Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a highly anticipated read for me this year, and It unfortunately left me a bit disappointed. The whole reincarnating every 18 years was interesting enough to want to see it thru to the end (as much as I wanted to DNF) for the big reveal, but when it finally happened, I was just not impressed. The ending left me staring at a wall, asking myself "thats it?"

Although I understand why it was done, the time jumps were overkill. It was way too much in my opinion. I found myself skimming a lot of parts, just wanting to be back in the present time. Wanting to know what was going to happen to her sister, and if Evelyn would survive long enough to save her. The relationship between them was probably my favorite part of the whole story. It was relatable. There was love. I even found myself laughing a lot with them, but the relationship with Evelyn and Arden was lacking. I felt nothing for them towards the end.

Overall, I think its a good book for the right reader. Just wish I was one of the many who seem to be enjoying this book.

"If a hero is someone who will give up love to save the world, then a villain is the reverse. Someone who will give up the world to save love."

We follow our main characters, Evelyn and Arden, through a cat-and-mouse chase that lasts multiple reincarnations. Every life, Arden kills Evelyn; in this life, she decides she has had enough. She has to figure out why she's being hunted and finally break the curse that's been plaguing her for multiple lives.

4⭐️

I can see why we're comparing this book to "Addie Larue" and "How to Lose a Time War." Our Infinite Fates was written so beautifully, and I know it's going to be something everyone wants to highlight and annotate. My e-arc has highlight after highlight. We're bouncing back between the present and the past, learning about this love that has transcended time. It's heartbreaking and hurts in all the right ways.

I would have given this book a 5⭐️ rating if it wasn't so slow to get into and the ending wasn't so convoluted. I wasn't expecting it but still convoluted nonetheless

" I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you "

Gorgeous prose. Got a little too repetitive for me for the whole middle part, but perhaps I'm just not a fan of reincarnation stories. The twist made me gasp with pleasure, but the way it panned from twist to end felt like all the emotional build up of the first 75% turned into a very different novel. Still wonderfully enjoyable. I suppose it's my fault I was yearning for an ending and climax that stayed as intimate as the rest of the book had been, without adding in a supernatural villain to be conquered. I would have loved for the answer to be buried within THEM.

I was provided both an ALC and an ARC of this book via Netgalley, all opinions are my own.

This follows Evelyn and Arden through a thousand years as they have fallen in love and he has betrayed and murdered in each one before she turns 18. She can't remember why he hunts her or why they are bound to each other, and he won't tell her. All she knows that in this life, her younger sister is dying and her bone marrow is the one thing that might save her. She has to evade Arden long enough for the doctors to perform atleast her part of the procedure to give her sister a chance. The only problem is she hasn't figured out who Arden is masquerading as in this life as he has hidden himself very well this time and she is running out of time before her 18th birthday.

This alternates in varying timelines from the present day to past lives that Arden and Evelyn have lived. I liked that this takes us back to several different places in history, and Evelyn isn't always a woman and Arden isn't always a man and they aren't always in a traditional heterosexual relationship. Gender wasn't a preference for either one of them, it was more the connection they shared. Sometimes they are already together while others they have to find one another and that spark takes hold when they reunite again and they remember who they are. I do wish we would have spent a little more time in these past chapters getting to know the characters and their backstories a bit more. They were significant turning points in the relationship between the two main characters and would have lent a bit more to the character development and helped us understand how deep their connection really was and why they were willing to make the bargain they did.

We eventually find out why Arden murders Evelyn every 18 years just before her birthday, but it comes toward the very end and felt a bit rushed. I was a bit disappointed with the ending despite very much enjoying the rest of the book. I thought the reveal was good and the concept was great, I just wanted a bit more development and explanation to go with that plotline. Overall I did enjoy getting to know our characters and their relationship.

WOW!!!!
that is truly all I could say after finishing Our Infinite Fates.
Was I taken for a whirlwind!!! This book was on my most anticipated reads for 2025 and it certainly did not disappoint.

Our infinite fates follows Evelyn who is immortal and has lived many different lifetimes but is killed by her soulmate, Arden, in every one. This is meant to happen right before they are able to turn 18. Evelyn in this life, has a family who she loves very much and sister who is sick. She would do anything to save her, but can Arden suffice that?

