So early on in the book, this amazing author captures my attention with her sentences along the lines of “Cassie maybe right, maybe a stranger is spying on the family at night, and this stranger may know too much about the present or secrets of the past”. This book is phenomenally written with a quick turn pager, and twists you don’t see coming! I would definitely read more books from this author!
Thank you Jill Childs and NetGalley for allowing me to read this amazing book!
This was a gripping mystery that hooked me from the start. Many twists and turns that kept me thoroughly engaged and a shocking plot twist to end it! As a fan of mysteries/psychological suspense, I will be looking for more titles by this author to add to my TBR pile!!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
This was brilliant, it kept me guessing and was full of shocking twists and turns. What an ending! A great read.

Oh man this needs to be made into a netflix series! I'd watch it. I loved this book! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved the storyline and the characters. Well done!
- [ ] This is a story about two friends who would go to the ends of the Earth for each other. But nothing is as it seems. This book is full of exciting twists, one after another-and as a voracious thriller reader, I had absolutely no idea what the next twist would be! And there were several twists! The characters could have been more well-developed. Part of the reason I was unsure of each twist was because I didn’t know the characters well enough to predict their actions. Still would recommend and still enjoyed. 4 ⭐️!

summary:
This book is about a woman named Anna, who lives in a idilic community with her daughter, Cassie, when she finds her best friend Lily’s father, Dr. Taylor, murdered in his home across the street. The Taylor’s were like family to Anna and her brother, Tim, and all three of them, along with Lily’s brother, George, are crippled with guilt. Who would kill the beloved Dr. Taylor and why? What did Anna see out the window when she found his body? And why is someone now lurking outside at night and leaving threatening notes for Anna and her family?
This book is an incredibly quick read, focusing on the mystery and the various players involved. They don’t go super deep on any of the characters’ personalities or backstories, but it works given the length of the book and the focus on the mystery itself. There are a couple of twists and turns and red herrings, and the end IS more surprising than you think it’ll be, with one bomb dropped, then a second, with an eerie cliffhanger at the end. There is also a fun, softer secondary plot around who Cassie’s father is, which adds another element to the overall story. For fans of quick reads, murder mysteries and fast thrillers, this book is definitely for you.
Thanks to Bookouture and Net Galley for the ARC, and check this out when it releases on July 15!
I raced through this book in one sitting, it was a little slow at times and I pushed on as I wanted to find out if my suspicions were true, they were but that wasn’t the twist. All in all I enjoyed the book but a few parts weren’t really believable and put me off a bit but not completely. It’s a solid 3 star book for me and I’d certainly try another of the authors books. Thank you for the arc

This book definitely keeps you intrigued and on the edge of your seat to know the answers and that ending… 🤯!
Absolutely will be recommending this book to people looking for a quick page turner.
The House Across The Street was my first Jill Childs book. The basic story line was intriguing. The story was full of twists and turns, but I found it a bit slow. I am not sure if it was my mood. I would like to read another book by the author to decide.
Thank you Net Galley, Jill Childs and Bookouture for the opportunity to preview this title and the opinions shared are my own. The book is expected to be released July 15, 2024.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. If I could give half stars it would be more f a 3.5 than 3.
I love a good domestic thriller especially between best friends ! The storyline was amazing, I just feel there were moments where the timeline seemed a little confusing and I didn’t know if days, weeks or months had passed and then it going between first person to third person narration just wasn’t as cohesive as I would have liked.
As much as had an idea of a couple of the twist that came up it was executed perfectly & fun to have them confirmed. The ending was great!! I did not see that twist coming and it left me a gasp just like I enjoy for thrillers .
Fantastic read. I really enjoyed the writing style of this author. The book was full of unexpected twists and turns that left me surprised and wanting more.
Late one night, as Anna looks out the window of her beautiful home, she observes a strange flashing light and a dark figure moving up the stairs in the Taylor house across the street. She immediately becomes alarmed. The elderly Dr. Taylor lives alone and may be in danger. When Anna enters the house to check on him, she finds that he has been stabbed to death.
The doctor’s daughter, Lilly, is Anna’s best friend. Anna immediately comes to her aid and vows to help find out who committed this horrible crime. After Anna tells the police what she knows, her life is suddenly in danger. She begins to receive threatening notes. The killer knows what she saw. When someone throws a brick into Anna’s daughter Carrie’s bedroom window, shattering the child with glass, Anna stops helping with the investigation. She is desperate to help Lilly find the killer, but her daughter’s life comes first. This is a mind-blowing, gripping psychological thriller with endless twists and turns. The grand finale is an ending that will blow you away.
Having previously read Jill Childs books before and enjoyed them I knew I was in for a good read and I am glad to say I was not disappointed.
Full of thrills and twists as expected I couldn't not put it down.
Thank you for the opportunity to review
I have to say, I was unsure of this book for awhile. It was a very slow burn for me, and I had a hard time connecting for most of the book. The last part of the book hit me with a bam! It suddenly picked up speed, and had some really amazing twists that I did not see coming. The last part of the book DEFINITELY made up for the slow burn, and really made me enjoy it.
This was the definition of a thriller. It had me at the edge of my seat straight away and I needed to see how it ended and I think the ending was even better than I thought, I didn't see it coming!
The ending was HOLY COW, but overall I thought the book was kind of dull and dragged on. I actually skimmed more than anything and even jumped quite far ahead to see what happened. Not for me, although I have enjoyed other books by Jill.
Family secrets and lies always come back to haunt you in the end. The House Across the Street is about two separate families that will do whatever it takes to keep their secrets hidden.
This book is a fast paced thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. This is my first book by Jill Childs but it won't be my last.
Oh wow what a fantastic thriller this was once I started I could not put down. It was a thriller full of secrets and so many twists and turns when you think you know how it’s going to end boom another twist. And wow what can I say about that fantastic ending such a big surprise. I will definitely be looking out for more book from this talented author. I will definitely be recommending this fantastic book to everyone. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this great book,

This book has so many twists right at the end which I didn't see coming. Brilliant from start to finish.
