OUR INFINITE FATES is one of my most anticipated reads of 2025 and honestly, it did not disappoint. The story is an epic love story that spans generations and is a perfect YA novel for those that are romantics, love well written stories, and just enjoy a good read.
One of the things I really loved about this book was the scale and scope of it, while also creating a well crafted story. Following Evelyn and Arden, who have lived countless lives, are in love in all of them, but die by each other's hands right before their 18th birthday in every one, it is easy for the story to be bogged down in the tiny details or to be inflated. Instead, the author crafts a really engaging story in which there is just enough of everything without those issues. I found the story's pacing to be well done, if even a bit repetitive at times. I actually think the author could have expanded it just a bit more.
And the way that the author crafts the relationship between Evelyn and Arden is probably one of the most beautiful relationships I've read in a novel to date. Their love is unconditional, if not complicated. It doesn't matter WHO they are, just that they are together. No matter what, their love flourishes and blossoms every lifetime. The concept of the idea of soulmates, whether you believe them or not, is central here, as it is not about the circumstances, but accepting that person for themselves and choosing them again and again. And that, to me, is the epitome of romance.
Overall, this novel is a perfect YA novel and one that will make you think about love, soulmates, and fate and choice. I think this book is going to be a favorite of many, including me.
Thank you to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Usually I write reviews right after I finish a book, but I had to let this one sit for a day or two and really let it sink in, because WOW it was SO good!!! Better than Addie LaRue (yes, I said it!).
This book is somehow, the most subtle, yet most powerful enemies-to-lovers ever. The die-hard romantics are going to LOVE this, and I don't think I've ever read about a love so intense... ever.
Personally, I would have preferred if the two of them were each always reincarnated as the same gender each time (M/F, which is just my preference), but at the same time, I like the concept that regardless of gender, they were always drawn together, because it was their spirits or souls that were drawn together, not a physical attraction of some kind.
There are so many layers and depths to this novel, there could be some really deep discussions at book clubs for sure!
The only reason I gave this a 4.5 stars rather than a SOLID 5 was because there was a plot hole that occurred to me, and I wondered about it throughout the entire book. It briefly addressed it at the end, with only one short sentence, but it didn't really make sense and wasn't explained at all, and so what I saw as a plot hole wasn't... closed, I guess.
But otherwise, I loved this book so much!! I think it'll be a really big release when it comes out on February 27th, 2025!

Mesmerizing. One of a kind. I couldn't put it down! Arden and Evelyn's love story is just wow. I am utterly speechless. Laura Steven's writing was breathtaking. There are so many quotes that resonated for me! Needless to say I need a physical copy NOW! Can't wait for March! I preordered this around the halfway mark, and this is going to be a long wait!
I received an advanced readers copy of this book from Net Galley. This review is honest, unbiased and completely my own.

This book completely took my breath away. From start to finish, it felt like a story that was enormous and uncontainable, driven by a love so epic it practically leapt off the page. The author’s ability to balance accessibility for a YA audience with a lyrical, evocative style makes this story resonate on a deep emotional level. By the time I turned the last page, I felt both gutted and hopeful—a rare and magical combination that speaks to the author’s skill.
The narrative explores profound themes of good vs. evil, the sacrifices we make for love, and the eternal tension between selflessness and selfishness. At its heart, though, it’s a story about soulmates—two people bound together by a love so powerful it feels destined. The connection between the characters is epic, the kind of love that feels larger than life and defies time and logic. The twists and turns of their journey, including a particularly gut-wrenching moment toward the end, left me gasping and clutching my chest. It’s rare for a book to evoke such a visceral reaction, and this one does so beautifully.
If I have one critique, it’s that the resolution to the curse felt a little unclear. While the ending delivered a strong emotional impact and left me feeling hopeful, I found myself wishing for a bit more clarity about how everything came together. Even so, the emotional weight of the conclusion aligns perfectly with the story’s themes and will linger with readers long after they’ve finished.
This book is a must-read for fans of epic, emotionally intense love stories. It’s not a light or predictable romance; instead, it asks big questions about the nature of love and sacrifice and delivers answers that will stay with you. Readers who appreciate themes of fate, soulmates, and love’s ability to transcend even the greatest challenges will find this book unforgettable. It’s an original, deeply moving story that deserves to be celebrated.

