This was spicy from the start and didn’t disappoint at all as I read through it and fell for these characters and their story. I think there was just enough pull back while also not making the story boring and really making this a story I couldn’t stop reading.

When a passionate night with a stranger results in an unexpected pregnancy both Becka and Aaron’s must learn to compromise in order to do what is best for their unborn child. Opposites attract and sparks fly.

This was an interesting read for me because I was pretty conflicted about Becka. I understood her extreme aversion to relationships after growing up seeing her parents disastrous marriage. But in her attempt to not be her mother, she came pretty close to being her mother. Of course she ultimately acknowledged and confronted her issues but her stubbornness grated on me.

Now Aaron on the other hand was almost too perfect to believe. But that’s ok. I love the fantasy of him. And maybe that is why I didn’t love this story as much as I could have. Becka was too real and relatable while Aaron was all fantasy.

I wasn’t a fan of the third act conflict. After months and months of being patient with Becka’s need for space and her refusal to talk about anything real he has one moment of irrationality and suddenly HE is the problem.

I was so excited for this novella. A love a good brother’s best friend romance and this book was off to a great start with perpetually grumpy Cameron and sunny Trish being forced to work together while her brother was on parental leave.

I loved their dynamic and how despite being so grumpy Cameron was really a very caring person who was so concerned about Trish’s well being. I loved the two of them together. They complimented each other so well. She has the patience and understanding to know that he wasn’t a gruff and mean as he appeared and he helped her stop and focus on her wants and desires.

Once again where this fell apart for me was the third act conflict. Of course Cameron was hurt she didn’t discuss things with him. I don’t think he ever would have stopped her. But her deciding he didn’t even need to know or be part of the process was it for me. She lost a lot of my respect.

I am glad that everything worked out in the end. Because I really wanted them to be happy.

Sadly this book just didn’t grab as much as I hoped it would. I put it down and picked it up multiple times but I just couldn’t connect with it. Super bummed.

Short and spicy, the second part to Katee Roberts Make me set both sets of couples are cute and endearing in their own way.

From Bekah and Aaron overcoming their own personal demons to come together for their baby, and Trish and Cameron’s feisty cuteness I ate them all up.

Great for fans of a quick light hearted read full of spice

It was such a surprise to find out that there are two books in one! Both books in this were super spicy, contemporary romance. If pregnancy is a trigger, I would proceed the first book with caution. But both are very quick reads!

Thank you Netgalley, the author, and publishers for the eARC.

God. I love Katee Robert books. I always know that I can pick up one of her stories and it’s always going to be a fun romp between the pages.

Becka only does one night stands and she sees Aaron at a wedding and have a one night stand.
Weeks later she finds out she is pregnant and feels that he should know. He has her move into his penthouse since her apartment is small and run down. She feels stifled though but the chemistry is great. I really liked Aaron and after getting to know Becka more she started to grow on me.
The 2nb book in this book is about Aaron's sister Trisha . She gets hired from her brother and works with his partner who is a very grumpy person and very blunt with people. She starts to grow on him and they have such chemistry together but he fights a lot of it. SHe is always happy which he doesn't get but sometimes it is just a cover up.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the ebook to review.

Katee Robert’s Illicit Temptations combines two sizzling novellas, Make Me Yours and Make Me Need, into an electrifying romance collection that pushes the limits of desire and commitment. As a fan of Robert’s work, I was excited to dive into this steamy anthology.

Both novellas are packed with Robert’s trademark emotional depth and fiery passion. Make Me Yours features Becka, a commitment-phobic woman who has a steamy one-night stand with Aaron, a wealthy entrepreneur. Their chemistry is immediate and intense, leading to a gripping story of “will they or won’t they” that keeps you hooked.

Make Me Need introduces Trish, Aaron’s sister, who returns home post-college and starts working for Aaron’s business. The attraction between Trish and Cameron, Aaron’s business partner, is instant and irresistible, leading to a captivating romance about seizing life's forbidden desires.

Illicit Temptations delivers on steamy, emotionally charged romance with a touch of forbidden allure. If you enjoy intense love stories with complex characters and power dynamics, this collection is a must-read.

Illicit Temptations is two spicy interconnected stand alone books in one volume.

The first book is Make Me Yours. When Becka sees Aaron at her sister wedding she is immediately drawn to home. After a steamy one night affair she has not intention of seeing him again. Until she realizes she is pregnant. Aaron takes control and Becka finds herself living at his place. The arrangement meant for convenience only turns out to have more perks than Becka could imagine.

The second book is Make Me Need. While Aaron is on paternity leave, his sister, Trish, steps in to handle some of the tasks at his company. Trish is so attracted to Aaron's partner Cam. But Cam is taciturn to the point of almost being antisocial. Can Cam get Trish to see past his grumpy exterior?

I enjoyed both books. I liked the characters and the stories moved at a nice pace. And these were spicy!! I highly recomment these to those that enjoy a spicy romance.

