This book was slow to start for me. But like going uphill at the start of a roller coaster it eventually picked up speed and soon I was desperately zooming along and holding on for dear life.
Fiona is a hard working mother and loving sister. She and her brother are the heirs to a hugely successful watch company. Through a series of events that set the scene to the greater story, she comes across the first watch that her relatives ever made that is said to show you your heart's desire.
She begins dreaming of him and the twisty, turny love story begins. There were times when I wanted to shake Fiona and yell at her; other times when I wanted to cry with her. The characters in the story were all well built and had good depth, even the mysterious Becca that we never actually meet in story.

“We are all a thousand layers making up a single life.”

Once it got started, I loved this story. I did not have the background knowledge of the other two books in the series, so I was originally worried that I wouldn't be able to follow along. I was able to follow the story perfectly, and now I want to go back and read the other two books in the series!

Wonderfully narrated by Shakira Shute. She is a total 5/5 stars, to go along with another 5/5 story from Sarah Ready.

If you liked Ghosted or Switched, you will love this one. We met Fiona in Ghosted and we get to follow along on her journey in this book. Fiona meets the man of her dreams, while dreaming. She is in possession of a timepiece that her family made a long time ago that shows you love. She dreams of her true love and falls in love with him. In reality, she is deciding if she wants to have a future with Max, her best friend.

There were so many emotions in this book, like in Ghosted. I teared for Fiona and McCormick multiple times. I longed for Fiona and the three children to somehow all be loved together. There were several times I wanted to throw my book and smash my listening device because ish just wasn't how I wanted it to be written, but it was done so much better. I wanted to ring some people's necks a few times, because they were being dumb. And then one the next page they were being so freaking delightful and thoughtful.

This is the 3rd book in the series. While you do not need to read the other two to understand this one, I do recommend reading Ghosted before Fated. I am beyond excited for what comes next!

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio file, this is my honest opinion.

I love the idea of a family watch that shows you your hearts desire. I loved Fiona's story and how she comes to find love. I also love that Sarah Ready does a great job of explaining Fiona's reluctance to open her heart up to love again.

Shakira Shute did a great job narrating this novel. Shakira had an even tone and narrated the book so clearly and concisely that I was able to listen at 3.0x speed. I look forward to listening to more of Shakira's work in the future.

Sarah Ready really knows how to hit you in the feels. Having loved the first two books of the series, I was excited to see how Fiona’s story played out. I was a little confused at the beginning, not realizing this took place before the events of Ghosted. I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to feel for the first part of this book or who I was supposed to be rooting for. But as the book went on I became more and more invested. I just wanted to see Fiona happy and in love and the ending didn't disappoint. Highly recommend on audio as well!

I really liked this book! I love the concept of destiny and soulmates, and it was really fun how this story came together. This book had me always wanting to read just one more chapter to see what would happen. This was a great companion to the "ghosted" series by Sarah Ready. I will definitely look forward to reading more of her books. I also really liked the narrator of this audiobook. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I'm not sure still what I think of this book, the plot is different with paranormal tendencies and this was easy to listen to a bit cringe at times but overall an ok listen for me . Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this audio arc.

This is a fun, entertaining read. I enjoyed the story’s paranormal elements and getting to see the hero from the first book in the series. The story is full of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages to find out how it would all end. There were also aspects of the story that didn’t work for me. I enjoyed Aaron and Fiona’s romance. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love this series! Fated is the third novel in the Ghosted series and these could be read as stand alone novels as well.
Fated follows Fiona Abry of the Abry Swiss watch company. She’s terrified to open her heart & she’s gifted a watch that lets you dream your greatest desires. Fiona ends up living 2 lives. One in reality & the other on a beach with a husband & kids, but what is she to do when the man of her dreams is just that? A dream.
This book was so good. I was really curious to see how a happily ever after would be possible given the circumstances & I wasn’t disappointed. There’s tons of lovable, and some not so lovable, characters to get to know. It really tugs at your heartstrings near the end of the book & I was not expecting it at all.
Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the ARC.

This series I swear. It’ll have you feeling it all. And the ending will have you holding your breathe until you know what you need to know (you’ll know).