I’ll be thinking about this book particularly the ending because THE. ENDING. I loved that I was able to feel Evelyn’s pain in throughout the whole story, you could tell she loved Arden so much but felt so much resentment and anger towards him at the same time. Her grappling with those feelings had you grappling with them too and that makes for great storytelling. I had to stare at a wall for a bit after finishing. I was truly speechless.

All in all, I rated this book 4.5 ⭐️
I’ve never read anything quite like it and I’m thankful I was able to read and LOVE one of my most anticipated reads of this year!!!

Thank you to Netgalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Wednesday Books for the early e-arc in exchange for a review!! Our Infinite Fates will be out March 4th, 2025, please do yourself a favor and get a copy!!

Transcending time with breathtakingly poetic prose, this is a love story that knows no bounds.

Empathetic, endlessly hopeful Evelyn. Unrelenting, hopelessly agonized Arden. The invisible string tying them together through millennia is the cord that we unravel through each chapter in this epic love story.

I particularly loved the format of this book. We have one central timeline in present day Wales, which is then broken up with vignettes from Evelyn and Arden’s past lives. It slowly works itself backwards to reveal the origins of their cruel twist of fate through an endless tide of love and loss. A constant push and pull with an inevitable end where one of them must kill the other and start the devastating cycle over again.

There was so much yearning and even more history between them. But what I found so special was how no matter what body they found themselves in, they loved each other all the same: unconditionally. It was truly beautiful to see how the author touched on gender fluidity with such intent and care.

I was prepared to cry by the end, and I certainly teared up! It’s one of those love stories that just hits you with a gut punch and really makes you feel strongly after all they’ve been through. Highly recommend picking this one up, and I can't wait to get a physical copy! 4.5 shining stars

This book has been on my radar for a long time. I read the first couple chapters on the authors website and was immediately drawn in and excited to read the book. After receiving an arc for the book (thank you to Wednesday Books), I put off reading it for awhile because I was worried it wouldn't live up to the first few chapters. In the end, I would give this book 3.5-4 stars. It could have been so much more, and things could have been more explained, and we could have gotten to see how things played out more, but overall its a unique story with good twists. I enjoyed how the story went back and fourth and putting together the pieces of their story.

First, I want to Thank Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Evelyn and Arden destined to be together, or are they?
Are they soulmates or are they supposed to die every time they meet on their 18th birthdays.
Evelyn seems to fall in love with her families only to be fated to die at 18 every single time but this time she wants to save her sister.
Laura Steven did a great job of telling a story but I felt the story was a little to slow for me.
I also loved Evelyn and Arden but didn't feel like they possessed the real meaning of soul mates and actually hated them together (even though they were fated to be together).
Overall I think if they would have had a love that I could have felt this would have been a 5 star read for me!

I was immediately drawn to Our Infinite Fates—stories about reincarnation and love across lifetimes always intrigue me, and the premise was quite unique and totally captivating. Laura Steven’s writing is engaging and poetic, as well. I enjoyed the way we were able to see chapters from Evelyn and Ardens past, and how those past lives are referenced throughout. The mystery of why Evelyn and Arden are trapped in this cycle kept me turning the pages, wanting to uncover the truth about what happens when they turn eighteen.

That said, while I enjoyed the writing, the pacing didn’t always work for me. The past life chapters were fascinating at first, but they started to follow the same formula, making them feel repetitive rather than adding new layers to the mystery. The present-day storyline began to feel slow, revisiting the same thoughts and emotions without much forward momentum. All of that led to an ending that felt a bit abrupt, brushing over aspects of the story that had felt important to me and leaving me less than satisfied.

The romance was where I struggled most. I love the idea of two people being inexplicably connected, not knowing why, but the execution here felt off. Arden shows up to murder Evelyn every eighteen years—sometimes she practically begs them not to—and refuses to explain why (even though they clearly know). Evelyn’s deep connection to Arden, despite their role in her fate, was difficult to connect with—especially since she doesn’t truly understand why this keeps happening. And listen, I love a tragic love story, and I love unwavering love—but I need to believe in the love before I can look past the tragedy. Because of that, I struggled to invest in this side of the story. I wanted to see more depth to their bond to make it believable for me.