Two really good contemporary romance stories from Katee Robert. Surprise pregnancy isn't my favorite trope, but the narrative handles it well. The main characters from both stories are entertaining and the love interests are perfect for both of them.

You know them, you love them, it's Katee Robert, This dual story collection from one of the hottest romance authors in the business delivers exactly what we've come to expect from Robert. The characters are interesting people who you love to cheer for, but are realistically flawed in a way that allows readers to see themselves as redeemable/healable. Each story ends in some of the most satisfying happily ever afters on the market thanks to Robert's thoughtful character development. The spice is holds up compared to the rest of Robert's catalog, where consent is key and aftercare is mandatory.

Just as when I reviewed the supposed second volume of this series, I’m going to start this review off with some housekeeping. This book is listed as Volume I of the Make Me series. I felt I was missing something when I started reading the first story in this compilation of two short stories. I’m sure it would have been okay to continue without digging any further, but I’m a completionist all the way. I found that the four stories in these two volumes were released as individual stories under the Mills & Boon’s Dare imprint in 2018 and 2019. Make Me Yours, the first story in this compilation, was actually book #3 in the series. So I did what any sane person would do and read my ARC of Forbidden Games first. While, strictly speaking, these stories can all stand alone, I felt I got more depth by reading them in the original order.

Make Me Yours

Becka and Aaron start off with a bang, literally. They are fire together, until a problem with their condom. Becka immediately puts a fortress around her mind and heart and takes off as though Aaron is just another one-night stand. Aaron, being a playboy most of his adult life, knows there is something different about his connection to Becka yet also understands her reasons for getting out of there so quickly. He just cannot get her out of his mind.

Good thing, because Becka shows up a few months later pregnant with his baby. Aaron is very overbearing. He has good thoughts and ideas when but terrible execution. Becka is not used to answering to anyone so they are going to both learn to compromise.

Aaron quickly learns what does and doesn’t work when trying to get closer to Becka. He’s always mindful to not spook her, he wants her around for the long haul. Not just because she’s pregnant with his kid but because he’s falling in love. Becka’s falling in love, too. She has a lot of walls to climb over to learn to trust that emotion and trust the love of anyone other than her sister.

Once again the author has both the main characters realizing how stupid they are being at the same time after things go south. I love that about this series. And I love the way Aaron can be so dominating yet so soft. It’s a great combo in a man.

Make Me Need

The pairing of Trish and Cameron was pretty obvious from the previous story. Not knowing either character well, I was pleasantly surprised by how much chemistry they have. This is a grumpy/sunshine story with Cameron being the grump and Trish being the sunshine. Of course, there is much more to be found under their external presentation.

Cameron instantly sees through Trish’s fake smiles and chipper nature, which throws her off since even those closest to her rarely notice when she is covering up her true feelings. It comes out that, although her mom is a wonderful person, there is a dynamic to their relationship that has caused Trish to always want/need to smooth things over.

Although it’s never put on the page, Cameron seems to be neurodivergent. He’s uncomfortable with most people and doesn’t understand when subterfuge is used, even if there is no ill intent. Cameron is easily frustrated with dishonesty, even when done in the “normal” course of business and interpersonal relationships with those around you. Trish seems to understand this and doesn’t let his harsh tongue and frowny face discourage or scare her.

I love the micro-trope of “I’ve never seen him like this with anyone else”. I especially loved it here, as it seemed Cameron needed that special someone in his life. And Trish needed someone who would put her happiness above all else.

4 stars

My overall rating for the book is 4 stars.

This book is two novellas and they are both so fun and quick reads. They are interconnected both of the men are best friends. The first romance is a surprise pregnancy which was an accident and I think it was done well with an adorable insta love feel just cause they enjoyed each others company.
The second was his business partner and his sister. They needed an office manager. So close proximity and opposites attract with their grumpy sunshine. This was also very hot. Both had delicious 3rd act breakups; they are so boring without them. C'mon you can have a normal relationship irl let me have the drama.

Katee Robert never misses…. this book had me sweating! I loved that it was a two-in-one book as well!

The pairing of these two wonderful stories in one book is sheer perfection. I adored getting to know Becka and Aaron. I loved the one-night stand trope and it was done flawlessly here. I equally loved Aaron's sister Trish and Cameron fall in love. The he-fell-first trope can be tricky, especially with the dynamic of Cameron's personality. Katee Robert pulls it off so well though. I knew I loved her dark romance. Finding out she writes sweet romance just as phenomenally places her as an Insta-buy author for me.

I am so grateful to NetGalley, Katee Robert, and Harlequin for allowing me to read this book and share my honest thoughts and opinions with you.

Accidental Pregnancy happens to be one of my least favorite romance tropes, but I read this novella with an open mind. Becka and Aaron had amazing chemistry from page one and I enjoyed reading their story unfold.

