If you are looking for a fun, inspiring, summertime romcom look no further! The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh is the perfect book! I fell in love with all the characters, (even the grumpy one) and finished this book with a desire to be more open and make the most out of life!

Courtney writes such fun, clean books that leave you with that ‘feel good’ feeling! This book is filled with second chances, forgiveness, family bonds, and saying yes to new things, even if (or more like especially when) it’s outside of your comfort zone!

The Summer of Yes has me wanting to be more open this summer and I too am going to work on saying YES to more!

Huge thank you to #netgalley and @harpercollinschristian for the advanced audiobook copy!🩷

I was gravitated to the synopsis and stayed for the story. There was so much love, regret, and "yes" happening in this book. It was my first book by Courtney Walsh and I am definitely impressed by her writing, meaning I would love to read more by her <3

I loved Kelsey and Georgina's relationship and how they saw themselves in each other...and invested in each other's lives, even if fate is what brought them together. Their love stories were beautiful and the banter throughout was so fun/cheeky!

Thank you to NetGalley, Courtney Walsh, and HarperCollins Christian Publishing | Thomas Nelson Fiction for the opportunity to listen to and review an Advanced Listener's Copy (ALC) in exchange for my honest opinion.

I LOVED this book! Such an easy summer read. I loved both main characters and their relationship. No spice, so perfect for those who like closed door, PG books. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

What a charming read!! Thanks so much for the audio arc!

We start the story finding Kelsey, a 30-something writer, in the hospital. She doesn’t know what happened or why she’s there. Turns out she was hit by a car. In the room with her is Georgina. An older women who is a pseudo celebrity. She runs a very large, successful company. Kelsey even has to sign an NDA since she was privy to some of Georgina’s information.

When Kelsey leaves the hospital she starts to question her life. Her job is feeling dead-end, she is scared to go to most events, her apartment is boring. She gets the idea to visit Georgina & talks her into joining her on a “summer of yes.” It takes a lot of persistence but Georgina is dying and realizes how lonely her life has been.

The journey takes them to Georgina’s estranged husband and handsome son. She has to unpack the years of damage she’s done- while Kelsey begins to flourish in the presence of Hayden, the son.

I loved the banter between these two unlikely friends. I loved seeing Kelsey really begin to appreciate life. It made me want to say yes to more things! It was heartwarming to see the love Georgina’s family had for her- even though she didn’t quite deserve it.

I enjoyed the narrator! I couldn’t stop listening. This story also has a nice summer- road trip vibe! This will not be my last Courtney Walsh!

This book is heartwarming, wholesome and refreshing. It's a clean romance with authentic characters, subtle humor and a thought-provoking plot. I really enjoyed the banter between Kelsey and Georgina and the growth both women experienced during their Summer of Yes, as well as how Walsh approached the topics of forgiveness and grace. The audiobook narration was so beautifully done! A huge thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and HarperCollins Christian Publishing for the ARC and ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was adorable and such an easy and entertaining audiobook to listen to. The narrator did a great job with both the male and female voices and I really enjoyed the listening experience.

While it does include some deeper topics (anxiety, broken families and kidney transplant), Walsh approaches them in a gentle way that provides so much hope. Insta-love is one of my least favorite tropes, but the characters acknowledge that their quick and deep feelings for each other are surprising and unexpected, which made it feel more authentic. I loved the banter between Georgina and Kelsey, and enjoyed seeing how they both grew throughout their summer together. What a sweet story that will definitely be added to my list of summer favorites!

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of this wonderful, and thought provoking book. A young lady is at a fork in the road after an accident and an older woman is at a fork in the road after a lengthy illness. They decide to give some time in their summer to do the things they have said no to. What happens next are some unexpected adventures that change their lives. Such an awesome story.

The Summer of Yes is a story of forced friendship between workaholic, 30 year old Kelsey and business powerhouse, 70 year old Georgina. They meet after Kelsey is hit by a car and she forcefully adopts the old woman into a summer of saying yes to things they would normally say no to.

This book is just too cute! This is an easy to read feel good book. I enjoyed that the focus stayed on the relationship between Kelsey and Georgina. The banter was great. The romantic relationships were a fun sub plot but glad they didn't take front and center.

I love Georgina's character and her snark. I enjoyed watching her growth as well.

The narrators did an excellent job.

This was a 4.75/5 stars rounded up to 5.

Thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins Christian publishing, and Chloe Walsh for this ALC!

The Summer of Yes is the perfect light summer read, filled with many feel good moments. The story focuses on friendship, family, forgiveness, acceptance and standing up for what you deserve.
We meet Kelsey, an overworked editor, who dreams of being a writer and Georgina, a very successful business woman, who gave up her family to focus on her career. Kelsey develops a plan to get a reluctant Georgina to agree to spend the summer with her, taking a trip and saying “yes.” As the unlikely relationship builds, we soon learn that saying yes doesn’t always lead to the best results. The second half of this book will leave you with nothing but a smile the whole way!
Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and NetGally for the ARC!

A fun read, that gave me all the feels! This story had me chuckling out loud, but also had deeper moments of reflection. I went into this story expecting a lighthearted summer read, however it does touch on more thought-provoking topics.