It was the themes of family and grief that really resonated with me. Across each of Evelyn’s past lives, her love for her parents, siblings, and other family members made every loss feel deeply personal and heartbreaking. Some of the most powerful moments in the book were when Evelyn reflected on the strong bonds she'd made in her life, knowing—whether consciously or not—that she would eventually have to leave them behind. Her longing to stay, to hold onto the life she had built in each new existence, was the emotional core of the story for me. I found myself dreading each inevitable separation, feeling the weight of those losses alongside her. Those were the moments that truly stuck with me, and I wish they had been given more weight in the conclusion, as they were what made the story feel most human and impactful.

I believe this book will find an audience. LS has a strong voice, and while this book wasn’t a perfect fit for me, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what she writes next.

4 ⭐ What a beautifully tragic book. Our two main characters, Evelyn and Arden, are cursed to love and die by each other's hands before they turn 18, and not even death can save them from this unending fate. It was poetic, albeit repetitive at some times, but I enjoyed reading it and I was NOT expecting the first plot twist, let alone the second one! I will admit, I had problems with the book after it was revealed that Evelyn was the devil that cursed them both to this fate by reaping Arden's soul, because it didn't make sense to me. She said she was immortal and couldn't die because she was born a devil, so how could Arden kill her in that "first" life? Once it was revealed that this wasn't actually the case, that Evelyn (or whatever their original name was) made a deal with the Mother to save Arden (originally Calliope?), I felt a lot better about the mechanics of it all lol. I was ready to drop the book to three stars on this fact alone, which might sound harsh, but the mechanics of it just didn't make sense (but it is obvious now that this was intentional). I can see why this book would fall under the YA category (because the MCs never make it past 18), but because their souls were reincarnated and they had lived a hundred lives, there was a depth to them that you wouldn't necessarily see in an average teenager. I think this book would have been even better if the characters were in their early 20s and it was written as an adult novel

Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/Wednesday Books for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I am fairly conflicted on how I feel about this book.

I do feel like this is going to be an absolute hit when it’s published. This will go on peoples favorite shelves. I think fans of Addie LaRue will EAT this story up.

The writing is amazing, the plot is easy to follow, you become easily emotionally connected to Evelyn and Arden’s journey. I couldn’t stop turning the page to figure out WHY these characters are stuck in this endless loop.

And yet….despite all of the positives…there is a disconnect with me and this book. The more I sit and think about it, the more I believe it has to do with the flashbacks to their past lives. There was a lot more TELLING me about their past relationship than showing me. We only ever saw what lead up to each death, rather than the growing bond and love between them over the hundreds of years of their curse. I think it would have been more impactful and more devastating if we just had a little bit more spark, more romantic moments between Evelyn and Arden.

Again, I do think this book is going to be a hit with readers. I can’t say I’ll buy a physical copy for myself but I will recommend it to my audience

I absolutely loved the uniqueness of this story! It was something I had never read or heard of before which is what initially drew me in so much. I loved how there were chapters of their past lives told backwards through time in different bits over the past 1000 years to make it all come together. And loved the wholesome ending, along with the Gracie bit! It warmed my heart !! <3

Personally, I think there could have been more bits and snippets of the love in their intertwined stories because at moments I didn’t feel their love as much but felt like I was rather being told about their love, but nonetheless it was still a really good book & read!

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Laura Steven for the advanced copy of Our Infinite Fates! This book centers around two characters - Evelyn and Arden - who play a game of cat and mouse as they are constantly reborn in close proximity. Arden kills Evelyn before their 18th birthday in every life and Evelyn must find out why in order to live a full life. I finished this book in two days; it was engaging and amazingly paced. I didn’t see the twist at the end coming and very much enjoyed how the story was closed. I definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy romance and/or fantasy. I had a great time reading this one 💕 Our Infinite Fates releases March 4 2025!

I will remember this book infinitely. Evelyn and Arden are fated to cross paths in every lifetime. With different names, different bodies and the same cursed minds they find each other and they kill each other. In every. single. lifetime. However, it is clear from the unique chemistry between them. they are fated for MORE.

An incredible story, a completely unique plot with DEPTH, and characters I ended the book feeling like I had spent lifetimes with. We are given glimpses of past lives, but by the end are completely immersed in the present, in a way I have never felt before.

The book was a quick read, fast-paced, and addictive. My only wish is that we had more time with them. Five stars to Laura Stevens and this masterpiece. I highly encourage you to read it.

I LOVED THIS BOOK, and I did not want to put it down. Any spare moment that I had, I was bringing my Kindle with me so that I could read this book.

