I really enjoyed this read. Usually with time travel it is someone from the past coming to the future, so it was refreshing to see someone travel back to Jane Austen's time for a change. The chemistry between Tucker and Lizzy is easy to see, and the banter flowed well. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

THIS WAS SO FUN. I love love love time travel stories, and this was up there as one of my favorites. It was soo funny and endearing. I loved the characters and the plot line. Everything was soo well thought-out. I was afraid it would be hard to make this work, but the author meshed it together so well. Definitely recommend.

4 Stars – Wow, what a read. When I began Puck & Prejudice by Lia Riley, I couldn’t put it down. Riley has taken a 21st century hockey player, Tucker Taylor, and sent him back in time to 1812 to a spinster, Lizzy Wooddash, who is friends with Jane Austen. I’m not revealing a lot here, but I kept reading to see what would happen next. How was he going to get back to our time, how was he going to handle the society period rules and he didn’t even really know who Jane Austen was other than his sister liked to read her works!

At one point, Lizzy and Tucker are discussing the future and comparing it to her time frame. It’s sad to see Lizzy come to realize that even in 200 years, women aren’t paid equal to men, America hasn’t had a female president and even in sporting events female athletes aren’t paid equal and the events aren’t as well attended as the men’s. It was a thoughtful way of inserting that in the story. The story was such a page turner! I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, as I wished it was longer.

As a fan of both hockey and Pride & Prejudice I figured I had to give this book a try.

I have always been afraid of reading hockey romances as I would probably pick apart all of the hockey. Thankfully I wasn’t doing that for this book. Tucker Taylor plays a goalie for an Austin pro team alongside actual NHL teams. The author making a note of goalies being weird was perfect 👌🏻 as most fans know goalies truly are weird. I was thrown off when a character from Berkeley said his team was “the mighty ducks” … why not San Jose? And as someone who lives near the Duck’s arena who even calls them that anymore 🤣 kidding aside it was great to see my team the Canucks being referenced. I thought the hockey aspect and mental game that goalies play was well done.

I thought the character Lizzy was very likable, and I enjoyed meeting her friends, including Jane herself. The quote about “what excellent boiled potatoes” had me giggling. I did find it very odd that Tucker didn’t even know her name from present day. I thought the romance was very sweet but was thrown off at Tucker’s pet names for Lizzy amidst the language of the 1800s.

Overall this was a fun, sometimes silly and sweet time travel sports romance that I throughly enjoyed.

This was fun. I think it would have been even better if I a had actually read or watched the source material, but it was such a fun time!

All I want to do is reread it. I keep talking about it to anyone who will listen. It’s my new favorite marriage of convenience historical fiction and time-traveling sports romance. Lia Riley has written something extraordinary, and I cannot wait for everyone to fall in love with it like I have!

The time travel aspect was interesting, and the way it was explained felt as believable as a time travel story could be. While I know some didn’t love the connection between a hockey player and 1812, I did! Maybe those people never fell in love with *The Root Cellar* as kids like I did.

I really liked the banter between the characters, and both Tuck and Lizzy were fantastic. Tuck was adorable and sweet, while Lizzy was strong and opinionated. I enjoy reading historical romance now and then, and I’m also a fan of sports romance, so this mashup of the two genres was a treat. Plus, it was funny and sweet, and Jane Austen?! Sign me up!

I’d definitely read this again and already know some friends who are going to love it once it’s released.

This was a little different time travel. I found it a little humorous in places. The heroine was a determined young woman. The hero was a an athlete with a heart The ending is what makes this story interesting, but I wonder what happens if they have children. I enjoyed it.

This was my very first read by Lia Riley and it. definitely won't be the last. Her writing was great and the story she wrote about a hockey player Tuck who time travels to England where he meets Lizzy who I adore! The storyline and the overall book was fantastic and I have no problem recommending it to others looking for a sweet, well put together book containing the perfect amount of laughs and plot. It was a quick and easy read that I truly enjoyed!

After a wild night out, Tucker finds himself in a time-traveling pickle when he accidentally drives his car into a frozen lake and emerges in the year 1812. Talk about a chilly surprise! And let's not forget about Elizabeth, who takes the whole situation surprisingly well. I mean, if it were me, I'd be freaking out!

But things get even more interesting when Jane Austen herself makes an appearance in the story. It's like literary magic come to life! Though, I must say, Tucker's cluelessness about Jane Austen was a bit odd. I mean, who doesn't know about the queen of romance novels?

As for the characters, Elizabeth stole the show with her independence and courage. She's not your average damsel in distress, that's for sure. Tucker, on the other hand, didn't quite click with me. Something about him just didn't sit right.

All in all it was a fun read, even if it wasn't quite what I expected. Who knew a late-night drive could lead to such a time-traveling adventure?

What do you get when an American professional hockey player falls through time and ends up in Regency England? A hilarious and charming juxtaposition!

Lizzy isn't happy with her lot in life. At 27, her mother won't stop pushing her to wed, when all she wants is the freedom to pursue her dream of being an author. Just like her friend, Jane. Yes. *That* Jane. When she happens upon a handsome, albeit oddly dressed, stranger crawling out of the sludgy lake near her cousin's estate, Lizzy feels a thrill thats unusual for her. A fake marriage, banter, spice, adventures (and mishaps) ensue which were all delightful.

Overall, I loved both Lizzy and Tuck and their chemistry together. This is a sweet, spicy read that is quick and easy - the perfect thing to pick up between longer series or emotionally heavy books.

I thought it was a smidge unbelievable how quickly Lizzy and crew believed that Tuck was from the future. However, I understand that was to move the plot along and keep the story from dragging.

The ending was a bit of a let down for me, but it still felt romantic and satisfactory. I just wanted MORE!

Its a 3.5 star read for me.

This book has a lot of fun rolled into the book, with dashes of romance, history, and contemporary elements - such a delectable mix. I just loved the premise of this book, and the wackiness of it all is part of the overall appeal.

I really like this book! Some things were not exactly accurate historically, but it was a really fun read. The characters were interesting and the story moved at a good pace. Most importantly, good humor and smut!

I tell you what, I’m a sucker for time travel romances and this one hit the nail on the head! Absolute praise for Lia Riley in writing this piece of art. Lizzy and Tuck’s story was just what I needed. This BOOK was just what I needed! You have a hot hockey hunk, a regency romance honey and the magical wonder of time travel. All the best things tied up in a nice and neat bow for you in this book. The blurb says it all so I’m just here to tell you that this one will definitely be worth every penny and every minute of your time. Wow.

So if you go into this knowing it's just light fluff you should be set. Unfortunately it was too slow in some places and the spicy scenes were waaaaaaay way way way to open door for me. I mean forget the open door, this was like a no walls or barriers kind of spice. And I am just not into that at all. So if that is your jam then this book might be for you. But the low star rating was really because of the clunky storyline and I wasn't thrilled with the ending.

Super cute unique take on reimagining Jane’s famous characters! I loved the time travel aspect, which I tend to not enjoy. Very creative and an enjoyable reading experience.

Puck and Prejudice was short sweet and delicious and I am SO excited to add this book to my collection. I am a sucker for 3rd person POV and Lie Riley hit it out of the park. Tuck and Lizzie had great chemistry and I could read about them FOREVER! So excited to have this book in my grasp