Kelsey Worthington wakes up in a hospital room, after getting hit by a car that jumped the curb while getting coffee for her boss. She finds herself sharing a hospital room with Georgina Tate, a famous NYC businesswoman who is not pleased to be sharing a hospital room. After her close call with death, Kelsey begins to think about the current direction of her life. Georgina begins to realize she too has regrets as she deals with her failing kidneys. After wearing her down, Kelsey convinces Georgina to join her on a road trip in a “Summer of yes” to change the trajectory of their lives.
I’ve read a few stories by Courtney Walsh, and like the others, I thoroughly enjoyed The Summer of Yes.

This audiobook is narrated by Tanya Eby and Cathi Colas whose voices are appropriately matched to their characters. Both narrators did an excellent job and were easily understood when listened to at 1.75x speed.

Thank you to HarperCollins for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

As summer keeps on flying by, having the time to read this new book from Courtney Walsh was the breath of fresh air I needed. Thanks to NetGalley for the early access audiobook and to Courtney for sending me an ARC hard copy as well! I loved the dual narrators—they absolutely brought the lead women to life. This is a beautiful story of life—and all the hopes, dreams, fears, regrets that come along with it. This book was inspiring and fun and the lessons it taught will stick with me for a long time.

This is my first book by Walsh and I am ready to dive into her backlist. This was a story about not taking life for granted, mending relationships and building new ones. Kelsey and Georgina meets at the hospital when they shared a room. They agreed a plan of yes to doing things they normally say no to.

They end up on a road trip and Georgina is reunited with her estranged son, Hayden. We then see how Georgina and Hayden mends their relationship while Kelsey and Hayden also forms a relationship,

Tanya Eby and Cathi Colas both did great on the narration.

This is a cute book! It wasn’t my typical kind, but it was sweet and had good themes throughout. The beginning was a tad slow but it ended well.

It's a feel-good story that will have you cheering for all the characters!

Kelsey was involved in an accident that jumped started her life, giving her opportunities to say YES to herself and what she wanted. She meets Georgina Tate and strikes up a friendship that takes them on a journey to mend relationships, find joy, seek forgiveness, and trust in yourself. The Summer of Yes is full of heart and hope.

I highly recommend this book!

*Unlikely friendships
*Road Trips
*Small Town
*Family Healing
*Sweet love story

Thank you, NetGalley and Courtney Walsh, for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I immediately fell in love with Kelsey, as she hits a point in her life where she’s got some choices to make, and she chooses YES. Yes to everything out of her comfort zone and that she typically dismisses. After a minor accident lands her in the hospital and meeting grumpy Georgina, her life is changed and she doesn’t even realize it yet.

Georgina gives Miranda Priestly and Evelyn Hugo all mixed into one and I’m so here for it. She’s a boss ass bitch but only got to that point by sacrificing her family. Because of Kelsey, she’s forced/tricked into reconnecting with her husband and son, and dealing with emotions she has shut down so long ago.

Hayden is truly my favorite. He has endured such heartache in his long but still chooses the positive perspective on things, and has made such a life of happiness for himself. I love his outlook, his demeanor, and the way he can easily let grudges go and look only ahead.

This book was such a refreshing, feel good, easy read. It was so relatable, as someone who second guesses so much, afraid to take risks. Kelsey is so inspiring and makes such an impact but changing her mindset. This is a must read, not just for the summer but for anyone who needs to stop and try-evaluate where they’re at with their life. Easy 5⭐️

Courtney Walsh is a master of sweet, but not overly-sappy romances...with substance. Her characters and plot lines have depth, and The Summer of Yes was no exception. Editor Kelsey Worthington meets Georgina in an unexpected hospital stay. Young and energetic, Kelsey has a lot to learn from the well-known successful, older businesswoman. But Georgina is taught many lessons along the way as well, and second chances are gracefully offered.
This was not my first Walsh novel and definitely will not be my last.
I also was able to listen to the audiobook version with two narrators who successfully portrayed their characters in a way that enhanced the story, with a particular nod to Cathi Colas.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC. All opinions are mine.

The Summer of Yes is a story of two women at different stages in their lives meeting in the same hospital room after both experiencing major health incidents. Feeling they have missed out on the things they want to do before they die, they decide to take a summer trip, saying yes to all the things they normally wouldn't. This is a story of unlikely friendship, regret, and how it's never too late to change things around! It was also so cute at times it had me smiling at my desk.

The two voices were distinct and good fits for the characters. Honestly wish all audiobooks would do different characters for varying POVs. That's unfortunately about the extent of how it stands out as an audiobook. I would probably prefer to have actually read this as an ebook, but it was nice and chill to listen to while working or driving.

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins for allowing me to listen to the audiobook in exchange for a review.

I love the clean romances that Courtney Walsh writes. I also like a multi-generational road trip! Make it a grumpy old person and I will totally buy in! I had the e book and audio version and I have to say that I preferred reading about Kelsey (Chelsea, Katie, Kimberly, whatever - haha!)
Kelsey feels like she is supposed to spend her summer with Georgina. A summer of doing things she wouldn't normally do. A Summer of Yes!
I have decided that I will let my summer be a summer of yes, too. Well, maybe not all yes but more yes than no!

A slightly new twist on the movie The Bucket List. I wish there was more differences but over all a cute story.
