.
Gut health is important not only to feel good but also because the functioning of the gut and the brain are intertwined. Women and the influence of their changing hormones make focusing on gut health even more important.
Utilizing a holistic approach, this book strives to integrate nutrition, exercise, and positive mental health to maintain overall well being. The different stages of a woman’s life and her needs in those areas are discussed, with practical suggestions provided for each. I particularly liked the specific dietary recommendations.
This is an excellent resource for women looking to improve their gut health or take preventative measures for the future.
A comprehensive approach to women’s health, the only thing addition I would have liked are some specific recipes….Perhaps there will be sequel?
As a momma of four, I am always just beside myself not knowing what to do with my weight and my health. But I know its the inside too. This book as marvelous! Just beautiful! And so encouraging and helpful to woman. It was laid out so it made it feel possible! And not like some book that just seem too complex. I absolutely devoured this book. I would love to share it with friends. Wonderfully done