First. This was the hardest start of any of the books in the series. A little slow and I didn’t couldn’t feel anyway about the fmc. I’m not sure why. Somewhere between a 1/4 and 1/2 it starts picking up and THE LAST 1/4 OF THE BOOK. It. Is. So. Good. Stick with it if the beginning is a struggle for you. Worth it. (Audiobook was much easier in helping me get through the beginning 🤷🏻‍♀️)

But the main feelings I have for this book is directed at Max! Ugh I feel for him! And I can’t wait for his story!! He just really has to go through it, which I hope makes his story even better 🤞🏼

And Robert is ultimate ick.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review.

Fate by Sarah Ready is a romance where the main character falls in love with the man of her dreams, in her dreams. The story follows Fiona as she learns the lessons she needs through dreams influenced by a magic watch. There were some moments where one needs to suspend disbelief, not around the magical elements of the story, but due to the fact that no one was questioning the interpersonal interactions which arise from the magical elements of the story.

As with some of Ready's other stories, it took a while for me to get into the book, but once I was in I couldn't wait to see how everything resolved. Ready's writing brought to life both Geneva and a small tropical island to the point that each setting was a character in itself (and now I want to visit them both).

I was lucky enough to review this book in audio format, I found the narration to be clear and easy to follow.

Thank you to Sarah Ready and Swift and Lewis Publishing, LLC for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fated is another wonderful entry in Sarah Ready's Ghosted series!

Fiona is extremely busy between running the Abery watch company with her brother and raising her child. There's not a lot of room left in her life for love. After a traumatic incident, she comes across a watch that can let you live your dreams. But soon enough she doesn't want to leave her dreams behind.

Once again, so much heart in these stories. At one point I was literally sobbing and needed to take a break. You feel for these characters and their plight for love, family, and healing. All my romcom girlies need to get on this series!

(I can't wait for Max's turn!)

Really enjoyable read. I found myself rooting for Aaron, a little heartbroken at times, and on the edge of my seat near the end. What a fantastic story!

A story about a busy watchmaker who is so focussed on her work that she doesn’t have time for things like finding love. That is until she is given a watch by her mother which lets the owner find their true dreams.
Fi finds herself waking up on a tropical island far away in her dreams. Where she is married to a man she doesn’t know, has a teenage daughter who doesn’t like her and where she is cheating on her husband with his best friend. Only none of that feels right to her and why are they calling her Becca?

If you enjoy magical realism, if you loved The Seven Year Split by Ashley Poston, then this is the book for you.

"Fated" by Sarah Ready is a delightful read that masterfully blends romance and destiny. The characters are well-developed and relatable, making it easy to get emotionally invested in their journey. Ready's writing is engaging, with a good balance of humor and heartfelt moments. The plot twists keep the story fresh and intriguing, ensuring readers remain hooked until the end. It's a charming book that I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

First off, let me say that I have read the first and second books in this series and really enjoyed them! While this is book 3, these books CAN be read as standalone novels.

This book was already on my TBR, so when I got the chance to be an ARC reader for Fated, I jumped on the opportunity! I was super stoked to find that the storyline had to do with dreams. While I have read books with similar concepts before, this one took the idea, put a huge twist on it, and presented in a whole new refreshing way. I'm not going to include any spoilers, but I will say that I definitely found myself experiencing every emotion out there with this book. There were times when I smiled, some when I was sad, and others where I held my breath waiting for what was to come. It was truly a roller coaster! I kept trying to figure out how the two timelines were connected, and it kept me on my toes until the very end.

I did listen to this on audio, and I found the narration to be enjoyable as well. The pacing, diction, and delivery were spot on. I never had any issues following the storyline, and feel that the narrator enhanced the story by truly becoming Fiona.

🧚🏻A huge thank you goes out to NetGalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing, and author Sarah Ready for providing me with a free copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review. All comments and opinions are completely my own.

At the beginning, I would have rated this a 2.5 or 3 star. It took a long time to get going, and the author spent a long time setting things up. I don’t think the inciting incident happened until about chapter 8.

Fiona is a Swiss watch maker adrift about how to find fulfillment in her life. With the aid of an enchanted watch, she is able to dream about her heart’s desire: Aaron. Now she has to figure out what she can learn from her dreams so that she can find happiness in her real life.