This was a beautiful and emotional story of fated lovers whose story spanned so many different lifetimes, who endured tragedy and heartbreak again and again. This is what I wanted from Addie LaRue.

“They’ve loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They’ve killed each other in every one.”
When I stumbled upon this book, it immediately caught my interest. I was instantly sucked right in! Evelyn and Arden are two very interesting characters. At first, I was confused about what was happening, but then quickly caught on between the time jumps and was sucked right in. I thought it was beautiful that these characters found each other in many places and in many forms. I have heard that if you liked “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” you will like this. I have not read that (I know, I probably should) so I can not say for certain! I would definitely recommend this if you like young adult fantasy. I also found it thrilling at times, as even though you knew death was coming, you were never quite sure when it would happen!
“I love you, I have loved you, and I will love you.”
Thank you to NetGalley for my Advanced Reader’s Copy. This is anticipated to be released on March 4th.

I don't think I've ever had a book eviscerate me so thoroughly as this one did. It's so good! The climax felt very fast-paced but that worked for me because I truly was reading this for the love story. It's incredible. You'll love them, and then curse them, and will never know which way your emotions are going next.

Shelfing for now at 20% - it’s very slow, and honestly they make it sound like some epic love story, but sometimes she doesn’t even meet “him” until right before she dies… I’m not really buying it. The glimpses of each life are very very short, just pages so you don’t have time to sink your teeth into it and get invested. It’s just not clicking for me, but I could be an outlier.

This was one of my favorite books that I read in 2024. I still think about these characters. Such a unique story of love throughout the centuries. I was thoroughly invested in the plot and the characters. Just beautiful!

First, a huge thanks to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for an e-Arc of Our Infinite Fates (Silvercloak) by Laura Steven.
If you want yearning and angst, then this is the book for you!
I’ll try not to spoil anything in this review but I’m still processing; I enjoyed every second of this book. Arden and Evelyn have my heart 💜.
The story follows Evelyn and Arden through different stages of their lives. From the start, we only know that Arden repeatedly 💀 Evelyn before she turns 18. The narrative alternates between past and present, weaving the timeline in a way that keeps the mystery intact without ever pulling you out of the story.
Evelyn was an amazing MC. She's selfless, gentle, and kind, with emotions that feel so real and relatable. You can feel the depth of her love for everyone around her, and the quiet sorrow she carries. Her journey is one of pure humanity; everything she experiences, both the joy and the pain, is raw and heartfelt.
Arden… Oh, how I wanted to dislike you at times, but I couldn’t. He’s such a complex and intriguing MMC. The mysteries surrounding him are slowly unraveled, and by the end, my heart was completely shattered.
Books like this are why I still adore YA stories. I had to preorder a physical copy because I’ll be rereading this one over and over again.

I tried to read this book but I couldn't get into it. It was atmospheric but the language also felt very cliche and dramatic for the sake of being dramatic instead of making me feel invested.

I loved this! such a unique premise and very thought/provoking. I thought it was well paced and immersive. Would absolutely recommend!

Thank you to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the chance to read the e-arc Our Inifinite Fates by Laura Steven.
This book was one of my most anticipated of 2025, and it never once disappointed me. I can certainly say if the author’s writing style and future storylines even approach a pinch of what she put into this book, sign me up as a reader for life. I know this will not be as well liked by every reader, but the nonlinear narrative served the story well. The author’s placement of the story in various times, locales and cultures is so well done that you truly become ensconced in the many moments the two main characters meet throughout history. I really felt this never detracted from the forward momentum in any way.
While Evelyn (Branwen) and Arden remain the central characters to the story, I adored the relationships Branwen had with her sister and mother in the present timeline. Her selfless pursuit of a very personal nature helped to solidify her humanity for me. I truly felt the pain in the love she had for her family. For one who lived such brief and scattered lives filled with loss, one could simply decide that being connected to people, places or things is rather pointless. But Branwen digs in and dares to hope that she can seize control of her own fate, even if it is only for enough time to help those she loves. Her hopes and dreams (to live a full life, to become a clothing designer, to learn the “why’ behind her fate) are all things you find yourself holding your breath and wishing for her, even as the author ensnares you in the mystery of who Arden is and why must their connection be so fraught with violence.
And, I have to say, in spite of the inevitable, I also rooted for Evelyn and Arden in their many reincarnations. To the very end.
One of the additional things that made the story so poignant was the poetry. Arden’s words really brought home an overwhelming sense of love and the pain of the recurring loss inherent in their centuries long bond. I am crossing my fingers for the publishing of a freestanding version of “Ten Hundred Years of You.”
5/5 star read

Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven was such a unique and entertaining read. The writing was fantastic especially all the yearning. I was hooked from the start and I couldn’t put it down and when I did have to put it down, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s so good! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this and I cannot wait to read more from Laura Steven.

Part of me is furious that this was my first read of 2025, because how in the world is anything going to be better? Love and hate, yearning to be known and running when anyone looks too close - the eternal story of Arden and Evelyn ripped my heart out, stomped on it, and gave it back to me lovingly patched up. Laura Steven is truly a master at her work. I adored the historical elements blending with present day Wales and how seamlessly Arden and Evelyn’s personalities transcended gender, bodies, time or place. It truly is a story about falling in love with someone’s soul in every iteration possible. The pacing was spot on, the slow reveal of secrets and lies and things we tell those we love to protect them was perfectly gut wrenching. I read this in one sitting and was crying at the end of it. Absolutely perfect in every way, and has cemented Laura as one of my all time favorite authors!

This book was so unique, romantic, and enthralling. I loved the concept and it was such a fresh take in this genre. It’s magical being able to read a book that feels new and exciting. I love Laura Steven’s prose, the way the story is woven with so much emotion and suspense, I completely devoured this book in a day! They were the true definition of soulmates/star crossed lovers. I highly recommend!

Evelyn and Arden have loved each other in every lifetime, but somehow before their 18th birthday they always end up killing each other.
I enjoyed this book so much! I love the telling of all of their lives together. It shows how powerful their love and connection are. I just felt like the resolution was a little rushed but the epilogue?! I love every part of it! This story is very different and I love it so much! This is definitely a must read!
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s press for an ARC of this book. 💕

I loved the prose in this book and I think Laura Steven is a talented author. I was initially hooked by the story and couldn’t put it down. Alas, pacing problems. The way I could almost feel Arden’s agony at having to repeatedly kill Evelyn and Evelyn’s eternal devastation when she realizes that she must lose her family life after life, should have brought out an emotional response/tears from me. Yet, those themes were not well developed. I enjoyed jumping back to their previous lives, but those chapters too should have had more exposition to expand on the main narrative.
Unfortunately, 80% of the book is the lead-up and the “why” ended up being kinda meh. The ending too, for me, was unsatisfying at best.
So yeah, beautiful writing with an unfulfilling story
3.5⭐️

This book was one of the best books I have read in the last calendar year and the first book I read of 2025. I went into this book completely blind, other than the main concept, and it was absolutely phenomenal and deserves every bit of the 5 stars that it was given. This book was heart breaking to the very end, but at the same time brought the swooning love to life. My heart was with our main character life after life, and I literally was so heartbroken yet happy by the end.
I love the concept of the book of getting infinite lives with the person you love most and always having to die by the age of 18, which is why I requested to read it, but did not expect it to be as life changing as it was. Seriously the idea of having to kill your soulmate every lifetime before the age of 18 even though you fall in love with them at least half of the lifetimes is just heart wrenchingly beautiful. Going through the time periods and locations throughout the book of different lifetimes was so great to read and all the information was given at the perfect time and did not feel rushed. Some may say it was a little slow, but I personally thought it was fine considering it has a million lifetimes to catch you up on in such a small period of time.
If you love a book that follows love that transcends life and death then this book is for you. It is slower paced while also feeling fast paced at the same time, so be prepared for that and ensure that you want a book that will keep all the necessary information from you until the last minute when it's needed.
"I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you." So well done, and so thankful for the ARC for this book!

OUR INFINITE FATES was probably my most anticipated read of 2025. I worried it wouldn’t live up to the premise, but I’m happy to say it surpassed any and all expectations. From the first chapter until the final page, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.
