Invisible boy and his sidekick, Gene, want to fight crime. Their invention, Trash Robot, has been programmed to find crime. But there is no real crime in town until Invisible Boy’s dad’s hardware store is robbed. To help, they open a smoothie stand to raise funds. Along the way, they battle henchmen, go to a minigolf venue, and giant-like combatants. Will Invisible Boy and Gene save the town and help the hardware store rebuild?
The plot Is humorous, engaging, and well-written. The characters are engaging, unique, and entertaining. The illustrations are inviting and help bring to life the mayhem throughout the book. Readers who like Captain Underpants, fantasy, superheroes, magical realism, and humor will want to pick this one up. Recommended for most library collections. 4 stars, Gr 3 to 7.