Once the dreams began, things started picking up. I really fell in love with Aaron and his family, and the author did a great job making us sympathetic to them.

I had a suspicion of how it was going to end, and I was partially correct, but I loved the twist the author gave. It felt good to know where it was going, but how everything tied together was fantastic.

The writing was beautiful and descriptive, and she did a great job immersing you in the world.

There was one full sexy time, but the author gradually built her way up to it. Nothing gratuitous, but not closed door.

I listened to the audio narration. The narrator had a lovely British accent, and her voice was age-appropriate to the character. She did a great job narrating to help immerse us in the story. I never felt pulled out of the story because of her.

Thank you, NetGalley for the complimentary book in exchange for an unbiased review!

When I am looking for a good romance/rom-com for summer listening, Sarah Ready's books in audio form are my go-to. I absolutely loved the first two in the Ghosted series (Ghosted and Switched), and when I saw that a third book was being released, I jumped at the chance to listen to an early copy. I must admit that I struggled a little at the beginning of this one, but eventually I grasped what was happening, and was completely hooked.

Fated, like the other books in this series, has a paranormal aspect, with time travel playing a huge role in the romance between Aaron and Fiona. Through much of the book, I was not sure how, or even if, there would be a happy ending, and whether I was going to be okay with how things wrapped up. Sarah Ready is a master at writing swoon-worthy leading men, and this book actually has two of them. I had a hard time choosing which one I most wanted Fi to end up with.

While Fated was not my favorite in this series, it is a worthy addition to the genre and an enjoyable listen. Shakira Shute was a wonderful narrator, her voice reeks of class and intelligence, and brought Fiona to life.

Thank you to Netgalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing and the author for the audio ARC of Fated by Sarah Ready. The opinions in this review are my own.

Tbh I feel pretty indifferent to this one. It has a cool concept but I feel like it was doing to much to ever be able to really sink into the romance.
Some of the dialogue is also extremely cringey like when our love interest said to our fmc 'you smell like butterflies' I don't know what to do with that.

4.5

When i saw the next book in Sarah Ready’s “Ghosted” series on netgalley available to read i instantly downloading it & listened to it. I then spent the whole day at work as well staying up until 12am just to finish it because i needed to know how it ended before going to sleep.

Firstly i love how easy Sarah Ready’s writing is! Her book are the perfect books to get you out of a slump. I was feeling a little bit of a slump coming when i decided to start this book & it pulled me right back from it. I’ve found i don’t love magic realism in my books but if Sarah Ready’s writes it i know it’s gonna be a good time for me!

One thing you can always trust in this series is a HEA but Sarah is going to take you down some dark times to get there. I love trying to figure out how Sarah is going to get her characters out of the circumstances they are in. I absolutely loved the romance in this book as well as all of the characters! I don’t know if there are anymore in this series but hopefully there is because i’m not ready for it to be over.

I did find the pacing to be a bit slow toward the middle of the book, i feel the book could have been shorter & it would have been perfect.

This was a five-star read that went up and down like waves on the ocean. This one took me a while to get into, and at times I was struggling to keep going, but then I dot know what happened, all of a sudden, I was hooked like a fish on a line, and I couldn’t stop listening, I was ignoring calls and taking the long roads home and to work, just so I could squeeze more listening time in. I don’t know if it took a while to get into as I didn’t realise this was number three, but it was worth every minute once I was engrossed in the story, the passion and heart as Shakira Shute tells the story, the pain that they manage to get across, will have you holding your breath and sobbing in pain with the characters. This was a great story in the end and has made me determined to go back and check number one and two out.

This is a review of the audiobook version of “Fated”, narrated by Shakira Shute. Fiona is a workaholic and a single mother shying away from love after a broken heart. She was also abandoned by her mom and left with her dad at a young age. Fiona and her brother throw themselves into the family’s Swiss watch business following the death of their father. Her mother then returns and gives her a family heirloom watch that is believed to let you dream your greatest desires. It is here that she meets the love of her life Aaron and her daughter and son. The problem is he’s just a dream or is he? I loved the narrator of this book. She did an excellent job in portraying all the different characters and emotions. An excellent read and/or audiobook that I would definitely recommend.