A yummy slow burn, forbidden, brother’s best friend novella. Trish and Cameron couldn’t leave well enough alone and stay away from one another. Their attraction to one another and magnetic pull made this one hard to put down!

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 = basically only smut but has an enjoyable storyline and character development

♥︎ Many thanks to Harlequin Books and the Harlequin Publicity Team for the gifted copy!

🤰 accidental pregnancy
🖤 past traumas

Previously published as Make Me Yours & Make Me Need by Katee Robert.

Becka hates weddings. She hates love if we are being real. Attending her sisters wedding as her moh she of course would do her duties but internally hated it. The reason why she hates marriage is because her parents were horribly parents and shouldn’t have been married. It ruined Becka for the future. While at the wedding she sees a gorgeous man who’s mutual friends with people she knows.

Aaron is the gorgeous man that Becka immediately walked up to and propositioned leaving together. They end the night together but when the condom accidentally breaks Becka flees immediately.

Weeks later she contacts him because surprise surprise she’s pregnant even though she was on birth control.

He immediately moves her in because he doesn’t want her living in her tiny apartment. She finds him pushy & controlling but moves anyways to appease him. They spend the next 6 weeks really getting to know each other more and more. They go on dates and do everything together. She’s still very reserved since she won’t trust him and closed herself off to the idea of love.

When they went to the clinic for her appt it was a little awkward. I personally have been through that since I was pregnant last year but some of how the drs went about things was a little weird. But ultimately it’s a book and made up so it’s fine.

I can’t stand Becka. Aaron tells her how he really feels about her and wants to marry her & that he loves her and their baby. She freaks out on him and says they could never work and says she’ll leave but instead he leaves. She then spends the next 24 hours acting like she didn’t just stomp all over him & gets upset that he actually left.

This story started out good but to be honest I wasn’t a big fan of Becka. Aaron deserved better in my opinion. We never see Becka really learn from her trauma and mistakes and the fight & makeup was so short it felt rushed. It felt like this book was lacking something. Almost unresolved.

Part 2

☀️ grumpy x sunshine

Trish is Aaron’s sister who he offered a job to recently to help liven up the office and to field clients when they come in. he’ll be out on leave so she has to handle a lot especially with the grumpy other boss she has to be around.

Cameron is Aaron’s business partner and he is a grump. He is rude to all the clients which makes the company actually lose people. He just doesn’t tolerate dumb questions and makes mistakes by opening his mouth and saying something rude instead of just moving past it.

Trish is trying to prove everyone wrong and that she can do big things in life. She is remodeling the office to make it more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable when clients do come in. As she’s painting the front area Cameron is freaking out as she falls from the ladder and he catches her. He forbids her from doing any painting unless he’s there but helps her the rest of the evening. He insists on walking her home and she kisses him before going inside.

Of course they say it’s a mistake and they won’t do it again. But we all know that’s a lie. They end up going to England together for a deal and hook up immediately. They say they won’t talk about the future til the trip is over and will continue what they have until then.

They fall hard & fast for each other. I’d almost love even more pages for this book. I wish the third quarter break up & makeup was longer and more groveling.

The only thing i didn’t like about this book was the pov switching up on a random paragraph. I often had to reread parts to see who was talking. Not a big deal but not my fav. I am unsure if the published version will have that.

You get two stories in this book! The characters overlap between them, so it’s almost like getting an extra long epilogue. Haha. I felt more connected with the FMC in the first story, but completely enjoyed the grumpy MMC in the second story. I enjoyed his wit and getting inside his head. The sex scenes in both stories were great. Not overly explicit or involve degrading someone. I wish the second story had an epilogue though.

Thank you Halequin and NetGalley for an ARC!

This book is about two couples trying to navigate their feelings for each other. The first story is about Becka and Aaron, who have a one night stand and face a life changing event! The second is about Cameron and Trish, who are your typical grumpy/sunshine characters on the surface, but have some deeper issues that are explored.

Overall I enjoyed both stories but feel like the pacing on the second story was a little off. I loved the character development for all four love interests, and think Katee Robert’s did a great job of exploring and discussing all character flaws.

I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy authors like Megan Brandy and Lucy Score.

Thank you NetGalley, Katee Robert, and Harlequin for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
"Illicit Temptations" by Katee Robert is an engaging, steamy set of two novellal’s that delivers a fast-paced, seductive story with complex characters. The chemistry between the both set of leads is undeniable, and Robert does a fantastic job of building tension and excitement throughout. The plot moves quickly, keeping the reader invested, and there are plenty of classic tropes to keep things interesting.
However, while the book excels in its heat and intensity, some of the character development and plot elements feel rushed or underexplored. At times, it feels like the romance and drama take precedence over deeper emotional connections, which could have added more depth to the story.
Overall, it's a fun, sexy read with a lot of appeal for fans of steamy romance, though it may leave some readers wanting more in terms of character and plot depth. 3.5 stars!
