I love how original Sarah Ready's books are. This one is pure escapism with a magical watch and two parallel lives, one in Geneva (in real life) and one in dreams activated by the watch, in an island. At times this twisty stroy can feel a bit convoluted, but the writing is engaging and the character's are dimensional, so your want to keep turning the pages and find out how it all resolves.

This series is one I never knew I would love so much!

The third in the Ghosted series, FATED is a contemporary romance featuring time travel, magic, and a single Mom named Fiona who finds herself transported to another time through a family heirloom.

I paired the book with the audio format and enjoyed this immersive read so much! Performed by Shakira Shute, I thought she did a great job at voicing each character.

*many thanks to Swift & Lewis and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

I had already read "Switched" which is in the same series (though these books can be read separately and you don't miss anything) which I really enjoyed and so jumped at the chance to read Fated.

The story had an interesting premise which instantly drew me in and continued to deliver throughout the story. There's a great cast of characters that felt well developed and the ending was pretty much perfect. I'd really recommend just giving it a go! I will definitely be reading more of Sarah Ready's books.

Please note I received an advance review copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was such a beautiful love story. Their love triumphed over everything and it was well-deserved. I was fortunate to have it both in print and audio forms available to me. The narrator was fantastic and she did a wonderful job of pulling you in. This series has been a fantastic one and it has given me such a different take on the romance genre. This author never disappoints. And now I am on to the next story Wished.

When I requested this book, I didn't realize that it was book three in a series. But I gave it a try anyway. There were a lot of plot twists that kept me interested out, and fate really held a front seat position on this heartfelt ride. The character growth in this one flowed very naturally. I really enjoyed this authors writing style. I'm definitely going to look for books one and two now! I would recommend this book to others. Big thanks to the author and NetGalley for the ALC.

This was an intense emotional story. Fi has kept herself closed off from love for so long, because she was so scared of getting hurt again.
Fi goes through something incredibly traumatic & tragic, and her mom brings her a special pocket watch, an old family heirloom, but it’s not just that, it’s special, it will show you want you really desire.
So when Fi starts having vivid dreams, she decides it’s ok to open herself up in her dreams, because they aren’t real.
I love seeing Fi change & grow over the year, she opens herself up, she falls in love, her heart is healed.
But then she finds out that Aaron is real, and it’s up to her to save him.
This was intense, it was more of a slow burn, but Fi & Aaron both needed healing.
There was passion, chemistry, love, hope, healing, found family & adventures.

I’ve been working my way through this series, and though I loved Switched and really liked Ghosted. This one wasn’t hooking me like those ones did. I enjoyed Fi and of course, seeing Daniel from her perspective.. the story was just okay for me and was long and drawn out. I liked how it all came together but still found the enchanted element of this one to be underwhelming compared to the first two in this series. I’m hoping I will like Max more when I get into his story in the 4th book as he wasn’t very interesting to me in this one. I originally received an ALC from through netgalley from the publisher but hadn’t listened to it before the release but still appreciate the opportunity to.

This was very cute. I think of the three I’ve now read in the “Ghosted” series this might be my favorite. The premise was very interesting and I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. The story moved seamlessly between the real world and the dreams. I did find it a bit unrealistic and “easy” how everyone was willing to explain themselves to Fiona in her dreams and patiently retell her things they think she already knows. In reality, they definitely would (or should) have been concerned about her memory, but I know this isn’t meant to be realistic book. I really liked the magical aspect of this romance and enjoyed the narrator a lot too. I received an audiobook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was my least favorite of all of Sarah Readys books. It just seemed so silly and not realistic at all.

This was on my shelf my accident but ended up listening anyways! Fated by Sarah Ready is a heartwarming, quirky romance that kept me hooked from start to finish. The characters (Fiona specifically) are charming and relatable, and the narrator really brings the story to life perfectly, I couldn't stop listening! Favorite in the Ghosted series.

Thank you to NetGalley for letting me review!

4.5/5 ⭐️

Each book of this series feels like it takes me forever to get into, but within the first few chapters I am completely sucked into the story trying to guess where it is going. Sarah always does an amazing job at constantly surprising me and making me gasp out loud.

My heart was constantly breaking for Fiona and Aaron and I was extremely worried how this whole story would end. I am beyond happy with how it ended and I can’t wait to read the next book of the series.

I absolutely loved Faated by Sarah Ready. I am a huge fan of her previous books in the Ghosted series, and this book was another 5-star read in this series. I love how the author blends magic with romance and the real world. It makes it seem like magic is a part of our everyday lives, and who doesn't need some magic now and then?

This is Fiona's story, and I love how this story mixes her life in the dream world with her everyday work grind. I also absolutely loved Fiona's dream husband. I had the expectation that somehow her dream world would become her real world, but I loved how it happened.

This book was wonderful and I absolutely would recommend.

Fated by Sarah Ready is an enchanting blend of magical realism, romance, and heartfelt character growth that captivated me from start to finish. The story follows Fiona, a workaholic single mom, and CEO of her family’s luxury watch company in Geneva, Switzerland. Her life takes a surreal turn when she inherits a magical family watch that lets her dream of an alternate life—one where she’s married with kids and embroiled in an affair with her husband's best friend. The contrast between her dream world and reality is beautifully explored, offering a poignant reflection on love, family, and the courage to embrace destiny. It was complex enough to keep you curious and captivated, and simple enough to make it fun and easy to read.

With a sprinkle of spice (2/5 🌶️), fantastic narration in the audiobook by Shakira Shute, and a storyline that balances whimsy and emotional depth, Fated is a romance that will leave you dreaming of second chances, fated love, and magical possibilities. Highly recommend for anyone who loves magical realism and romantic stories with heart.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It had romance, longing, and whimsy vibes. The description of the locations in the story made me feel like I could see it all while reading. #Fated #NetGalley.

A fun premise. I did enjoy the book, but felt like the plot dragged in spots. I am not a huge fan of the slow burn, but if you like it this is absolutely for you. Even though I was losing focus in spots, this book was a lot of fun and I enjoyed how it all came together in the end. I will be reading more from this author.

4 stars

"Fated" by Sarah Ready is a captivating read that delivers a rollercoaster of emotions, but it’s not without its flaws. I give it a solid 4 stars, despite some areas that could have been tightened up. At times, the pacing felt a little too long-winded, and there were moments of repetition that slowed down the flow. However, those moments didn’t detract too much from the overall experience.

The story had me on the edge of my seat throughout, and I found myself shouting at the main character Fiona(MC) on more than one occasion, especially when she made questionable decisions. The emotional stakes were so high that I couldn’t help but get deeply invested in her journey, even if I didn’t always agree with her choices. It’s a testament to how well the author built the tension and the complexity of the characters that I felt so strongly about the Fiona's decisions.

Overall, while it could have used some editing for conciseness, Fated kept me hooked from start to finish with its emotional depth and the intense, unpredictable storyline. A thrilling read for those who enjoy character-driven narratives with a lot of heart and high drama.

The premise of this book intrigued me and when it first started I did not know what to expect. I needed up loving this story and hearing how Fiona grew as a person and learned to love again. It blew whatever expectations I had for this book out of the waters and I did not want it to end.