This story is told from Evelyn's present life and her past life. Evelyn and Arden are fated by their souls, bound by a cycle where they are destined to kill each other every 18 years. They have lived thousands of lives, each time killing each other before they reach 18. Evelyn now must learn the reason behind why this is happening to them and find a way to break this cycle. While Adren knows why this is happening, he cannot reveal the truth to Evelyn. In Evelyn's present life, she loves her family, and especially her sister, very deeply, but her sister is battling cancer. The only way that Evelyn can save her is by undergoing a bone marrow transplant because she is the only match. With Evelyn and Arden about to turn 18 soon, Evelyn is racing against the clock to figure it out.

I loved Evelyn’s character so much. In the story, all she wants is to be able to donate her stem cells to her sister. You can see how much Evelyn truly cares about the people she loves. You see it with her family, but also with Adren as well. When you read the stories from their past, you can see how much their love and bond for each other grows. Evelyn is a true empath and would give up her life if it meant she could save the world.

One thing that I liked about the book was that the chapters go back and forth between Evelyn’s past and present. It always felt like you would read something that happened in the past, and it would flow so perfectly with the present. I believe Laura Steven's approach to writing this book was incredibly well thought out. It's clear that she invested a great deal of research to ensure that the experiences of the characters are authentic and believable. From the portrayal of where the characters were geographically to the depiction of different regions, her dedication to understanding and immersing herself in these cultures and belief systems is evident throughout the book.

I know like many of you, I heard about this book from TikTok so I had some pretty high expectations, but this books meets them all!

I was really excited to read this book - as I had seen it multiple times on booktok!

The story is around Arden and Evelyn and their journey through 1000 years of different lifelines. Their lives and fates are tied together, but they must kill each other once they near their 18th birthday. Evelyn doesn’t remember why they need to die, and lives all her lives being hunted by Arden. The book tells the story of their current lives, two teenagers in Wales, while showing glimpses of their past lives around the world.

While the story is well written.. I found it hard to connect with the characters and we don’t know that much about their story besides the fact that they love each other, but must kill each other? I don’t find myself rooting for either characters or their love.

I think the author tries to show too many perspectives of their past lives, and how it doesn’t matter what body or form they’re in, their love is true and to the soul. I didn’t find that this helped build the audience’s connection to the characters. If anything, it just draaaaags the story out.

I also thought this was going to be more fantasy like - given the premise of the story, but aside from their reincarnation, there doesn’t seem to be any other fantasy aspects to the story. They’re reincarnated into different bodies in different countries all over the world. There’s a lot of cultural features of the places they’re reincarnated to, but I find that it just really muddies the story.

Also - I know that this is YA but I find it crazy that Evelyn said that in the 1000 years of being together, they never had sex.

I had a lot more hope for this book, but I just don’t think it’s got quite a hook on the audience. It’s actually kind of boring and uneventful.

“To be human was to love and love and love, knowing it could only end in tragedy?”

Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I absolutely loved it!

Evelyn and Arden’s story completely captivated me. The idea that they loved each other for thousands of years, despite the heartbreak and tragic outcome every time, was both beautiful and devastating. The dual timelines, weaving between past and present, felt so magical—each glimpse into their past lives added depth and helped me understand how everything came to be.

The concept of finding your soulmate in every lifetime is so romantic and special, and Laura Steven captured it beautifully. At times, it reminded me of Divine Rivals, though the stories are entirely different.

This book made me feel so much, and I know I’ll be thinking about it for a long time.

Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press, for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely adored this book! The story was engrossing, and structure of going back and forth further into the characters’ past was so well done and really drove the narrative. It was so hard to put down - I had to keep reading in order to find out more of the mystery behind the plot. I especially loved the author’s writing style and how it evoked so much emotion.

‘Our Infinite Fates’ is highly recommended for those who loved ‘The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue’. Read if you enjoy:

🖤 Heartrending (but still swoony) romance
🖤 Atmospheric writing
🖤 Dual timelines
🖤 Plot twists

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book in advance - I can’t wait to nab my trophy shelf copy!

the concept of this one immediately had me hooked and the execution was fantastic. it gave me really similar vibes to "this is how you lose the time war" (another five star read for me) in the sense that the story is constantly playing out across time and space in a way that creates such a fantastic thread of story. i loved the exploration of what it means to love someone by their soul rather than by their physical form, and the ending of this absolutely wrecked me in the best sort of way.
